Solid information and overview of this radio. Great job on the video. Love the radio frequency coverage too, that's awesome. From this end though, that display makes my eyes bleed. Hard to believe that's what they went with in the 21st century. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they were just keeping it cheap and simple. Perhaps it looks better in real life.
Thanks for watching and the complements ! I was surprised that this didn't come with a backlight color option... Even the FT-857D did way back when ! It does seem to have a market for it. Good build quality like a public safety radio.
@@EricTechstuffs Currently 230 USD and the MARS mod makes it hard to resist, but the screen is keeping me away. Glad to know the build quality is good. Even stock, the frequency coverage is so amazing. You have really great content on your channel, thank you.
Thats a useful rig for scanning the 800mhz the police here and such nice little rig also 440 mhz. That would be cool to mount the head on the bench and hide the transmitter underneath the bench. Cool presentation 👍💯⚛
Thanks. I never really go on 2m or 440 much. Do like HF more. Most public safety in my state are on a state wide trunking system with most digital encrypted. Had to get rid of the old radio shack triple trunking scanners. This will fit the bill to see what is left analog around me !
It's pretty nice, but I cannot use the Extended RX features in my area. Everything is trunked or digital :( the 70cm and 2 m repeaters are real quiet here too.
You should be able too. I no longer have this radio. I never connected BT to it. But when two items are in pairing mode it should find eat other. Sorry I couldn't be of more help ! 73

Nice looking rig

Don't know why I'm drawn to this radio, but it's very tempting.
It pretty nice ! I do have another mobile I am going to dive into very soon...this time a Quad Band ! Thanks for watching and stay tuned !
does this BT module connect to third party speakers for audio?

@EricTechstuffs, you no longer have this radio? It doesn't say much for the ftm-6000r, I assume if you liked it you would have kept it.
Nice rig congrats👍💯⚛
does it works in Australia? Or need to reset the code.
It should work in Australia I am not sure what code you are trying to reset ?
Trying to install the Bluetooth chip on mine, what size screwdriver did you use? I got some precision drivers and they are not doing the trick.
I used a #0 Philips tip. It's a cheap orange and black screwdriver from the kit precision screwdriver kit from Harbor Freight. Hope it helps !
@@EricTechstuffs thank you.
@@nathansharp9957 Not a problem ! Anytime ! Also I pushed down a bit while turning and it'll give way. 73 !
@@EricTechstuffs #0 Philips worked
Just got mine today. Didn't come with a power word
OH that is not good ! I would contact where you purchased it. It should come with everything you need to use the radio !
Thats not bad to install the bluetooth module
Things are getting tiny - makes me think about eyeglasses !
can you use the usb cable for the soft ware
if not what is the usb cable for
Possibly. If the software cable is used for other radios you can use it
Surgeon general manual seems what man things in the head unit is tiny 🥴
