Very impressive collection ,I like to do something like this but with the 65 infantry, the Borinqueniers, I hear stories from my older relatives about our family members that served in WW2 and Korea, they started around 1917 when the US gave us Puerto Ricans the official US citizenship, so they served ,WW1, WW2, and Korea, I found replicas of the insignias, now I have to scale them to 1/6 size, I like to do s diorama, in the 90s I was hoping that Hasbro would make a figure of the 65 infantry, since they made so many other, the Navajo decoder, 2 diferent Tuskegee pilots, The D day soldier 🪖 and so on but they never made one from the 65 infantry, do I'm eventually going to do it myself maybe with some Cotswold figures and uniforms,
I volunteered for a few years a hospital helping the nurses take care of veterans I was 18 till I was 20, veterans from WW 1 to Vietnam, most were from the 65, and brother I heard stories, these elders had things to say , by Vietnam they had disbanded the 65, as more men learned English they were interested in other units but we learn in school to appreciate and respect our service men and women, a lot of my relatives served in all the branches of the military I didn't have that honor I suffered severe migraines since I was a kid, my son was about to go to the Navy but he had a little problem with his heart , he used to be a power lifter and do strongman competitions and at the time his bodyweight was 420 lbs he trimmed down to 350lbs but still his heart was giving him problems, hes now 275lbs but by the time he reached that weight the pandemic hit and the sergeant from the recruiting office stop answering the phone or calling him so he didn't go, he's healthy now and still lifts weights and got back in martial arts but his dream was to be in the Navy , he just turned 27 in April 7th, oh and when he was 420lbs he wasn't obese he's 6'4" the weight was well distributed all over his body, at the recruiting office they told him shit we were expecting a fat sumo wrestler like guy but your built like a line backer,at the time he was also playing football 🏈, they're reaction when they saw him was priceless, hey this is a great video, and rhus is a very impressive collection, thank you and thank you for your service! Blessings to you and your family.

@@eliteactionjoestudios8325 he did pro wrestling for a bit he day viewed at 16 as Aries the God of War he was a masked wrestler but he stop liking wrestling and now he's doing ju jitsu, judo and mui tai, and he worked at a famous donut shop called Donut Man on route 66 , he's the head cook now, he moved out if the house 2 years ago , I don't know what his dreams are now, but he has lots of potential, my middle son is a musician he's in a band called Buddha Jones and The Man he just finished his 4th album, my oldest is my daughter she just opened her tattoo shop that's what she does she's a tattoo artist, I'm lucky to have the kids I have where we used to live they could had become gang members or druggies , it was all around, well hope your doing better from you arm and thank you for the blessings for my family , many blessings for your family as well.

    Thanks for sharing.
I suspect setting up an entire squad according to the WW2 TO&E is boring--it's hard to get the equipment and uniforms to match. An alternative is figures showcasing the many varieties of uniforms and equipment found in one American division. British Army units had variations on uniforms. It was possible to have STEN Mk II and MK III in the same unit. I'm impressed with the quantity and variety you displayed.
How would a replacement depot (Reppel Depot) unit look? Normally, one or two replacements would be fed to understrength platoons at a time. Replacements didn't fare well--they were not integrated into already shattered units and were shunned by the surviving unit veterans so that when the new guy died it wasn't a big deal. Replacements might have the new uniforms (buckle boots instead of field shoes with leggings, dark green uniforms instead of light brown, different packs) and wearing the wrong clothes in a combat zone was a quick way to get shot. Some units wore shirts and ties and some were open collar combat fatigues. One American engineering unit had camouflage uniforms--and they discarded those quickly to avoid being shot, mistaken for German SS soldiers.

Wow, very interesting, great information. I will share this with my son. Very unique facts that I had never heard, we are always trying to learn more about aspects of history that is outside our normal reading. Thanks very much for sharing that and for watching!

Thanks for watching Anthony! Ebay or other type sights are your best bet, maybe local toy shops but they may be expensive or you can do the leg work and hit flea markets and garage sales in your area, time consuming and often frustrating but I know a guy in our group just hit a couple big boxes last summer near Chicago where he lives. The thrill of the hunt. I am thinking of selling some of my infantry figures as my collection has gotten very large and due to a work injury I am out of work. I could let you know when/if I decide to do that.
