This video was just missing the details! Here’s some tips just from my experience: 1) Make sure front side that says “Huffy” on the side is facing forward before you line up the fender braces👌🏼 If not, you will be stuck on why the fender braces aren’t aligning properly. 2) Don’t screw in the 1st screw in the basket all the way, only half. So you can fit the basket support legs in the middle correctly before you insert the 2nd screw. Then tighten both all the way evenly. 3) The middle bolt from the hand bars: (The middle bar from the handle bar should be facing you) To unlock, unscrew towards the left. To lock, screw towards the right 4) The seat will tighten when you continue to screw the bolts all the way 5) just keep turning the lever clockwise a couple times until the seat tightens. It took me more than 5x to get it right. Hope this helps✨
I was just going to post make sure fork is facing forward otherwise the fender won't fit right. I accidentally bent the fender a little. 😬 now I have to take the front wheel off to bend it back. argh!!! I'm glad it's not worse tho.
Thank you Thank you! After a couple of hours of dealing with #1, I was ready to throw in the towel. I wonder why Huffy Corp doesn't place stickers with arrows pointing which way the part needs to face. I say this because I just assembled a workout cycle (not Huffy) with ease.
Been at it for like a day and a half still putting it together.... and the worst part is I'm slowly figuring out what to do it's trying to follow the instructions thats actually making it hard...well that and the fact I have the strength of a five pound cat so screwing all the stuff is hard
For anyone saying that the seat won’t tighten, keep at those bolts with your wrench until you can’t go anymore. I thought that something was defective because my seat just wouldn’t tighten, and the pole would just fall out, but I just persisted and kept at it with the wrench until it wouldn’t tighten anymore and then it stayed in place and wouldn’t budge even a little
Keep tightening with wrench and screwdriver as much possible. Then, leaving the wrench on the nut - and without using the screwrdriver - tap the wrench tighter using s small hammer on wrench "handle."
So I’ve finished the bike after much trial and error...and this is the worse bike to ride. I have tried to ride on a nearby trail and this thing can’t go over a small hump..idk if it’s my petals but this thing takes so much force to move.
I saw this video and thought, "Hey, that looks easy and very doable!" I saw the comments and ignored them, I didn't think this bike could possibly be that frustrating to assemble. I thought that I couldn't possibly struggle like everyone else. Just 2 hours later and this bike has made me cry, but at least it's assembled to what I hope is safe to ride. I knew I shouldn't have trusted someone with such highly arched eyebrows
I assembled it by myself, I used this video it wasn't too bad, to be my first time doing this... just with the seat, I had to take it to the byke shop and they helped me to adjust it good.
I had the same seat tightening problem most of you guys have. I fixed it though. If your gears on the seat fell off make sure the rod is aligned with the gears the rods on the bottom of the seat. Also, you have to keep tightening.
Took me about 2.5 hours to assemble by myself. The front and back bender were rubbing against the tire so I needed assistance from someone else in order to fix the fender. Bike is all built and ready to ride! I would say this is a 6.5/10 difficulty to build
I'm having the same seat issues, still havent figured it out. I do have a question tho. Is it normal for the tires to be completely flat? I wasnt expecting that. Now I have to go fill the tires to even see if I put it together correctly.
Before you assemble anything…. Make sure the upper bracket that is attached to the steering portion of the front wheel and connects to the basket is aligned with the wheel. I just spent 2+ hours assembling until I got to attaching the basket and noticed the upper bracket was leaning to the left. I tried to unscrew and straighten but that is a part that was sent like that so I had to use my warranty. Good news is they are sending a new bike 👍🏼 Here’s to hoping it’s actually straight 🤞🏼
I just got this bike home, so excited, but there is NO WAY the front fender will fit this bike with out the tire rubbing the tire! Called customer service! They have Never had this issue, Sure they haven't, they will send a new one in 7 to 10 days! Incredible!!!
