What a lovely journey 🤗 Old Jan was quite proper but absolutely nothing cringy about him. Today's Jan is very much more relaxed, chatty and open. Feels like a friend 😘😻💚
Thanks Robyn :)
I remember looking for plant videos based in Australia. Yours was one of the first I came across. It must have been near the beginning of your YT journey but I've followed ever since. Enjoy your plant content, your personality, your friends and Brad. Looking forward to more years of fun with Jan
Thank you :) happy growing :)
Thank you so much for the tips. As a new Planty UA-camr it amazes me that you were monetized so early in. Well it doesn’t amaze me, it’s awesome and well deserved. I have found it to be a much slower increase but an increase none the less. I’ve really just been enjoying connecting with a new community outside of FB or IG. Thanks for this video! Gives us small guys hope! Congrats on all of your success!!
Thank you so much :) appreciate it :) happy growing & filming :)
Aww this was very sweet! i think the first spg video i watched was a moving video, but i also remember hearing wildfern reference your channel a couple times when i found her channel, and i have only been in the hobby for a year so its fun for me to see how your journey progressed, and imagine where my collection might be in a couple years!! Also congrats on two years, i really love your content 💚
Thank you so much :)
This was so cute! Thanks for showing us your own reflections on your older work. It’s kind of cool to see that your condition/care approach is still consistent! We, as your audience, LOVE seeing your personality shine through in your more recent work! Keep going! The sky is the limit for you, truly!
Thank you:)
What a great walk down memory lane! Thank you, Jan and Brad! Can't wait to see where you are in another two years!
Thank you:)
I found your channel (1.5 ish yrs ago) when i would google search mature form pics of plants I was potentially purchasing. After seeing your obviously thriving collection I ditched the potting soil ( along with fungus gnats) built moss poles and have followed your tutorials and methods ever since. My plants and I can't thank you enough for your no nonsense comprehensive, entertaining, adorable Brad UA-cam videos!😻
Thank you so much!! Happy growing :)
Congratulations! 🎉I love watching and learning from your videos! Been a fan for 2yrs! 💕You have gotten even better with time! Kitty crackes me up. Kitty is the star you know! Lol SPG 👉🏻 “Go look at the people..” Kitty “Nope.” 🐈 😹😹❤
Thank you:)
28:08 I'm always so impressed by how few grow lights you use
I have to use a lot more these days ... but my old apartment had such great natural light !! I miss is
Another fun video! The light in your old apartment was to die for!! Every time you turned the camera, I was like that is truly, the best lighting! Wow! Also, the organization of your plants was so satisfying to see. I’ll have to watch that video next! I found your channel in October of 22 and it was the chop and extend video that I watched first before diving into your videos. After watching a few of your videos, I decided to put my marble queen on a pole! She has seen better days, but she’s doing alright; we live and we learn right? Lol! :) Cheers and happy planting!
Happy growing :)
I was watching The Jungle Haven UA-cam channel and she mentioned you in one of her videos. Being Aussie, fairly new plant parent and having someone who only lives an hour away from me, I then went and binge watched your channel. Highlight was meeting you at the Plant Fair!
Thank you so much :)
I remember I was just getting into plants and I wisited my planty friend. And after a fun evening I was really hangover just laying on her coutch while she was working and she just turned on youtube as a filler for her. She was already watching your videos and a new one about the plant tree thingy you have at your entrance came up, then the second video was autoplayed next and I was hooked for life :) when I came back I watched every single video of yours. When i reached the last one, I was a bit sad, because your videos became a part of my rutine. And I thought because some videos really take a long time to film and are pretty long (love those the most), that I’ll have to wait a while to get a new one. But I was very pleasantly surprised that you upload so often. So now your videos are still part of my routine and I do most of my plant care with your video playing in the background 💚 They really opened my eyes to what potential plant growing has 🌱
Another person on UA-cam mentioned you. I searched for your channel and watched every video. I love your more relaxed approach now but you’ve always put out great content. It’s always a good day when I notified about a new SPG video. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much :)
Hello Jan, I found your UA-cam while searching for how to grow my Bulbophyllum ambrosia orchids on a moss-pole. I then got hooked on watching your tutorials, and of course to see your beautifully grown plants. I did not and still don't see many UA-camrs who goes into details of how they grow their plants from the very start when they first acquire the plant and provide update to show whether they were successful or failed. I find myself going back and rewatching your UA-cam whenever I want to know how to properly take care of my, now ever growing, aroids collection and of course to continue taken care of my orchids. I must say, that thanks to your moss-pole tutorial my Bulbophyllum ambrosia is happily growing again in its new home. My apologies for the lengthy comments ☺
Thank you so much :) happy growing !!
I randomly bought my first plant and started the deep dive into collecting.
