its been a while since i've had an instance where i wasnt able to finish a vlog to completion - much less two days in a row. i didnt want to waste these days, though, so i tried to salvage them into something watchable at least.
Any vlog is better than no vlog! Squad loves anything that you put out and we’re privileged to watch the master at work. Can’t wait to see what Sun Peaks is like!
No worries man , 🤙🏼
Agreed, you made the best of what’s around. The tough days are part of the adventure for sure.
You did better than salvage great video.
Made my Sunday night. Appreciate what you do bud.
The rain - is a constant that you have to push through. You're doing great 👍🏼- the videos are awesome- even if it's not to your own standards - its great for us normals who are vicariously skiing through you. Keep it up!
Of course, I love to see you ski down the double black, incredible lines, very impressive. But I would honestly get bored if there was no backstory I like hearing about your journey where you go to park what the challenges are, and how you make the best of it. to me that’s what makes your channel interesting, the human factor. So yeah, maybe you feel like these are not the best episodes but to me it’s what makes the whole thing great. Again, I’m sure you know this but I just wanted to remind you how much the squad enjoys the parts in between. I think many people are watching you and thinking about how they can do this themselves. So all those little details of your trip really make the whole thing a complete package. And you’re really good at this, you seem very straightforward and honest. Anyways, just thought I’d mention this, since it’s easy to get down when they’re not the perfect days. Cheers, and thanks for all the videos, you’re really one of the best out there at creating this type of video.
Hiking another Kilometer. A click is 1Km and probably something you would not do in ski boots for that distance
Chin up brother. We win or we learn. We never fail. Enjoy the hotel!
Hey Lucas, I’m not sure if anyone has given you an answer yet to your conundrum question, “What is ONE CLICK?” It is a shortened version of ONE KILOMETRE (0.62 miles). I hope that helps. Love that you went to Sun Peaks! You did some crazy, almost insane and quite scary lines at WB!
Failure is not trying at all, or giving up after something didn't go right. This isn't failing, this is learning and growing -- even if it feels otherwise. Keep it up Lucas!
Nice sun peaks on the way to Revi. A hotel comp! You sooo deserve that you are inspiring so many of us to get up there. Hope the van is getting figured out. Enjoy the most vert feet in bounds. So cool! Respect.
The snow encrusted trees on the upper mountain are called Snow Ghosts. They are the most photographed thing on the mountain. With skiing on both sides of the valley on 2 mountains and 2 ridges, you would be hard pressed to name a mountain in North America that spreads skiers out better than Sun Peaks. Sun Peaks is not for powder hounds, it is for speed freaks. And snow quality and snow preservation are world class. Reliable winter skiing in B.C. from mid Dec to mid March starts a about 4,000ft asl. So a lot of the vertical at the low and very low elevation at Whistler and Revy can result in wet soggy conditions. Revy has a flawed lift system because they never accounted for the extremely low base elevation when installing the lift system.
Yes honestly you have looked a bit burnt out of late. The PNW can have that effect. Makes sunny Utah n Colorado look like the tropics. And the snow quality…. The rain can really be a bummer. Like I said, I got to Crystal last year and literally waited out a rain deluge for 5 days. Makes you appreciate a bluebird day for sure. Hope you get those inner batteries charged, and the outer ones too. Take good care, your awesome!
I know you said that first run on the second day was anti climactic but I actually like watching more of just cruising around. It’s really relaxing and as a more beginner-intermediate skier it makes me excited for what I could possibly do at the resort you visit.
Thanks for not wasting the footage of these days. The tree runs looked great to me! I love riding along and seeing if you choose the same line I would have.
I've been to WB a couple of times and the weather can be pretty crazy. Sunny and powdery on top, clouds and light snow midmountain, and rain and slush at the bottom. Could be a blessing or a disaster to deal with up there. Possibly the reason why I usually prefer to travel to a more consistent UT or CO.
Sick shots with the snow covered trees. I enjoyed the video very much. Just watching you go to these places gives me more confidence for the future if I decide to explore one of these mountains. Thank you for all the great content.
Yup the rain is a normality in BC, especially on the coast it’s jsut how it is. The snow doesn’t start to get really good usually until you reach an elevation near 1200 meters, so for a resort like Whistler or Revelstoke where the base is only at around 500-600 meters it’s quite normal for it to be rainy.
