    Here's another way to tie a cased October caddis larva.
    The Limnephilidae is a family of caddisflies, which are aquatic insects belonging to the order Trichoptera. They are commonly found in freshwater habitats such as streams and rivers. Caddisflies in the family Limnephilidae are known for constructing protective cases made of various materials like sand, pebbles, and/or plant debris. These cases provide camouflage and protection for the larval stage of the caddisfly.

    Really good looking - Gary LaFontaine would be proud. Clever trick using pheasant tips for the legs, very realistic looking. I tend to prefer soft hackles, though, to get a little more movement, in currents. Though there's no way to quantify any fish catching difference - we're just here to have fun.

    Absolutly superb, problem is you would be risking life and limb to get that back if you got hung up on the bottom.

      How long do you give the silicon to cure and do you coat the case with resin to protect it?

    • @flytyingzonedavehise
      @flytyingzonedavehise  23 дні тому

      @gryffe1690 it usually sets up in about 30 minutes but fully cures in 24 hours. Sometimes, I put a little resin and extra pebbles if the areas on the case need filling in.

    а эбоксидную смолу не вариант использовать что ли , домик должен быть гораздо длиннее и ручейник совершенно не похож( лапки у него у самой морды стоят а не на полтела --как вы раскарячили) , уф лак что вы использовали отлетит поле первой же проводки по каменистому дну - в общем херня полная