Being in the Hunter vally nsw, I wanted to find someone for advice closer to home. I just googled plant advise youtube Australia, and you popped up. Loved your vibe and never left. Keep being you.
Happy growing :)
2 years? Wow! That’s amazing! Well deserved! 🎉 #goals
Thank you:)
The UA-cam algorithm recommended your channel as I'd been watching planty videos. Your miss pole videos had me hooked. And Brads so stinking cute! Plus I asked a question of 3 different UA-camrs and you were the only one who answered me. Been watching ever since.
Thank you:) appreciate the ongoing support :)
Bradley! Came for the plants. Stayed for you and Brad.
Thanks :)
Haha remember watching your first videos and thinking "god, this guy is fricking amazing!". You are the reason why I've gotten into moss poles in the first place! Was super jealous of all of your huge philodendrons and now, 2 years later, my poles are huge (started with a baby plants just like you) and im so in love! Thank you so nuch for all of your content - it is very inspiring ❤
Thank you so much:)
Congrats my favourite planty vegan cat person...no-one else on UA-cam keeps my interest like you do! THANKYOU for sharing your experience and knowledge 🙏🏽🫶🏽💚🌿
Yay! Thank you!:)
I have been here from the beginning as well. I have adopted you and Bradley as my sons. I truly have enjoyed watching you grow. I am quite proud of you, Jon. I appreciate all you do for us and l9ve being part of your family ❤😺🌿🪴 PS you have definitely protected the plant pole and plant shake!! 😹
Thank you so much :)
I’m here since you first started your UA-cam channel, I‘ve learned so much in that time. I bought my first cabinet for Anthuriums inspired from you. And I make my own mosspoles, the plants are loving it :)
Thank you Jan !
Greetings from Germany 🙌
Thank you so much!! Happy growing :)
I first heard about you from Good Growing. The first video I watched was Ring of Fire. Since then I keep binge watching your videos. Great stuff!! So glad to be subscribed to your channel.
Thank you :)
It’s all about Brad!! You and the plants are just the supporting act. Congratulations on reaching the two milestones,, subscribers wise and longevity wise!
Cheers :)
I think the first time I saw you, was in a video about soil mixes, or reporting. You were outside on a terrace, and you had this incredible soil library full of neatly stacked boxes with soils and ingredients. It was lovely! I subscribed and unsubscribed because your beautiful plants were giving me anxiety about the care I was able to give my own plants, and then I subscribed again because of your personality. I am in the process of letting go of my perfectionism and anxiety.
Thank you :)
I was into love for Monstera's.. You came up when I searched for Varigated monstera in Moss pole.. You are know for your moss pole work and became famous for growing plants in the vertical expension of the pot.. I too ended up creating lot of Spagnum moss pole myself. Unfortunately I am not good at keeping my moss pole wet so plants are not using it as vertical extension.
I first heard about you from Jungle Haven on making moss poles. I went to your channel and did not look back since then. Your videos are definitely the first ones I watch, and as a new plant parent, i found your advice on making my own substrate invaluable. You have also influenced my plant collection (the Oxalis is one of my favorites in my collection). I thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing such great knowledge! Hi Brad!!
Thanks :)
Congrats on your success over the past 2 yrs SPG! I don’t remember the plant care vid I was searching for & came across your channel. I watched whatever vid that was & subscribed immediately; I caught up on all the other vids you had posted & here we are. Wishing you all the success in your next 2 yrs Jan!
Thanks for your ongoing support :)
37:10 look at that baby manjula ❤ you have helped me go from a few struggling plants to a house full of lush jungle plants. I started out wanting philos on pole but most have petioles that get way too long and spread out but epipremnums are more manageable
Thank you :)
UA-cam introduced me to your channel, Jan. I immediately joined and have been watching your videos ever since. It's normal to overprepare when you start out making presentations or teaching. Over time, it gets a lot easier to do.
Thank you:)!
I happened to stumble on the plant tour video in my feed. So glad I did! Thank you UA-cam algorithm! I have been faithfully watching every video since. Thank you for all your hard work!!!!
Thanks for watching :)
Hi Jan 👋 great work for these 2 years! I think I saw first your UA-cam Channel a year ago on instagram. and of course it was about how to make a moss pole 🤣. Was looking for more infos and your plants were so impressive, I saved your channel and been a follower since then! Funny for me in Canada that seasons are reversed and I enjoy you showing your growing conditions and I have developed a passion for anthuriums because of you. Keep going 👍👍👍
Thank you so much :) happy growing :)
I love myself some feel-good stories 😻And you definitely make me feel good all the time! Found you on YT when you had 8k subs and have been following your journey ever since. So glad you stuck around and share your vibes and knowlegde. Big German hug from Holland 🌱♥
That's so nice to hear :) I love making people feel good :)
I love how you just get to the point in every video. No time wasted on never ending intros haha.
