For those who were asking, I reached out to Godox to ask what camera's will work with the flashes, and they said they're compatible with all because of the 1 pin it uses!
Thanks for this ! I was wonder because I have a Nikon Z5!
@@lior2538 Will be a great setup I think! Let me know how it goes 🙌🏼
thanks for being one of the few creators I've been able to find who actually went through the trouble of shooting it with film and then actually posting the results. Great review.
Thanks mate & no problem at all, glad you enjoyed it!
I just got mine today, gonna shoot a roll of Ektar 100 on it this weekend if I get a chance, but I have a roll of Fujifilm 400 in rn and I’m already using it. I broke it in on a cropped sensor digital just so I could see some immediate results and adjust my guesses for a little bit before switching to my AE 1
I got the senior to specify.
@@Kwright304 good way to check if you’re doing everything the right way! Let me know how the results on film come through!
@@TIPSinc01 I will! I’m extremely experienced with godox flashes in general and I actually have used my v1 on my AE-1 to shoot film with amazing results both bounce flash and direct, but what im finding is that 1) I don’t want to pack a V1 in my film bag when im just having fun, it’s a lightweight setup the way I have it, and 2) no one notices im shooting film when I do and as im doing it at weddings im paid to shoot at I thought it would be cool to add the retro feel so that people are having the same amount of fun with it as me. I shoot Polaroid too and I’ve noticed a HUGE difference in the responses to my SX-70 than my more modern Polaroids because people visually see the vintage gear and my AE-1 is beautiful but it’s all black and looks like a mirrorless Sony lol
very excited to get one of these. This is great for anyone who uses different cameras often. not having to worry about compatibility is a huge bonus. Also a great video overall. Your set up and flow of the video is fantastic. keep up the work
That’s amazing to hear mate! And definitely let me know your experiences when you get
one! 🙏🏼✌🏼
Thanks for this. I just bought the Godox Lux Senior for my canon AE-1 and an auto winder. Super stoked this week and for my indoor photos
You’re welcome and congratulations on the flash! Have fun with it and let me know how the photos turned out! 😁
Great review. Already a fan of the channel.
Thanks Michael, and that’s good to hear! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I need to pick this one up! Great pictures mate.
Thanks mate! Yeah they work amazing!
Great and informative video!! I have the Lux Senior and now I just purchased the Junior ;) Thanks!! oh @10:13 ;) Thank You!!
Thanks a lot Mario! Glad that you liked it. Let me know how the junior is working out for ya! 😁🙌🏼
Your video convinced me to get the Lux Senior! Got yourself a new subscriber
Thanks mate! Love to hear that 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
beautifully done!
Thanks a lot Kent!
Loved the video. I thought the portraits were fantastic with both flashes. My respect.
Thanks Brian! That’s good to hear! 🙏🏼
got this flash a month ago and it fits my style perfectly
Great! You’ve got the junior or senior?
@@TIPSinc01 junior lux paired with my xt3 and 23mm f2 fuji lens😋
@@liamivarsson amazing combo I think!
I think l might try one for my 100v and om5 I usually carry.
@@WhoIsSerafin great fit I think!
Great review and images. I wanted to see how the lighting looked on the senior light and glad you discussed about using a power bank option. I'll have to watch the video again but do you recall how many shots you took with the senior flash before the batteries died? I'm looking to use this flash for event photography.
Thanks! I took a couple, but I didn't even charge it before use, came directly out of the box lol! But I think the senior has a pretty good battery life.
great video bro!
Thanks mate! 🙏🏼🙏🏼✌🏼
Love it ❤
Thanks! 🙏🏼
Pretty cool looking flashes, esp the senior. In both models, I like the variable power settings, and the prices. But no swivel or bounce flash capability is a deal-breaker for me. I see you used off-camera flash, though, so you must’ve done that in manual mode. I assume you can’t do off-camera in auto mode?
Yeah they look cool indeed, but they don’t have the swivel option as you say. That’s why I wanted to use the sync cord with it. I don’t think the auto mode will work, or works properly when you have it not directly on the camera. But I’m not sure because I haven’t tested that out.
The best part of this video is your girlfriend. I really enjoy the humor you put in it. After watching your review I’m heading out right now to purchase the Lux Senior. 😂
Haha I’ll pass the note! Thanks mate, love to hear that! Let me know how it goes 🙌🏼
@@TIPSinc01 I truly enjoy the Lux senior. I’ve only tried it a few times. I’m pairing it with my Leica M3 and it looks awesome. Thanks for the thorough review!
@@JumpingWill that’s amazing!
Hey! Thanks for your great review, it sold me on it. Question: I'm not able to get the flash to work with the flash cable you recommended with my 5D mkiii. Any idea why?
Good to hear my friend! Could be because it’s a Nikon cable. And those modern cameras could have some issues with other brands maybe.
Good work
Thanks mate!
i love it
Thank you! 🙏🏼
I bought the retro flash junior because of your video! but for some reason , the flash is not working even though the test indicator is green?