Sun Peaks looks like it’s fun w amazing scenery….it doesn’t have to have extreme terrain to be fun. Thanks for showing us around and it was a great distraction to watch this vlog and to anticipate my visit while going through it w my 🐈 passing yesterday
thanks regina! excited to hear what you think about it
Sweet that they Compensated you like that! You deserved it👏. Love seeing all the different mountains....just a beautiful planet we live on.
yeah i agree!
No problem Louis - you produce more videos than other skiers do.
it's Luis
Lucas
*Lukas
thanks man
Your videos are always awesome Lucas! A shame you did not get to see the best of Whistler.....great that you are going back to Revelstoke for a few days and hope that you also have time to stop by in Kicking Horse. Its the perfect resort for the type of skiing that you love and only about 2 hours drive from Revelstoke which as you know is also a fantastic resort. Have fun;)
We always heard from our friends about the rainy conditions @ BC, which is probably why we never made it there. Thanks for sharing your journey! No one does it like you, the GOAT!
1 click = 1 km = 0.62 miles. (The term comes from the odometer "clicks" in cars).. Awesome videos man keep it up!
Your thumbnails are so on point. Beautiful and well branded.
I know others have said it, but I'd kill to have a few days like that at sun peaks right now.
Have a blast brother!
thanks dude
Thank You for filming these incredible vistas and your RAD Runs Lucas. I really like that you indicate the chair and the run on the scene that you ski it!
glad you like it!
Too bad these episodes didn’t turn out how you wanted, but I still enjoyed it! Keep up the great work bro!
thanks bro!
Lol these could have both been their own episodes and they would have been great. Thanks for your awesome content, especially this season. It has kept my stoke high. We should get together and let me film you when you get back to PC!
Every day on the mountain is awesome with you man! Not everything goes as expected, but you always do an amazing job bro!
No joke about the roads. I did the same drive couple weeks ago, very stressful with the big rigs on the single lane highway’s especially at night time. Revelstoke to golden is worse I would recommend doing in daytime.
Not failed - mountains / nature = success. Thanks for the journey - do i see a racing episode coming up? Stoked! Enjoy the day with papa joe
Just outstanding glad to have you back
thanks jack
A "click" generally is 1 km in Canadian slang
gotcha
Mach 7 through tight trees was definitely not anticlimactic to watch and listen to on the headphones .. :-) .. I was ducking right and left all the way down .. great skiing!
thanks craig!
the very first run was an unmarked double black called VD chutes
thank you!
Great vid Lucas! seriously amazing as always
thanks jack.
I feel you with all the rain, I live in Pennsylvania and thats all we got this season. Kind of depressing considering winter is for snow and not ugly rain.
yeah just not used to it is all.
Hang in there brother, life's got it's up and downs.
amen to that
LoVe those trees!
me too!
Don’t be too harsh. Beautiful scenery. Loved it.
gorgeous up there for sure.
A click is a kilometer! 🤣I had no idea until I met up with someone from Canada the one time in NH and he said click, it’s weird lol
Thanks for making our days better Lucas keep the w vids up
thank you peyton
I was keeping an eye out for you Lucas at Steven's Pass. Seems like the weather wasn't the best when you passed through. Wednesday we had a 20" day and more snow coming tonight. It's been a foggy few months in the PNW glad you got a couple nice days in.
thanks chaz. bet that 20" was incredible.
Love ya vids brotha keep it up 👍
Go to whitefish for trees like that. It’s covered with them. Amazing terrain as well
It’s not on any of the 3 passes I have.
@@LucasCatania17 that sucks. If you ever get a chance it’s an amazing place
Bit ‘er in the ass again! 🎉 I enjoyed the footage. You “salvage” content better than others best work.
thank you kevin. glad you enjoy it.
Is there any cliffs to worry about? *opens hands wide to show area* safe way? *closes hands narrow* 😂 that would have me a little on edge no pun intended.
You Held Your Own Brother 💪
Don’t know if you’ve already done this but would love to see you drop into corbett
Beautiful video !
thank you!
Best snow in Canada, beside Kik!Klick is a slang for kilometar in Cdn.
gotcha
So sick bro
8:06 A 'click' is Army speak for a kilometer.
Sitting here working the Denver home show wishing I was skiing. Next time out will be day 75 which is mind blowing. I still enjoyed the shit outta this video. Ha 👍🤟🏻
dude good for you man. that is incredible. maybe 100 day season this year.
@@LucasCatania17 Thank you Lucas and hopefully so! 🤟🏻
The vlogging wasn't quite what you wanted, but still a lot of fun for us to watch. Sorry you couldn't work in the Peak 2 Peak at Whistler because of the condittions. I had been looking forward to seeing you experience that.
