You should honestly become a teacher. This video was very clear and straight to the point which is more than I can say for the tutorials given by my teachers at University.
Hi Michael, usually I edit those out, but I thought making mistakes is common... so why not show that it's ok to make mistakes while you create art!Thank you for your support. :)
Right what i wanted to know. So simple and fast. Thank you very much. Now its time to sub and watch your other videos :) Btw, is it possible to make transparent cloth like curtains in arnold? I tried to make this via transmission (In aiStandardSurface) but it looked more like the glass, not the cloth. Sorry if there is already a video about it. If there is, i’ll find it myself
Hi Slav, thank you for your comment! I appreciate the sub! You want to use Opacity which is found under geometry in the shader. I go over it here! Hope that helps. :) ua-cam.com/video/7p_k41H3Stg/v-deo.html
Academic Phoenix Plus that helped A LOT. And thank you A LOT. I started to learn maya half a year ago and there are still so many undiscovered things for me there and i am happy that there are people like you, who are trying to help and share their priceless knowledge.
Hi, for some reason, the area light no longer works while using arnold skydome. i'm using maya 2018 and i've never encountered this problem before. Could you please help?
Thank you for the message Olivier! It's a regular textures from Maya. I used the Checker texture and changes the colors to light and dark grey. All procedural! :)
thank you so much ..its really helpful...the most confusing thing for me is render setting..it would be great help if you could explain render setting in detail.. thank you

Trust me, I've been using Maya for years and it feels that I only scratched the surface. it's fun, because it's a never ending learning process. :)

At 10:54 when you turned of and on the "Illuminates By Default" you lost your shadows. Just saying.
You are right. Once you refresh the Arnold window (Close/open it up again), it will bring the shadows back. :)
Hey, i just want to ask how to hide the area light emitter. Is it possible or not ??
Great tutorial! Only thing is that I don't know how to apply that checker texture on the plane.