Oh I can definitely waffle on ever now and then but thank you:)
oh dear, must have been the camera angle...you are the guru for my moss pole and Aroid addiction. I'm proud that you have been as successful as you should be! Although, I am sometimes cursing you when they go to the shower, watered differently than soil plants, but I needed a new Horticultural science challenge...thanks to you, Tim, Aj, and Baby Kitty!...x
Thanks :)
Hello Jan, thé first time i Saw your vidéo was in april 2024 i think. You were gardening in Tim's garden (Tom??). You were very relax and gave lots of explainations, as i'm gardener too i enjoy very much watching plants vidéos ! I'm in France. I love plants and have now my first Ikea cabinet 😊🎉 Thanks to share your plants experiences from Australia👍🌿
Thanks :) happy growing !
Adorable then adorable now! I found you here on UA-cam when I was searching for soil mix and you were by far the most knowledgeable and super informative plus you took other peoples knowledge on board and I love that and made me love ya 😂🙌🏽😁💚
Thanks heaps :)
I started following you way back then. You were so likeable.
There is pretty big chat about alocasias in Russia. There somebody said about you channel, so from that moment for two months I‘ve been watching all your videos one by one, actually some of these first monotone beautiful videos I watched three or four times, you encouraged me to make my own wall of poles, my Sebu blue already has the extension of it’s first pole, happy days🎉 thank you so much
It was fun to watch you commenting your own videos
Thank you:)
I don't even remember how I found you but I am pretty sure you popped up in my UA-cam recommendations one day and I just recall being mesmerized by your collection! No other channel compared! I've been a loyal follower since! 😊
Thank you so much :)
Hi Jan. I found you some years ago, when I did research for my first ever crawling Philodendron. I know they are not really your thing but I still did learn the chop and extant method from you and applied it to my gloriousum and wanted to share this with you, so you maybe can use it too and give your method a new twist. I bought 2 big long balcony pots which are 80cm long but have 2 inner pots (each 40cm) inside. So first when my Gloriosum was tiny I potted it in 1 inner pot and a dean McDowell in the 2nd to make the pot look fuller right from the start and when after 1 year both plants did reach the end of there inner pots I took the empty inner pots from the other balcony pot (yeah I was prepared early lol) and filled them with substrates and gave them both the full 80cm pots. In the 2nd year the plants did grow over the next 40cm and when they did reach the end of the pot again I made a cut right in the middle inbetween the 2 inner pots, took the first half out and pushed the 2nd inner pot to the beginning of the pot and the other inner pot I did put back empty with substrate infront. Hope that explanation makes sense to you. It worked really well for me.
I think I found you when I searched for a specific plant care. Old Jan wasn’t cringy, just not as relaxed as current Jan. 😀🇨🇦
Thanks :)
I thought I saw you first on instagram, but later when I wanted to learn more about plants I was searching for videos, and you turned up!💕 I never left and have my own youtube channel now🥰
Happy growing :)
People were talking about you in my Facebook plant groups, and I watched your moss pole tutorials and then all videos after that.
Happy growing :)
Hi Jan! Great video as always.💚 The very first video I ever watched from you was the Moss Tutorial from 2 years ago. I’ve been a fan ever since!
Thanks :)
Hi Jan

I followed you on IG to your first new UA-cam! 🎉 What a journey I learned so much from you and am still learning more! Thank you so much! 😘💚
Thanks :)
Your face when most of the plants are dead or sold lol
I found you early last year I was looking up how to make moss poles.
I can't wait until my splendid looks like yours.
I would watch the videos even if it was 30mins of Bradley sitting there with a plant backdrop he's so cute, but hats off to you, you have defo improved but I love majority of your videos, binge watched the older ones when started following you.
Thank you:)
I loveeeee this video! I love just hearing you talk and obviously seeing your little baby 🐈 😻
Thank you:)
This was a fun watch ☺ I was reccomended your chanel on youtube and I have watched every video! I wish we could see your subscriber numbers at each stage just for interests sake. You smiling more is the best progress of all. Well done on everything, looking forward to the years ahead.
Thank you:)
“That’s dead!” Story of every plant person’s life, lol.
😂😂
Recommended by someone on a plant FB group. Watched the moss pole playlist
I had followed you on instagram for a while. Then when I saw one of your moving videos, I think it was this last move, then I was hooked and binged all your old videos.
Thank you:)
Okay because I had to stop to just thank Mr Bradley for gracing us with the presence of his back Bumper first thing before anything! Haha It was truly an honor! 🥴… He said, “It’s his world and we are just living in it!” 🐈….😂😂🤣❤
He's the cutest isn't he !!