'I hate long poles', says the man who skis with a 8' pole of narcissism!!
Love the content. Love the journey.
it would be narcissism if i didnt include that pole angle. thats quite literally a third person point of view, bringing the viewer into the story and the day from their own perspective.
@@LucasCatania17 Not my intention to offend. Apologies.
Selfie sticks have been called that for a long time. Staff of Narcissism, too.
It was by no means a reference to your character, but only calling a tool by a different name.
A Klick is a Kilometer
Lol Canadian lingo, "1 click" is 1 Kilometer AKA 1000meters ! not too far!
gotcha!
I missed the failure...where was it? Some of the most beautiful scenery yet...I was looking at the terrain on Google Earth it looks like there are hundreds of tiny little parallel shoots through the trees on the backside of that mountain...endless options...
Sun Peaks was beautiful! What was “failed” about that vlog?
A klick is a kilometer.
Dope vid as always bro. Any chance you could tell me what microsd you use for your GoPro? I have a GoPro hero 9 and have had countless issues with card errors on a variety of them :/
im using a sandisk extreme pro 64gb
the video was still really good man, but i would update the title to find it more searchable
Sun Peaks looks like it would be good to take the kids.
it definitely would be
pretty cool
thanks!
Awesome homie. Glad you put this one together. Hope things are looking up!
Rain is what happens when the base of a mountain is 2000'. That's why total vertical can be misleading. Cottonwood Canyons the best.
for snow quality, absolutely.
Hefty, Hefty, Hefty . Top clothing brand in PNW. 😆 Do what ya can skiers know shit happens.
Not failed episodes my man. Just a different format ha. Still enjoy following along with the adventure
i appreciate that JJ
What’s Joe going to say about you going around those Moguls?
hes gonna disown me
I think I saw Papa Joe at Crested this past Friday, was it him?
crested butte? no
did you get hot water at the Sandman????
At the base of Blackcomb watching this. It has been snowing the last few days so the skiing is top to bottom but it becomes Spring Skiing at mid-Tram.
Fun, but Alta and Snowbird have nothing to worry about. They are still my love.
yup cant beat the bird
Sun peak was gorgeous! Sorry whistler conditions weren’t better! Love your video’s! Great you have accommodations at this time! We don’t follow you because you stay in the van all the time! Enjoy!
thanks judy!
What app do you use to track your ski days
Ski Tracks
I use the same app as he does.
Thanks
ski tracks
Ha the Sandman revelstoke. Stayed there a month or so ago, and some guys enclosed sled trailer exploded in the parking lot. We were walking to the McDonald's across the street and BOOM. wild. Apparently not a regular occurrence so your van should be fine haha.
oh wow thats wild! the sandman wasnt bad!
@@LucasCatania17 Yeah man - apparently people have propane heaters they run in their trailers? Seems crazy to me. Yeah Sandman was a good option. Bit out of town but the bus stopped right there to take you into town/the resort (we didn't have our own car). I'm guessing you've well and truly moved on - but if you are on the fence about kicking horse - can I strongly suggest you go. The terrain was sick.
A click is a kilometer.
Super Bowl livestream? 😂
whats the superbowl?
@@LucasCatania17I’m pretty sure it’s on the backside of the mountain 😂
Sun Peaks is super boring, I have a season pass here and it has almost no vert and the snow has been crappy. The runs are short and not steep at all. The black runs are really just steep blues at times. This is not me bashing Sun Peaks, just a warning for others who think it'll have amazing terrain. The views are absolutely amazing and make it worth the trip in it self.
thanks for the insight. beautiful mountain!
1 hole grid square
Love the videos and you are an inspiration but seems like you’re getting a little run down! Don’t be afraid to take a break and recharge the batteries man!
thank you!
Lucas, I would update your video title to showcase the names of both resorts or else people won't be able to find them via a UA-cam search. Titles are key for SEO
Yah I do that for all of my other videos
Parking is free at Creekside.
Wow love love those WHITE WALKERS 🥶
these arent the whitewalkers
I still think both vids we’re good
thanks man
klick = kilometer
got it
I went up there and it was foggy as hell. This seems to be Canadians favorite resort. Just post the videos...ha.
I Kilometer
Quite sketch
Hey @LucasCatania17, could you do a video on your gear? Like apart from the skiis, l mean looking at the clothing, boots, favourite bindings etc.
i did a whole video on all of my gear
@@LucasCatania17oh, my bad. I’m new to your content so didn’t know. You’re living the life man, keep shredding 🤙
