Leaping back into action, gun-slinging, guitar-toting hero "El Mariachi" is back in town in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO, as director Robert Rodriguez delivers the epic final chapter of his pulp Western trilogy. Starring Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Johnny Depp, Mickey Rourke, Eva Mendes, Enrique Iglesias and Willem Dafoe ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO is a full-frontal assault.
That Clash of the Titans lunchbox though!
That's Johnny at 40years old...he looked like a 20yr old...wow...
Really?! Ugh I have terrible genes. I think Hitler would have killed me first. Generally when I meet people they either want to kill me out right or set me on fire because Im so ugly.
Men usually peak around that age. After 50 it’s downhill
Ofc depends on lifestyle
39 but close enough.
Tf
He's 40?i should be dead
Salma Hayek and whoever her stunt double is here both have KILLER figures 😅🤤
This movie teaches everyone a very valuable lesson. Always double tap your enemies.
not "always carry a spare arm"?
You wouldn't dare...
I will keep that in mind
No... that movie is zombieland... nothing to do with it...
And nothing to do with "Double tap" the movie neither...
Deep's performance gives this movie an edge that's icing on top
HaHaHa Johnny *DEEP* 🤣🤦😂😂😂
@@donarthiazi2443 oh come on it's typo...... Besides Johnny Deep is his porno name
@@Shinobi33
Yeah but sometimes a typo is too much fun to let pass. And btw I like that porno handle you gave Mr Deep.
Here, have my one single thumbs-up
That was deep, man!
he's never watched it, but he also most likely feels tragically sad for people that idolise his stupid films
the most scary thing in this scene is the glass of water on the table. This is Mexico , remember...
Please explain
@@phantomwraith1984 If you go to Mexico and drink any water from a tap or even ice, you become violently ill for weeks and could actually die without medication. It's called "Montezuma's revenge" and has stricken so many people who traveled there. During the filming of "Total Recall in the 80's, Arnold Schwarzenegger was the only one who brought his own food, the whole crew made fun of him. Everyone on set eventually became violently ill, and they weren't laughing anymore. They were to busy vomiting and losing control of their bowels to laugh.
Yeah I don’t kno what it means
@@phantomwraith1984 you can't drink the water there it something that makes you sick
Purification of water isn't top quality in mexico. Safest to always drink bottled water.
Describing Salma Hayek as the most "drop dead gorgeous woman you'll ever see" is a very accurate statement. Probably the most accurate and precise thing in existence.
When we were younger, my friends and I used to argue about if Salma Kayek or Catherine Zeta was the hottest woman on the planet.
From dusk till dawn, she is so ooo good in that movie
...Once upon a time.
Agreed
In every man's heart there is a Mexican mistress
Antonio Banderas was such a badass
He still is a badass.
“the most drop dead gorgeous woman you’ll ever see”. This description fits salma hayek really well tbh. Even in her 50’s she’s still a damn dime.
Yep... she might be only 4'9" but she's still thicc & stacked!
shes about 4'9 which makes for an interesting surprise if you ever meet her in person.
A midget
A gilf
@@c.galindo9639 No no no, still a MILF.
Agreed. That woman is so naturally beautiful.
Ah. The algorithm has lead you to... the mariachi.
We are blessed by the algorithm, brethren!
I was looking for Mariachi music and here we are
"El"
“You wouldn’t kill me over 10,000 dollars” dude I think he’d kill you over a lot less
Johnny mouthing, "YES I WOULD" as Cheech walks away saying, "You wouldn't dare!" got me
He killed a chef just cause he liked his food
"Bigger than most of us"
Cheech speaking fax
This movie was so campy and over-the-top. I need to watch it again.
goddamn i love mexico. born in chile. went to canada lived there til my 20s moved to mexico. made my business work. met my wife who’s half Jamaican and half Mexican (wooooooo) have 4 kids and still love her and love Mexico like it’s my true home.
You have any daughters over 21?
Exciting life you have.
That's a nice life you have I'm glad for you
Same I lived around Latin America for 5 years but Mexico is the only Latin America country where I got no racism for being white but treated like one of their family, probably the most coolest people on earth that are not so deluded and head up their ass like most latin American countries.
Weon
The way he whispers yes I would, priceless way to show off some character. Something as little as that gives you a plethora of knowledge about this guy’s personality. It’s tells you as he says, yes he would, that’s he’s dangerous and even somewhat immature. He doesn’t take his enemies seriously enough which is why he loses his eyes. And Johnny was the perfect choice for it because he plays it so well.

