- In The Valley is a song adapted from the prayer "Valley of Vision" from the Puritans' prayer book of the same name. Sung by Shannon Harris.
The original prayer in The Valley of Vision goes:
Lord, high and holy, meek and lowly,
Thou hast brought me to the valley of vision,
where I live in the depths but see Thee in the heights;
hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold Thy glory.
Let me learn by paradox that the way down is the way up,
that to be low is to be high,
that the broken heart is the healed heart,
that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit,
that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess all,
that to bear the cross is to wear the crown,

I have lost my faith once due to so many difficulties in my life.. still God kept His promises to me.. and He fulfilled all His promises. .I would never imagined what He had prepared.. Still when we lose faith, He keeps faithful...
@@vsilte2 same the charismatic movment did not help. With so many chanting promises rather then telling the truth like job. Leaders like rc sproul, steven lawson really help my faith. And strong leader of the past who endured and not give up.

Focus more on loving God than hating sin. You cannot hate sin without being in love with God and seeking Christ's presence. Loving God must come first. Focus on the gospel at all times your entire day! It's hard to sin when you're always grateful for the gospel at all times.

Nobody "used to be a Christian." You got duped. Once you wake up, you can never go back to sleep.
The "valley" represents the difficult trials and times of life, that He will give you all you need to get through it when you believe & trust Him.
Never leaves or forsakes....sometimes presence most felt in the valley
even being humble is not our decision, praise how sovereign he is!

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Yes yes yes. Our King and Lord expresses His tenderest affection and deepest assurances in the valley. There is no other way. I wish there was, but the lessons of learning to depend on His love and mercy, and to be transformed into His image are best experienced in this way.

Joanna Patricia Rosales You know the verse "even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death" (Psalm 23)? A valley is a low place in between two high hills, so it's like a straight road of despair, and the song is about how God can guide us through those dark times :)

The valley, in this context, is the scary, dark place that God puts you so that you can see him better, like putting a diamond against a dark background.
