    its a tie, but Japan wins if you want a car that will drive and not give you troubles. sounds like get a bmw if you want to look cool in your driveway, get a toyota if you want to make it to your destination.

      In the US we don't have many good mechanics for German cars. They are incredibly expensive to fix. Only 10% of the population in the US can afford to have expensive cars.@ImanSengupta2102

    • @1792dt
      @1792dt 8 місяців тому

      @ImanSengupta2102 japanese cars you REALLY DONT WORRY about money lol. Time = money. The Japanese car will never break down or have a lot of time in the mechanic shop like german cars. Morning coffee run, gym, afternoon meeting, errands, drive across town. I can do this extensively and dont worry about money or car problems. German car? Well, if im driving to work, the check engine light might come on, that means i have to take time out of my day to go to the dealership to get it fixed. Then they will give me a courtesy vehicle, because the car needs a week to diagnose and fix. Then i have to go back to the dealership to return the courtesy vehicle and pick up my car. That is a lot of wasted time. Time = money.

      @@1792dt YOu drive a toyota... The shitty ride quality will break your back. The noisy cabin will affect your hearing. The utter mediocrity of the car will give you anxiety. You will lose time and money fixing your body at an hospital instead of just calling your premium dealer to take your proper premium german for a fix or maintenance...
      I mean, it all hyperbole, but about as stupid as your example. If you dont have time to take your car for a fix, then you dont have money. You said it, time is money. If you have enough money, you have time to spare. If youre so time constrained, you should probably worry more about your life and not your car. If you dont care or like cars, go ahead and get a jap. Otherwise, lol, even in Japan german cars sell like hot cakes.

  • @forestmanzpedia
    @forestmanzpedia 11 місяців тому +14

    I am a German and honestly I would pick Japanese cars since I made good experiences with Toyota, Honda and Subaru. It's what you said already: repairs for German cars are complicated, time consuming and very costly. Especially replacement parts which have to be ordered from the car manufacturers themselves. Also, the German car industry is very exploitive so I am not really a fan of scummy buisness practises at the expense of the consumer. If anything, I would pick Audi or VW, because modern BMW and Mercedes cars pretend to be luxurious at a higher price, when in reality they have questionable compartment parts, features and design flaws in different cases and different models also again at the expense of the consumer. Avoid Opel/Vauxhall (UK).

Another car came in for struts all around and it had Mercedes adjustable struts all computer controlled , cost was $1500 each strut just for the parts ! I disagree on a lot of points, because to be honest, i felt like the chips were spread equaly and sometimes as if so noone of the two "barricades" of the choice wouldn't get offended. Example: let's take the chips with comfortability and smooth ride (that's two points for the germans) when in reality, we'd have to compare the same price segment rather then just two countries. We can all agree that an S class has a much more smoother ride than a camry, but the car classes are totally stretched. If we were to come back to earth on that one- any bmw or a mercedes in under $40-50k price range wouldn't outcompete a let's say a lexus ES in smoothness, quitness, stability and comfortablility. The germans make the ride grippy but not nearly as smooth like japanese manufacturer's do. When Bavarian cars had power in their mindset for years, japanese cars had "ride" as their main focus. Search "lexus glass ad" and check out what year was that.

      What year your dads german cars were? German cars in the 70s 80s 90s were much better than later models, they were really solid cars without any unnecessary over engineering.

    I have both cars. At the end of the day, you drive what you pay. They are uncomparable when it comes to joy, comfort and handling. Japanese are boring but when it comes to the reliability, Germans' have got nothing to offer. I buy Lexus GS 350, with 200k odometer, but don't go even close to BMW OR MERCEDES with 100k.
    Bro, the BMW that you are presenting is 3 series, make sure you put 5 series in youe presentation. And when it comes to fuel consumption, German cars are way better. BTW, my background is mechanical reliability engineer.

      😂😂😂 German cars having way better fuel consumption is a joke right?

      Modern German cars are scrupulously efficient. Euro efficiency laws are the strictest in the world. When comparing cars, look at equivalent power, torque and acceleration outputs. Comparing a Camry to an AMG Mercedes is not a valid comparison for fuel consumption. That said, a bi-turbo diesel Audi A6 will accelerate 0-60mph under 5 seconds and manage 60mpg on the hwy. I'm not aware of a Japanese car that can make similar claims. BMW has similar vehicles. Of course, many of the more efficient German models will never be sold in the US market. These days it seems Japanese industry (Toyota particularly) is more conservative, generally prioritising dependability and practicality over cutting edge innovation @@maiden5427

    Thanks for your detailed analysis.
    However, l don't understand why people compare TOYOTA and HONDA to MERCEDES and BMW instead of LEXUS and ACURA to MERCEDES and BMW.
    I've driven both Japanese and German cars and my conclusion is, go Japanese if money is a problem and you simply need transportation.
    Drive German cars if you are well heeled and enjoy the act of driving.