Yes, just figured that out! THANK YOU!Make sure the fender over front wheel is pulled all the way up away from wheel and then tighten screw/ bolt! Figured this out after securing basket step and the video has you check to make sure fender isn't touching wheel. With all the complaints about the written instructions and video, you would think Huffy would do a revamp!!! I bought 3 of these bikes. So hopefully the assembly of the other two won't take me as long and I now know all the ins and outs!!!😒😬🥴😳
One more tip guys, don't clamp the seat tube when the sit post is at the narrow section. If you want to set the seat as low as possible, make sure there is still some of the thicker part of the seat post at the clamp area when you tighten the clamp. Also, I don't think the weldings of the frame of the bike will be safe for vigorous riding, but that's not the intended purpose of this bike. Just some casual stroll around town/college at slow speeds will do fine.
Me too. It was already assembled. Chained it to a bike rack at my senior apartment building but someone cut the chain and stole my boke before I even rode it. 😔 I despise thieves.
So the back bracket on my bike is backwards and i dont know what to do, help! Also I’m dont know how to assemble the part where the bike seat connects to the pole and I’m getting pretty upset over this. So please help
How do you make the center clamp for the handlebars tight enough? I went to ride and my weight pushed the handlebars downward, nearly causing me to faceplant! I tightened the nut as far as it would go and tested it like in the video.
the fender keeps rubbing the tire and although i dearly wish to fix it without busting out the toolbox i don’t think that’s on a happen so anyone know any fixes?
If your fender is touching the top of the wheel: unscrew your top bolt slightly until you can lift the fender up- so the bolt is at the BOTTOM of the oval loop in which you screw the bolt in. Hold the fender up so the bolt stays at the bottom, then tighten while keeping it there. If your fender is touching the sides of your wheel, loosen the bolts at the end of the metal stems of the fender, then move each stem forwards or backwards until the fender does not touch the wheel, then tighten each bolt in the position that doesn’t touch the wheel.
ME AND MY FAMILY HAVE BEEN AT THIS DAMN BIKE SEAT FOR HOURS AND HOURS AND DAYS AND IT WON'T TIGHTEN. HELP. WHAT DO WE DO. NO MATTER WHAT THE SEAT WILL NOT TIGHTEN OR KEEP FROM MOVING.

Does anyone know what type of bolts and screws are used for the 2 rods that are holding up the basket? I keep trying to find out because I need replacement parts for it. I can't find anything for it and Huffy's website is being a tad difficult!
Started around 8:30 it is now 10:55 and I still need to tighten the parts that need the Allen wrench, and I need to pump up my tires, all and all it was alright, idk if this helps anyone but make sure that the bike wheel is the right way, I’m not sure if mine is or if that’s important but just make sure, and if the wheel is rubbing against the front fender it’s not rocket science, just push the fender up a little higher and bolt it down , I was looking at it like why is it touching the wheel, and realized I bolted it too high on the fender, it should look like this |.| , not like this |*|
Finding some of the assembly of the Huffy Marietta frustrating. The seat post went into the frame of the bicycle and is firmly stuck in there. It won't budge and can't be removed. Now what?
The video was excellent. I followed all the steps and the bike works perfectly. Additional tools which will make the assembly easier - small vice-grip pliers, cordless screwdriver, pedal wrench, 15mm socket. So far the bike seems to be excellent quality.
Rotate the forks. Mine did the same and once I realized the fendrr braces weren't attaching, I knew the forks were on backwards. Came packaged like that!!!
Richard C Was curious of you can do that. I want to buy that exact bike but don’t want to deal with assembling it. Nor do I want to pay for it to be done for me
If you don't want a migraine and yo spend 6 hours trying to assemble a bike, that still ends up unable to be assembled properly then do not bother spending your money on this bike. The least they could have done was included the L bar tools to assemble the handle bars properly. I ended up with a seat bar stuck inside the bike chamber , that I can not get out, with no seat able to be attached to it and handle bars I can not tighten and assemble due to not having a proper L bar wrench and the directions still being unclear. I don't even know If I would be able to figure out how to assemble the handle bars, even If I had the L bar wrench. The handlebars also had a tight plastic wrap around the bottom bar, that I could not pull off and had to spend 20 mins trying to cut through. I contacted a local bike shop to see if they could put the seat and handlebars on the bike for me and they want to charge me $75m so spend your money wisely and buy a bike that is either assembled or very easy to assemble, that comes with the tools you need and clear concise directions. So disappointing !
