  • On 29th January at 12pm EST, we had very special guest to come along and talk about his trading journey. Many of you will know Steve from the Jigsaw chat room and will have seen him post his trade results over and over again. Steve has no professional trading background, he sits at home and trades like most retail traders. Well - with the exception that he does well at it. He is primarily a scalper, taking small bites out of the market. In the webinar he discussed:
    The turning point - when Steve asked Jigsaw about buying a course and I refused to sell it to him as it was clear knowledge was not an issue.
    How he scalps the market ranges.
    Sizing/Scaling.
    The problems he faced and how he overcame them.
    How using less stuff gave him better results.
    Problems he still has.
    Some live trading results.
    Tools he uses.
    Creating a corporation and the tax benefits.
    Steve is a 3 year veteran of Futures Trading and was introduced to Jigsaw Trading’s products about a year and a half ago. He makes his home outside of Sacramento, CA with his wife. His background includes being a law enforcement officer, working in Investigative Services, and also working with several Coroner’s offices for over 20 years. He has also been involved in different entrepreneurial endeavors ranging from direct sales to owning 2 service corporations.

      How are you doing?

    Just my 2 cents, but I see a high correlation between the MAE / number of contracts and the time spend a trade, a trade that then results in a small profit. That doesn't seem to indicate you cut your loses but instead average down and maybe trade in and out of some contracts to eventually get a small profit. Are you not worried that one of those trades might result in a "blow up my account" kind of trade, like you mentioned?

      Your question has me wondering if Journalytix is smart enough to aggregatge those kinds of trades and track the flat-to-flat theoretical average and flat-to-flat MAE/MFE.

      @@kunou4527is this why at 56:16 top line you gain 18 ticks with 3 cons and only make $16.12?
      Just not sure how how you didn’t get $12.50*3 at 18 ticks in us the $3.96 commission but only shows $16 profit.
      I get working into full position in an area and using last con to get out at smaller loss or break even if wrong or hitting a max loss if continues against you but averaging down with no limits for each entry or the total always leads to large outlier losses for me. Like he say, I still struggle with this myself from time to time. And as we know it only takes one time to either damage or destroy a lot, and ridiculously quickly too!

    congrats! incredible results. Do you think it has to do with market conditions or is it consistent?

      Time will tell - but he's trading small ranges, which should in theory be more difficult in volatile conditions.

    very insteresting! I watched the whole video, very inspiring! One question I have. When you win 1k$ a day, how much do you risk to loose at the maximum? Whats your stake per day?

    So how is Steve doing these days (Feb 2022)??

  • @HitAndMissLab

    I'm not so sure about his risk management strategy. She lets a trade go 30 points ( or ticks ? ) against him, only to take 2 points profit. What if trade goes long way against him and his account gets completely wiped out?

    • @907Blademan
      @907Blademan 3 місяці тому

      30 points but you look at what he stands to lose and it’s not even what he regularly makes in one day, and it’s not often, and probably just mitigating a loss at a smart key area you’d likely see a retrace back to nearer BE. It can go sideways if you’re not prepared to stop out on your last add though for damn sure. It can be trading around a core though, why the first entry is small or 1 con for ex

    when Steve says he doesn't trade the open, what is the open exactly? first 30 minutes? first 20 minutes? first 5-10 minutes? first hour?

    • @kunou4527
      @kunou4527 4 роки тому

      It's roughly the first hour, when the initial balance is formed. Although, Steidlmayer always said it can depend on the instrument.