Hi! Let's see, because that's of course not good! What camera are you using? And sometimes it helps to clean the contacts on the camera's hot shoe and the flash. Please let me know and I'll be happy to help out if I can!
Nice video👍🏿
Thanks mate!
Wonderful review. Qst: what is the cable that you use with the senior and camera to hand hold the flash?
Thank you! It’s the Nikon SC-28. Got a link right here: geni.us/QqM9e
@@TIPSinc01 thank you. I have fuji so I can use canon type ive read.
@@-OEG hmm okay yeah then this won’t work I think.
I have a nikon fm2 with flash sync speed ar 1/250, does the godox lux junior work with?
It should work on all cameras!
How was the junior on the M6 fit-wise? Sometimes those style flashes aren’t flush with the back in the M bodies and they get in the way of getting your eye to the viewfinder?? Did you have this problem with either flash?
No not at all! Only when wearing a cap and the Senior.
Ok so as long as no hats are on, neither of these should interfere with getting to the viewfinder haha. Thanks 😊
@@longboarddancingworld6861 indeed haha!
I picked up the Godox Jr. as well and really like the results with the digital cam, but on the M6 it does kinda get in the way of the viewfinder for me lol. When the Jr. is on I can't get my eye all the way to the viewfinder and have trouble seeing the frame lines :-( Anything comparable you'd recommend in this price range?
@@longboarddancingworld6861 oh really? I had no problems with that at all with the Jr. Sad to hear that. The only other flash I really use a lot is the Leica SF20, you could check that out on eBay for a good price I think. 🙏🏼
Do u Thing the Flaches will Work on a Leica m240 ?
Yes I think so! You could check it to be sure on their website I think.
Sorry. Again. 😊 I assume you like the Senior better? I like the look on the camera. But the junior is really nice for my FujiFilm x100f. 🤔
I actually like the junior better 😏. The form factor and low power option is great!
More photo shoots please
I will! Glad you liked it! 😁
Is the flash cord you used/linked compatible with film cameras?
I used it with my Leica M6 in this episode, so yes haha 😂
@@TIPSinc01 LOL you're right, you did, I'm dense hahaha
@@ericestrada6283 🤣🤣🤣
Me again, I got the Godox Senior and just tried firing a few frames with it on my M6 (non-TTL) and it never triggered the flash, I'm not sure why 😭 It's definitely charged and I'm firing it on manual and the camera is at the 1/50th shutter speed. I shouldn't need the PC cable for right, the M6 has a hot shoe?
Nevermind, user error. Forgot to pop the bulb out lollllll fail.
It should work on the hot shoe for sure! I think there might be something wrong then with the connection. Try cleaning it, but do other flashes work on it? Then there might be something wrong with the flash… sad to hear, hope you’ll figure it out!
@@TIPSinc01 I got it haha, look up to my own foolish reply to myself, but thanks for checking on me 🙂
@@longboarddancingworld6861 haha I see! I’m glad that everything works now haha! 😁
Great video! How did you work out flash output please?
Thank you Jason! I used an external lightmeter.
How long is your flash cord?
I don’t know really. I’ve got the Nikon sc-28!
bro please put chapters in your video
I have 4 film and 2 digital cameras. Can I use these flashes on all my cameras?
Yes I do think you can! But to be sure I would check it on their website. ✌🏼
We’re you able to get your answer? I have both to and I want a flash to.
@@letsgopops I’ll see if I can get an answer. I’ll put it in these comments when I know more!
@@letsgopops Not yet. I know it’s dangerous to use a flash that’s made for a film camera on a digital camera, but maybe Godox has found a way to accommodate both camera types with these flashes?
@@TIPSinc01 awesome brother.
you're girlfriend is adorable~~ nice review, very helpful and straightforward 👍👍👍
Haha appreciate that a lot! 🙏🏼 Glad that I could be helpful!
S/O for Lloyd banks shirt
😎
Oo nice Jop zijn fotograaf is jou GF !👍🏼
Haha klopt! 😁
@@TIPSinc01 Die kan ook wel banger foto's maken.
Leuke video btw. Keep it up.
TBH to me most of your shots look overexposed, I'd personally tune down flash power a bit... or consider AUTO mode :)) Thanks for the video!
Well, they’re not overexposed but I did went for a more punchy look with the direct flash. But that’s a personal taste of course. And I would never shoot on auto haha! 😋 - You’re welcome mate!
That's the style, bro... And it looks way better than those boring perfect exposed images.
AHAHHAHAHA NICE ONE BROTHER
😁
Thanks bro! And thanks for being a part of the video haha! ✌🏼
Your girlfriend is hilarious with her laugh.
Haha I know right 😂
Ezra Miller?
Yes?
Niceeee you decided to shoot your mother. That’s so sweet.
My mother?! 😭
i think your AF sucks not the flash..
Who said the flash sucks? And I don’t even have auto focus 😭