I really love how this movie followed after the first. Also Cheech Marin and Johnny Depp’s characters in the opening scene is so well for the buildup.
Really a great way to start a story
This movie doesn't follow after the first, it follows after the second. And given that the events of the flashback are so turbulent and fleshed out, you could even say it follows a "third" non-existent film
@@TheMiddlingGamer the first movie is Desperado. There isn’t one between these two that I have heard of that follows this storyline
@@c.galindo9639 I think they are talking about the trilogy as a whole, with desperado being the second in the trilogy
@@c.galindo9639 The first movie is El Mariachi........................................
@@kayamuratoglu9262 hmm. So what movie came before Desperado as I recognize that as the first movie that started it all
That clash of the titans lunch box is worth a pretty penny too.
🤣
Always a fan of the idea of a souped up guitar that has gun toting capabilities
It’s actually a great idea too
Have you seen desperado? El’s mariachi homies had machine guns in their guitar cases
@@JEG69 yup. One was a machine gun and the other a rocket launcher while he had his arsenal of guns in his guitar case
What made Depp so hilarious in this movie was how subtle he was tho: for example when Cheech tells him: "you wouldn't dare take me out for 10,000... you wouldn't dare!!." Depp's reply Is muttering very softly "yes i will". I just saw this movie again in a retro theater after 20 years when it was newly released theaters nationwide, talk about flashbacks.
"Yes, I would"
@@TrailCamCaptureshe just saw it and still misquoted 🤣
people like you are so pathetic to the point i don't believe you're real
uhh yeah we all just saw that same scene and understand why it's great. thanks for pointing out the obvious.
If the word BOMBASTIC was a movie, it would be this one!!!!....
It think Johnny Depp should watch this movie he made, at least this once, it deserves it lol
Salma Hayek, my goodness. Fine doesn't describe it.
Her billionaire husband agrees with you.
6:10 i laughed so hard when he putted the fake arm away, and even more when he agressively putted it in his bag 😂
I missed the golf
Everybody saw all three right? This is a trilogy so badass the first original one isn't Antonio he comes after
I love how the bartender moves his bar out of the way before the gun fight then when Salma "Smoking Hot" Hayek enters the scene, the bartender moves it back. I get it!! "I said G@d damn G@d damn!!!"
Memories
Johnny depp steals the whole movie.
fantastic movie and even better soundtracks
Hugs and kisses for Johnny
Idk why but the look on his face at 3:28 always had me rolling 😂 this movie had some of the best casting, and film work, music, comedic timing, action, just everything.
This guy must be the worst customer for restaurants ever.
These movies were so much fun
god i love how absurd this movie is
I watched this with my husband during a binge of the entire Mariachi trilogy. Once Upon a Time in Mexico does not even remotely hit the same way if you haven't watched the previous two movies before you see this. This is one of those movies where you really can't understand how awesome it is without the previous two.
Also, for the record, MST3K summed up Sands in a nutshell years ago. "He's basically a serial killer sanctioned by the government." Yes. Yes he is.
Now I really want that guitar
I really want that lunch box
@@rickmaldoo4205 check out thrift stores and antique malls, you'd be surprised on what you can find
The lunchbox I had. Wish I still had it.
are you mexican or mexicant? - jonny depp
The funny thing behind the scene of this film is Johnny Depp never met Banderas at shooting location.
Right? Actors in the same film but never meeting one another on the set is actually pretty common. Actors are usually paid (very well of course) for days of shooting and can be contracted to several movies on a schedule that's back to back.
Why is this still 100's better than Rodriguez's newest movie Hypnotic. 😢
I love Johnny Depp ❤️🔥🩸
He was such a nice actor before he got spoiled on that pirates of the Caribbean garbage.
I saw this opening night back in 2003 and hardly anyone was there. Damn good film and excellent performances from everyone - especially Depp.
Depp chose his wardrobe, the t shirts like the C.I.A. - “Cleavage Inspection Agency” and “I’m with stupid.” He also brought the fake mustache with him and director Robert Rodriguez loved it and used it.
Describing Salma Hayek, as a dropdead gorgeous is really undermining her beauty, the sensuality she has is beyond belief
Salma Hayek is so beautiful that I am upset that there is only one of her.
Penelope Cruz
Did anyone thought you need will hell of a craftsman to make a guitar gun combo ….
the incontinuity and corniness of this movie compared to desperado makes it a cult classic lol
In fairness this was a bad movie and a let down to the franchise. The story was mixed and made no sense of the connection from the main story. I was really upset and Johnny's character was redundant!!
I wanna start learning to play the electric guitar 16 with alternate grenade launcher capabilities. Good diverse instrument to pick up.
He forgot to kill the cook.
You really need to watch the movie again.
And this time play attention.
One of depp's finest roles imo

Such a good movie. I've seen quite a few of his movies. Beautiful movie you wouldn't dare. Cheech is something. I love Johnny's facial expressions. And they spit.

The shopkeeper is played by the same actor as the barman in Desperado 1 right ? (and judging by his eyes, he could be the same character as well^^)
Bro, that's the legendary Cheech Marin. Ever heard of Cheech & Chong?
@@theshapeexists Once Upon a Time in Mexico is a sequel to Desperado. In both movies Cheech plays similar characters, but in Desperado he gets shot in the head.
Though he gets shot in the forehead in Desperado, I wouldn't be surprised if this is meant to be a retcon of him getting shot in the eye and almost dying, but ultimately surviving and becoming this guy.
Also, Once Upon a Time in Mexico is the last film in the Mariachi trilogy, but because El Mariachi (the first film) as made on a budget of $7,000, it didn't really get a wide release like the others did.

What an awful movie.
The anger of the arm not going in the bag like its supposed to is the best part, hes done this a few times and it still pisses him off
Eye-patch guy sounds a lot like Jackie Welles.
I read somewhere about a theory that this whole trilogy is the same story, told three different ways - El Mariachi tells it as it really happened, Desperado expands it to a local legend, and then this movie blows it up to national folklore.
"Look, this story is well-traveled, okay? It might have picked up some...embellishments along the way. Just read between the lines."
I went there once - I didn't wear gloves, mind... it was good - I think we were in Guatamala. A bloke was drunk in the cantena and emptied his pistol - blam blam blam he go. Everybody fall to the ground sensibly except me I was too slow... good larf though, innit. I like their food. Nice place. Poor, mind... lots of dog shit everywhere
