Great video! I just install humminbird gps plus heading sensor. I can get my COG and my Heading to line up going in one direction but, I f I turn atound and head the opposite direction they are off about 20 degrees.
Did you pair your trolling motor to this new puck ?
No, there is a separate GPS puck that came with the MinnKota. However my Humminbird is networked to my MinnKota for features like follow the contour that will use this puck.
Hey, Tommy. Is there a way to reach out to you for doing a product review?
Kindly FB messenger me at Tommy’s Great Outdoors.

Did you need to use the power line that’s coming out of the plug for the gps. It’s plugged and has the orange flag on it.
Only needed to plug it into the head unit. No other power was needed. Hope this helps.
Why do you want the device close to your transducer? You never explained.
Nice video. I would just make a couple of suggestions. Before drilling holes in the boat I would mount it down with tape and go run the boat to check for any interference caused by the outboard, etc. Todays outboards have large output chargers and can cause magnetic interference when running at speed. Same for the trolling motor if you are mounting the unit on the bow. Once you have checked that your location is ok, mount the puck with just one screw so you can rotate the unit to help dial it in. Once you are sure everything is correct, then install the second screw. Can save a lot of frustration, ask me how I know ;-)
