As I was a kid, one old dude had such an old race car in it's garage (probably old f1). I didn't knew it at that time, but it was a fantastic car and we made great excursions on the little roads around the town. Wonderful memories.
When was this? It's a long time since F1 cars were ever road legal. In fact, I can't think of an era when an actual Formula 1 car could be driven on the road. If you are talking pre-World War 2 Grand Prix car, then some of them could be made road legal.
Among the photos also those of the Mille Miglia 1932, including the Alfa of Antonietta Avanzo, the first woman to participate. My mom's family was from Casalmaggiore, where the final part of the race passed. When a very young Nuvolari kidnapped his fiancée to marry her, they went to live in their grandparents' palace for a period, before returning to Mantua; one of his trunks remained in house and I have it now.
Tazio Nuvolari add his name to your racing lexicon. Raced motorcycles, Alfa, Ferrari, then Auto Union (Audi) until WWII. Ferdinand Porsche called him the best driver ever. Salute! 🏁
@@oldschoolracinggames5729 ...until January 28, 1938. That still left Caracciola, Nuvolari, Stuck, and after WWII, Juan Manuel Fangio pretty much owned the new Formula 1 Series through the 1950s. There are as many favorites as competitors.
What a lovely snippet of proper racing ! All respect to our modern racing drivers but there's no way you'd be seen driving in these conditions ! And poor Campari ! This really does illustrate how dangerous racing was ! Thankyou
Oh wow, they are drifting. I thought japan "invented" drifting. How it was even possible to do that? /s Amazing video BTW. I'm not sarcastic on this one. lol
Up until the late 60s you had to drift these cars to get them around corners. Once aero packages came along the need became a lot less. It was not a case of how did they do it but how did they control it, also pay attention to the tires, they are tiny compared to even modern street cars

Wow thank you, I love being reminded that all of my early family member will never see me or anything else again in their eternal prison of blackness living forever constantly until the infinite time finally tick out for our entity of a universe.

@@EricIrl just because its not legal doesn’t mean you can’t do it.
Great footage of pre-war racing. I love to see these old race tracks :)
What an emotional video.
My mother conserved some photos taken by her father, my grandfather, along that Mille Miglia 1933.
Wow!

The era of true heroes!!! Thanks for sharing!!! 🙏🇺🇸
Fabulous record of Motorsport History. 👍🏻👍🏻🏆
Safety in the 30's was essentially- don't crash.
I still drive round the old RAC TT course and dream of the old races in the 30s.
Them Gorgeous Banked tracks!! Bring em back asap!!!
What a fantastic video, thanks for this !!!

If I'm not wrong, Enzo said that he saw in Gilles Villeneuve what he saw in Tazio
Amazing
Would love to see some developer make a sim racing title revolving around pre-war motorsport, with historic cars, tracks and categories.
Well preserved film.
Masterful👏
2:41 Enzo Ferrari (on the right) was the manager of Alfa Romeo team
Not anymore by the time they filmed this. But his scuderia started racing Alfas
Just great + + + +
In the old days the racers were fat and the tires were skinny. Today the drivers are skinny and the tires are fat!
Nuvolari the GOAT
When your head was your roll bar.
And your airbag in one. No seatbelt required.

Campari, Borzacchini...presente!😙
Cool video

Not anymore.
an absolute poppet !
She was super cute! Certainly in heaven. 🙂
To me, she's a classic beauty and likely a lady all the way (with a whole hoard of males chasing her.)
That's me, thank You, i still am btw...
Tazio Nuvolari is a great driver champion.
Rip Alfa Romeo, Bugatti and Maserati
Rip campari
Rip Alfa Romeo and Bugatti
A good friend of mine - Ennio, would call this "fair play"
Mille Miglia, Italia.
N-U-V-O-L-A-R-I!!! XD
@Ralonso - Nuvolari - The greatest driver of his time - period!
Ramsay Macdonald the British prime minister?
Adding screeching noises for cars sliding through sand or over grass is just silly.
Goodwood
What a poignant year!

Coal driven sportscar.
Haha! Incredible. Due to international sanctions, alternatives to the oil that the nation didn't have were experimented
Forza Alfa Romeo
that was to bad on Campari

Deutsche Kommentare wären in diesem Fall besser. Sehr schade.
Almost all of these people are dead now
@Agha Ali Raza - That's a rather somber thought!
Doh
Almost?
Almost all of us will be dead in 87 years time. I know what you mean though :)