People who have never owned and maintained a single speed cruiser bike, and can't follow assembly instructions, should have the bike assembled by Walmart or a bicycle shop. The seat needs to be tightened with parts aligned properly using plenty of force on the wrench to tighten seat securely to the post. The quick release seat post clamp needs to be adjusted so that it takes a LOT of force to move the lever to the locked position and hold the seat post securely. The basket brace has to have the bottom part in the proper direction to clear the bottom of the fork. My bike apparently had no grease in fork bearings, front wheel bearings and bottom bracket. I took my bike to a local bike shop for a "safety inspection" which includes lubrication and adjustment of wheels, fork bearings and "bottom bracket" (pedal/sprocket assembly) . Otherwise I would have had to buy special thin wrenches to disassemble wheel bearings etc., grease them and adjust them myself. Bike shop charges $35. BTW, only inflate the tires to 20 psi which is sufficient for a smooth ride, ignore the 40 psi rating on side of tire. Make sure tire edge bead is secure in wheel rim all around the tire before inflating tire. I think this bike will be as good as any similar bike if assembled, lubricated and adjusted properly. Correction, make sure tires are properly held by rim all around , inflate to 35 psi as advised by my bike shop.
The Nel Lusso is a Walmart exclusive. If you purchase it in-store you have the option to have it assembled. Any bike that is shipped directly to your home will not arrive assembled.
@@DragonQueen78 Walmart has bikes that are already assembled. The worker will get it down from the high rack and you walk the bike to the check out line. That's what my brother in law & I did. 🙂👍
Can’t anybody help me? I purchased this bike and assembled it myself. The only thing it was missing/ wasn’t included was the cup holder bolt. Was wondering if anybody has the measurements on the bolt before I head to the local hardware store.
I'd wager you're still waiting. There was a rush on bicycles in March/April of 2020 and production is at a stand-still even now (Jan 2021). I only managed to get one by paying double the retail to buy from a retail pirate on eBay....
Hi Jacquelyn, sorry to hear you're having some trouble. Our customer care team can help figure out the issue and send you the correct part if that's the case. Please send an email to service@huffy.com for assistance. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
the handle bar keeps moving even when i tighten it all the way till i cant. and the seat post got stuck in the frame and i can’t get it out. this bike is a nightmare
Beautiful bike but Huffy should have included a rubber mallet and some touch up paint. I envision the American Tourister gorilla tossing the box around in the warehouse. The quick release lever doesn't keep the seat secure no matter how tight you make it.
Where's the grease in any of the parts that should have them? The seatpost will soon get seized in the seat tube due to zero grease, the quill stem will soon not be able to move over time since there isn't any grease in there and it'll shave off alot of metal! The threads of the axel should be also be greased so you can get it as tight as possible without over tightening it! The pedal threads should also be greased otherwise over time it'll get stuck in there! The front wheel was so out of true when it was being spun, so that should also get trued with a spoke tool💯. I'm also going to assume the cups in the one piece bottom bracket shell were also not greased. This bike isn't gonna wistand so well if taken to a beach or even left outside in rain for more than a day! This bike could be rather good if all those things were done but since it isn't. Well it's not gonna be so good, want my advice when putting together a bike from outside the box? GREASE THE PARTS THAT NEED IT!
We are so sorry you had such mega issues! Please reach out to fill us in more so we can provide any additional service needed and advise the factory accordingly. We can be reached at 800.872.2453 or at service@huffy.com. Thank you, Ashley!
She gives directions like we've already done this a dozen times. She should have the camera zoom in on what she's doing and the parts she's using. The welding job on this bike is pretty crappy and for a company that has been around for a while, you'd think they could print directions for the specific bike that you purchase. The bike is made in China as it is and they are already saving money. Put some of it in a proper manual.

Poor design/quality and not a sturdy bike that would last for years so we returned it. Arrived with damaged/bent parts. The front fender is very poorly designed, the top bracket cannot be safely attached to the frame in order to clear the tire, and the aluminum side brackets are thin/flimsy, very easily bent, and there is very little clearance for the tire. Directions are poorly written/illustrated and were not usability tested for accuracy and/or completeness. Also, the 800 number just tells you there is no phone support for assembly problems and to submit an email, which would take a day or two to get a reply.
The seat won't tighten!!!!!!! simply either the pole is too narrow or the tightening part is too big or too stiff. Anyway, the seat is spinning on top of the pole.

