I have been a fan of the high jump event since the days of John Thomas and Charlie Dumas.

Levchenko is nice to look at whether or not she's jumping.
I think that she will eventually clear 2.04. After all, Mahuchikh has done it and Levchenko must feel like she can do it as well.
Lasitskene has won so many high jump events. Is she headed down now? She has cleared 2.06. Maybe that's the best that she will ever do. It is hard for her to keep motivated since she's been the best for several years. Maybe Levchenko and Mahuchikh are passing her by. We will see.
@@pukulu she came so close but the bar fell, mahhucikh shook the bar a little but it did not fall.
I think mahhuchikh has the potential of 2:10 because of her youth, and she is still growing taller each year, with those long legs, and her coach was also a pro high jumper.
But she has got to get a much more consistent technique.
Yuliya, has a great consistent technique, but I only see her going 2:08 a the highest, but I hope I am wrong, I really would love for either of the Ukrainians ladies to break the women's high jump record, before they retire, they are just about .05m-.07 m away
Of course Maria from Russia is so dominant, she almost always wins and jumps over 2.0 meters, and has cleared 2:06 multiple times.
She has definitely paid her dues, before she became e dominant high jumper she is.
I would also be happy if she breaks the record.
Can she enter the olympics in Tokyo, or are they banning Russian athletes still?
Seems like a terrible ban, you are only supposed to punish the cheaters, not every athlete in the country.
@@pukulu well until someone else clears 2:06 multiple times, she will stay the best and favorite to win every event she enters.
She has only lost a handfull of times in the last 3-4 years.
I am hoping someone can challenge her consistently, and not just once in a blue moon, when she has a bad day.
Only then will we see those records go good bye.
She is a winner no matter if she loses or wins
