    I don’t understand how the Godox flash is working since you’re not giving it an input on your shutter speed or I’m I missing something?

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 9 годин тому

      The only thing you need to consider is the sync speed of your camera with flash. Otherwise shutter speed doesn’t impact the flash output, only the environmental light and of course the movement. But flash also freezes the subject a lot.

    • @diegocasares6968
      @diegocasares6968 Годину тому

      @@TIPSinc01 Thank you for your answer!! I guess I have to try it my self to understand it completely because I can't understand how is it that the Sutter speed won't affect the overall exposure of the image. Mi canon syncs at 1/125 so if every other setting stays the same between my camera and yours (ASA/IRIS/ DISTANCE TO MY SUBJECT) my image would be under exposed by a little more then a stop. Im I missing something?

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 Годину тому

      @ I get it, it’s hard to wrap your mind around haha. Shutter speed only affects ambient light. The flash is always too fast for the shutter so it doesn’t affect the exposure. Only the power of the flash or the aperture will affect those.

      You’re naming countries not cities. When I traveled to Thailand the only place was Bangkok, places like Phuket didn’t have any, let alone the rural regions I went to in the north. I went to Sicily, Italy. No film no lab. Surinam, no film no lab. You can probably find a film store and a lab in a lot of countries. But then you have to plan your trip around being able to go to a lab/film store.

    • @BernardTreyvaud
      @BernardTreyvaud 4 дні тому

      @ I guess if you go to Hurricane Utah you probably will not find what you’re looking for perhaps like in Phuket or Taormina, in my Country if you go to such place like Davos or Zermatt you will not find the film you want or a lab. Traveling requires a bit of planning. Nice photographing week end to you!

    I would not say that the AE1 is a good, let alone the best beginners film camera. These cameras are easy enough to use, but don't lend themselves to manually setting the exposure, and they don't have an exposure compensation dial. The AE1 is not a bad camera, though they do tend to suffer from some age related problems rather more than some other cameras of the same, or even earlier era. The AE1 was in production from 1976 to 1984. There are better, less hyped, cameras that a beginner could choose.

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 9 днів тому

      I don't see why it doesn't lend to manual exposure? This camera can be used totally manual, and if you want to compensate just set the ISO rating a stop lower or higher. It's true that they are older cameras, but that also means for a beginner they are a bit cheaper.

    • @urbanimage
      @urbanimage 9 днів тому

      @@TIPSinc01 The whole selling point of the AE1 when it came on to the market, and the reason I bought one in 1976 (I still have it, though it has developed a problem) was that it was the first SLR to offer shutter priority metering system at I time when everyone else sold aperture priority SLRs. The AE1 can do manual metering, but it's cumbersome, and bearing in mind that you're recommending this to beginners. This is the manual metering process: Select your shutter speed, move the aperture ring off "A" on to the aperture scale, and half-depress the shutter button. The aperture/exposure pointer in the viewfinder should shift to indicate the f-stop that the camera would use for that shutter speed when in Auto mode. You then set the f-stop on the aperture to ring, or select a different f-stop of course. Hardly svelte.

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 8 днів тому

      @@urbanimage sure I agree on it not being the smoothest manual experience. But it’s definitely possible in my opinion. I think it’s good for a beginner because it has those priority/auto options but also capable of being manual. A beginner to film, but maybe also to photography in general could use those a lot before going fully manual.

  • @Thorpal
    @Thorpal 10 днів тому

    Trust me, you can be slightly drunk at a concert and go hand held at 1/30 and nailed it and then get blurry pictures at 1/125. It mostly depends on how sturdy YOU are when you press the shutter. Otherwise, besides its size, the P6x7 is a joy to use and IMO way less cumbersome than the RZ/RB 67. The camera/lens ecosystem is cheaper than the RZ - I own the 105mm, the 45mm and the really fun 35mm fisheye. The only drawback is flash speed sync though. But if you shoot portraits and don't need your subjet to do fast movement it's more than enough.

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 9 днів тому

      I wouldn't recommend that lol but it's possible. Of course it depends on how sturdy you are but overall the mirror slap and and heft of the camera will need a more steady situation. I really think that for a lot of people who like to shoot SLR's the Pentax 67 is a very good option. I also didn't have any issues with the flash sync speed, but I never have also not on rangefinders.

    Colors and contrast can always be adjusted later. The V600 is not sharp no matter how hard you try to properly position the negative or, make it perfectly flat. It always gives soft images. I had a V600 and it was a waste of money. Eventually, the inside of the glass of the bed fills with dust and becomes foggy. There is no way to take it apart and clean it. With DSLR scanning, you focus on the grain and the original sharpness of the image is captured.

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 12 днів тому

With the M2’s manual frame counter, it can be bumped while in your bag or over the shoulder and throw off your placing. It’s a small reason, but if you finish a whole roll in one setting, it’s not a problem. Great video! The pics are so beautiful, so much details and great colour. I have just started my medium format journey, having picked up a Rolleiflex last week. Even though I have my doubt on the 6x6 format, I'll give it a try, knowing that the Rolleiflex would produce good pics. The Mamiya 7 would be on the top of my list should I get hooked on medium format. I have never visited the camera shop in Delft but a quick check shows that it would cost 4000 to 4500 for a good one with a wide angle lens. If I want an 80mm lens for taking portrait the cost would add up steeply. Thanks again for the nice video.

      Thanks a lot mate! That roleiflex is a beautiful camera and I think you’ll enjoy it for sure. 6x6 is incredible, but you have to love it. I do lol 😂. The mamiya 7 has a hefty price for sure.. so you’ll need to be sure about that before buying it. I would recommend using the rolleiflex for a while and after that see if it’s worth it or not! Have fun 🙏🏼

    Great video, completely agree. Only thing I dont like about it…especially compared to the hasselblad…is that it has the MOST unsatisfying shutter click ever!

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 18 днів тому

      Thanks mate! Yes it’s not satisfying at all. But that also brings some positives with it. Low shutterspeeds and all.

    Great video! I love my m7, I've shot a few on location editorials with it. Worked great as long as I kept the model in the very central of the frame. I have a pentax 67ii also now, which I now use for this kind of on-location run and gun editorial shoot. Closer minimum focusing, Matrix metering, slr field of view & focusing for off center focusing, a larger lense selection like a fisheye etc make it a bit more suited for this kind of thing. Although the larger size and the slower loading due to the socket spools is a downer. So for me of course it can be used for portraits and fashion, however a p67, rb67, hassie are normally better suited. These days I use my Mamiya 7 whenever I just go for something unplanned like a wander on the weekend, Its also the 120 camera for me when I travel, shoot landscape, epic urban/city scenes etc. The price hurt, but I don't think I'll ever sell mine.

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 19 днів тому

      Yeah in the end I think you can use it for anything. But some are just better suited for other purposes. It’s such a good camera so I might consider it still!

    I'm a bit late to the conversation maybe, but it is still not clear what Roll analysis does that goes beyond when we use the same white balance and tint settings for all images on the roll. Another thing, I used to do some of the same process you went on some images: starting with a flatter approach and from there building the changes until later I've realised my end result wasn't that far from LAB - Standard. So recently I've started using LAB - Standard for color and LINEAR - Gamar for b&w as my starting point. Anyway, I do like your editing and how the images look at the end. knap werk !

    • @TIPSinc01
      @TIPSinc01 Місяць тому

      In my understanding it speeds up the workflow. Definitely when you have shot all the frames in the same light condition. That way the colors will match more with each other. And yes that's a perfect way to do it, start off somewhere and see what you like. In your case those presets work well! Thanks a lot mate!
