Nicely done. I came up with the same basic idea, but took a slightly different approach. My Arduino Nano is mounted inside the case, and responds to the switching signals to output three different tones just like the missing original tone board. I also route the output thru a tiny amplifier and a 3-stage RC bridge to shape the output to an approximate sine wave. Works like a charm.

Can i ask , can FM be quiet on these without an antenna ???

The cheap ones are garbage I will testify to that. I have used them and now regret the purchase. I am looking at these videos because of my bad experience with the cheap ones shown on this video. I am hop8ing to find videos showing decent PL259's so I can buy some myself.

I do find it's useful to monitor CB frequencies when I'm traveling. Despite the insanity on CB, it's still the best way to get information on road conditions. The ability to transmit on FM CB may be useful someday, but at present, literally nobody in the US is using FM CB.

Unfortunately this radio had so much potential and came up disappointing. being able to name the channels natively from the device is awesome however it won't even let me program ctcss tone in it

I bought 2 of these K6 radios & they will NOT scan memory channels no matter what I do.. It will scan in VFO mode only & that is worthless to me.

Create a login account, doing so adds an extra important outstanding feature. With a login account your radio programing settings, be they on Android or iPhone, will be saved on their cloud. Then regardless of what computer you use, log in to your Odmaster account, you will be able to update frequencies, settings, transfer to and from the radio, and the like. Their web interface supports many radios manufactures. The Odmaster on the web is very similar to Chirp, can use both Bluetooth and a cable. Also, when you update via the phone or web those updates sync to each device, outstanding feature; give it go.

Old video so I know it's a long shot asking for help here. I have an old TRC-431 Navaho that I'm trying to put a high cut filter on. The center wire from the volume pot goes to VR2, coiled wire post on the board. But if a .33 uF is put from that to ground it generates a tone?

I know the video is a year old, but I'm hoping someone can help me understand, because the owner's manual was no use at all in determining which frequency band I need to select. So, if I understand correctly, in order to use this radio on the US CB channels, I need to choose frequency band "d"? What the heck are the "a" channels?

The 108 MHz band is FM and not Am. Do you have the radio on a dummy load? If the SWR is high your transmit output will be low.

4:00 What mode would "normal" be? Not HAM, not GMRS, what is left, CB?

Can the TD-H3 only transmit on the “A” channel or is there something in my settings that I have to flip in order to transmit on my “B” channel? Note: I have the radio in “Normal” mode.

I never understood why they discontinue these radios. I mean, they look great and they work pretty well. Sure wish they would come back back in production.