Thank you so much for this very helpful instructional video! You saved me!!!
Is the bike have brake?
You pedal backward (basic pedal brake).
What size is the chain
Thank you for putting this video because I got the same thing I liked and subscribed
Not me watching this video religiously BC my bike is arriving soon 👁👄👁
I misplaced one of the bolts for the mounting braces and now I am low key freaking out.
Me too
Idk what to do
Good luck trying to get replacement parts...
I'm buying this bike for myself online and was gonna pay for it to be assembled but I think I can build it myself and save a few dollars
I have this one!!!!! It’s the best!
Michelle_ Najera Rodriguez I’ve tried it, it’s a little wobbly, but doable.
My front tire continues to rub fender. The tire is bent, we can see it is. What would anyone do?
When you buy the bike do you have to assemble it yourself or does it come assembled?
The Nel Lusso is a Walmart exclusive. If you purchase it in-store you have the option to have it assembled. Any bike that is shipped directly to your home will not arrive assembled.
@@HuffyBicycles walmart said they don't assemble it
@@DragonQueen78 Walmart has bikes that are already assembled.
How long do I have to wait to receive my bike?????
I'd wager you're still waiting. There was a rush on bicycles in March/April of 2020 and production is at a stand-still even now (Jan 2021). I only managed to get one by paying double the retail to buy from a retail pirate on eBay....
I dropped the bike piece in the frame. Does anyone know how to get it out 😓😭
I did the same! And I’m trying to find out how to fix it! 🥲seeing your comment made me not feel alone.
Anyone have wobbly wheels and know how to fix it? I don’t wanna return it
Having issues assembling the seat. The bar seems like it is the wrong size for the bike
Hi Jacquelyn, sorry to hear you're having some trouble. Our customer care team can help figure out the issue and send you the correct part if that's the case. Please send an email to service@huffy.com for assistance. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
6:43 might help
the handle bar keeps moving even when i tighten it all the way till i cant. and the seat post got stuck in the frame and i can’t get it out. this bike is a nightmare
Beautiful bike but Huffy should have included a rubber mallet and some touch up paint. I envision the American Tourister gorilla tossing the box around in the warehouse. The quick release lever doesn't keep the seat secure no matter how tight you make it.
Video doesn't show rear wheel assembly and adjustment in order to tighten chain on sprocket.
So my wheel not rotating freely what to do next
Sorry to hear that, Melissa. Give us a call at 800 872 2453 and we'll help figure out the issue. We're available Mon.-Fri. 8-8.
Jesus Christ. The seat rod would NOT stop spinning . Thankfully my fiancé is strong enough to bend the metal & make it tight. But my goodness....
We are so sorry you had such mega issues! Please reach out to fill us in more so we can provide any additional service needed and advise the factory accordingly. We can be reached at 800.872.2453 or at service@huffy.com. Thank you, Ashley!

.... Huffy actually used the words "mega issue" ... yeah, dude, it was like totally gnarly. Right on, right on, right on.
What size is the seat post ? Anyone know?
My seat won’t stop swiveling. Any suggestions
Nina Beaverhausen make sure you screw the bolts all the way as much as you can!
6:43 could be the solution
Solo quiero saber más información de la bicicleta ya que la he buscado en Google y nada
I’m not even kidding. Took me three hours to get all this done, and the seat is still sliding. Oh well, I’m just gonna get that later. Lol
Can I just take it to Walmart and let them assemble it???? I cannot put things together for the life of me
Hello, We're sorry to hear you are having trouble. For specific assembly questions, you can contact our customer service center at 800 872 2453. Thank you!

Huffy Bicycles HOW DOES THE ROD TO THE SEAT TIGHTEN ALL THE WAY. This is so beyond frustrating

Thank u for this review!
My handle bars won’t tighten to the wheel?.? What am I doing wrong?
U brought this bike!
horrible instructions. i now have a scooter
HAKSJDKFKJFJFJF LMAO
The handlebars wont stay in place, no matter how tight I make them.
i have same issue did u find solution?
The seat won't tighten!!!!!!! simply either the pole is too narrow or the tightening part is too big or too stiff. Anyway, the seat is spinning on top of the pole.
