With the prices you mentioned it would really be an awesome deal. But here in Germany somehow the price for this Model is 6300€ which is roughly 7200USD. The Frame isn't for purchase at the website in Alloy at all. Carbon comp model is 5700€ ~6500USD with NX and Rhythm Fork. The Evo Comp would be my favorite bike but the prices are ridiculous. 🤷♂️
Nice bike. The complete builds aren't outrageous and the frame is a very good deal, especially with the swat and geo adjustments. I just did a similar build on a spire (alloy frame with factory suspension, good brakes, and normal drive train and alloy wheels) and if wasn't far off this expert build. Although I tested a s works evo and prefer my spire, even at 37.5 pounds all in.
I just bought the carbon version of this bike......never had a carbon bike. Would you reocommend a specific frame protection to put on.......ride wrap, all mountain style, or invis? I just want the strongest to give my investment the best protection. Thanks and great reviews!
@@MloVisual ok i will play along....I checked YT Capra Core 3 model (4499 EUR)...assuming one needs size L it's available April 2023 ....23' !!! I saw 2 Stumpjumper Evo Comps (4499 EUR as well) in my local Specialized concept store and bought one right away without any waiting or fake promises on availability. I will already have 1.8-2K km on it before you even get yours so i really could not care less about couple hundreds saved. With upgrades and some sold parts it will be roughly at 5800 EUR now which is still less than Capra Core 4 (5999 EUR excl.shipping). So not really thousands saved there and definitely not better ride from what i have tested before purchase (upgraded capra comp with ZEB)
The value is in the build - flagship suspension and an excellent cockpit. And above all, from the features that are on offer with the frame. Regardless of material, a massive SWAT storage section and more geometry adjustments than most other bikes on the market are what sets this apart from the competition.
Dude... what's wrong with you? seriously. Are you kidding us? You ride the Carbon with the all new FLEX STAYS (NO Horst link) suspension design for the back, never done before, now you ride this one with the old design Horst link system and you say absolutely NOTHING about the difference in bike feel? are you serious? you talked about everything under the sun and mindless minutia but, not a word about their biggest difference? you think that is a pretty big thing, if not the biggest thing? geez.. talk about being 'tone deaf' you take the cake! (reviewers have noted the new design is more lively but at the expense of the "plushness" the old design had before, but we will never know if you agree cause you said nothing about it)
Well. If ya can afford a big SUV, and get free stuff to review, I guess anything is...mid-price. $6K for a mountain bicycle? I can purchase a nice motorcycle or e-bike for that amount. All you're paying for is the name on the downtube, much like the other king-brands of the industry.
With mountain bikes ranging from around $1000 to $13,000, $6k is mid priced. Are there other brands offering a model with substantially better value at that price point? If so, we'd love to hear about them.
@@mtb-mag Ppl just don't understand how smooth these bikes are when rolling down trails. I own this bike and it was definitely the best choice I have made. I was riding an Orbea H30 hardtail and man it's night and day! Most Ebikes are not gonna be this specced out unless your dropping $8k plus. By the way this bike was on sale for $3500 not too long ago!
Nice review, I put my order in when my dealer got the preorder email. Can't wait for my frame to get here!
What fork do you plan on running? I’m trying to decide Fox 36 or 38. I have the 38 on my Enduro and
love it.
@@vancummings1742 I was going to run my 36 off my Status, but upgrade it to the Grip 2 damper.
If Specialized makes an alloy enduro, I’d buy it on the spot
Oh yeah! I agreed, alloy rule!!! 🤘

Well this bike is in the enduro range with all that travel, just slightly 10mm below it. 160/150.
Crazy I’m watching this review thinking of getting this bike then watching him hit a trail home trail I ride all the time
I pulled the trigger on one in the Elite build. Do it you will not regret it. This bike is awesome
The frameset seems like the ultimate, very fair price on that. Although I still can't find a reason to upgrade my 2018 Enduro.

An alloy enduro would be nice!

Is this he death of Status? Might be to expensive for the ordinary guy.
I have this stumpy in carbon and this model in Alloy. Carbon is more comfortable.

I did put ride wrap on my SJEVO Carbon personal bike and I absolutely love it. That would be my recommendation. It's really dialed.
Ooooooh
If only they have 27.5 versions of that alloy
You can mullet it with the different shock yolk. Check the website

For $5400, I would look for a carbon bike
Hello. Thanks for.this rewiew
What size have you test and your height please? Thanks
Hey there - our tester was on an S4 and he's 6 feet tall on the dot.
What’s the weight of this bike?
From the review: 32.9 lbs - tubeless, our scale, no pedals, tool, bottle cage or fender
@@mtb-mag Yeeehh right, but 'stock' S3 is 15.4kg. (Fender, bottle cage, no pedals, tubes, no toolset in).
$5600??? For Alloy??? Seems someone over at the Spesh factory has been huffing too much carbon fiber resin!
Too expensive for an alloy bike. What happened to the red headed step child, named Status?
Go ride one.
Well it is rocking a $2400 suspension.
for that price..i can get a carbon YT
Then go ahead and get carbon YT. Their quality is sh*t but whatever, it's cheaper right.
lol YT
Me: saving thousands of dollars while still getting same/better ride quality as Specialize 😂😂
