our country is beautiful as well so are our people!
we have 4 seasons in pakistan!
we have high mountains including world 2nd highest mountain! worlds 8 out of 14 highest mountains are in pakistan!
we also have forests we have hot desert as well as cold desert surrounded by mountains covered by snow!
on one part of our country the temperature is 30 to 50 centigrade while at the same time on the other part of pakistan temperature is 0 to -15 centigrade and all this during summer season now just imagine the winter season! extreme cold!
our people are very unique in whole Asia i mean we have Chinese looking people in pakistan in the extreme south west and Indian looking people in the south and central pakistan!
and at the north western part ( kpk gilgit provinces) you will find European looking people with fair and white skin!
and the most interesting and lovely thing is that we also have black African looking people ooh men! that's pure diversity.
Such a beautiful country! Food looks delicious! Wish I had some! What a great education to be able to travel and see everything you have.

Why Pakistan for a visit: a country which has mutiple arts of ancient era, the south/north/east/west is like the four seasons with multiple terrains.
One big reason: within one three weeks time, one can experience it all. Very few countries around the globe offer at such a small and inexpensive cost.

I am from gilgit .ya its true that sco lounched 4g sevice in gilgit baltistan but network is too slow in most of the areas. ZONG also advterise its 4g network but sco officials get stay order from gilgit high court and said that other networks could not allowed to provide 4g service in gilgit baltistan .4 days ago finally telenor and sco made an agreement and finally telenor liunched its 4g network in gilgit baltistan .

I too travel with two young kids (girls close to your sons ages) and it poses different challenges than a single male travelling. I read some of the comments and replies and feel that Wahid, your guide and your driver seems like really sincere people. My younger brother use to save his pocket money for that Chappli kebab at Ramzan Hotel Gilgit :)
No doubt it is one of the best around the world.... By the way, you missed the following food items in Gilgit Baltistan :
1. Dumplings ( Steamed ones called mamtu locally )
2. Chap Shoro ( Beff Patty inside baked bread )
3. Trout Fish ( can't find any fish that tasty, even Salmon which is so highly-priced is not even close)
4. Yak/Markhor meat dishes.
5. Local dishes list is long but they are not famous and have very fewer spices in them.
P.S. That $12 bill made me sigh !! as I paid Johny rocket $12 for a burger that was tasteless :(

I actually have a lot to say but let me just jump into the most important points but first of all WELCOME to Pakistan! You are an amazing family doing some great work. I know you've heard alot of stuff about Pakistan but here you are seeing it for yourself that its completely safe here. People are nice and hospitable for the sheer joy of it, thats it, no strings attached.
I like your older son because he seems foodie and sort of the guy who doesnt care much about anything else as long as there is food around the corner lol.
The food, well you are missing everything about Pakistani food as long as you are not in the Peshawar and Mardan region specially Chapli Kabab because that sir is "not a good fix" AT ALL.
I dont know if you will read my comment or not but if you are planning to come to Peshawar or Mardan, we will be honored to have you here.