I cannot recall exactly, but I first found you either looking for a specific philodendron video or for moss pole tutorial. I like to see video about specific plant before I buy it so it could be it... Yeah! Now I remember, I searched for dubia video as I heard that it changes in time 😅 And I stayed ever since 💚
Thank you :)
i think the first video i saw of yours was the first video you did about your ariod mix! it came up on my feed and i was just like damn this guy really knows what hes talking about!
Thank you:)
Liebe Grüße, Ines.🤗
Vielen dank :)
I started watching about 6 months ago. Just searching youtube for plant care. I moved from Northern US to the Southern US, into a tiny house. All but 3 of my plants I gifted to friends. I started increasing my plants outdoors. You came up on my feed and through your plant care I began my journey of growing on a few moss poles. I have to be careful not to collect to many as I have to take them into the garage when it gets cold in the winter. Love your channel and your fun personality, and Bradley is a fantastic bonus. Also so glad you cut the music. 29:08
You are one of the very first planty creators, i followed. I think, the 1 YT Video was the 10 Tips for plant parents or something about gloriosum, alocasia or monstera dubia.
I am not 100% sure, because I immediately binge-watched all Videos, I could find 😅 ...and very much enjoyed the journey as of then.
Greetings from sunny Germany ☀️❤
By the way, you and your gorgeous plants are responsible for the beginning of my ADHD houseplant hyperfixation 😅😋
Thank you :) Happy growing !
I was watching KillThisPlant and your video came up! I don't remember if he mentioned your channel specifically or if it was the algorithm, but I'm glad I found your channel 9 months ago!
Thank you:)
Salut Jan. Carl
Congratulations, so well deserved 👋👋👋👋👋🌱🌱🌱🌱 Looking forward to 1000s more videos and excited to see your future unfold 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you Fay :)
I first came across you on instagram when you did a reel with Jake The Plant Guy and at that stage I was frustrated with my Micans, so was inspired to find you on UA-cam. Been hooked ever since! Oh and my plant collection has grown exponentially! 😆
Thank you:) happy growing !
❤That was so much fun!
Thanks :)
Congrats Jan!
Thank you:)
What an incredible journey Jan! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. And most importantly for sharing Bradley with us all ❤🐈👍
Thanks :)
My first video was watching you make moss poles. I am not sure how I found you but most likely from UA-cam. Keep up the great work. I do remember wondering what your name was..
Thank you:) My name is Jan :)
The first video of you I watched was a reel on Instagram. When I saw your amazing, huge philodendron, I was absolutely stunned. That's why I decided to follow you. I appreciate the effort you put into growing these plants and sharing them with us while bringing some inspiration!!!
Thanks :)
Fisrt time seeng you was a feed, you were showing your Philodendron Verrucosum, and the oxalis shaking, they looks so amazing, so i was hooked to watching more :)
Thank you:)
I first found you by way of the Leca Queen YT videos and followed ever since.
I have recently started a channel I hope to be like you one day. I was introduced to you by Claire from jungle haven she showed some of your videos and I started to follow you on UA-cam and Instagram. I feel the same way getting comfortable with the camera is something you work on. Love you and your videos and Brad so much
Thank you so much :) happy growing !
UA-cam algorithm recommended your channel but I can’t remember the first video I watched. So glad you don’t play background music anymore 😅 You’re so relaxed now 😎 I love your channel because you’re so fun, upbeat and I love your sense of humour and not forgetting of course the plants 🪴🪴
Thanks :)
Brad sweetheart 💚💚
I found you via searching moss poles but fell for you at stuttgart cannas..and you dropping fbombs n stuffing around..oh and Timmy and AJ 😂❤❤
hehe cheers :)
Haha, your videos are awesome. Just took a bit to feel more comfortable in front of the camera, now you have evolved and more yourself.
Cheers :)
First video I watched was one about the moss poles :D
YAY!
Merci!
Thank you so much :)
Im so happy I found your channel and learned a lot. Moss pole, adjusting my medium based on my location and how I want to care for my plants ( Im a chronic over-waterer). Getting to know Timmy and Tim and AJ is a sure sure pleasant bonus. Congratulations!
Thank you:)
I found you randomly through the instagram algorithm, think it was a reel showing off your Verrucosum which made me get one lol.
I found you by doing research on making moss poles, and found it interesting enough to continue watching all your videos to the extent of checking everyday if there was a new one, (didn't know at that stage it was every Tues and Thurs) you are for sure so much more relaxed in front of the camera these days, my favourite saying of yours is "it is what it is right" my partner always reply's "thanks Jan !! 🤣looking forward to the next 2 years of sharing your journey.🦦
hehe thank you :)
I found your video about alocasias and sent it to one of my friends. Then, I started watching all of your videos and haven't stopped 😅
Thanks :)
your facial expression, eye contact, also how you talk👀are now more natural
camera angles & quality 🎥improved a lot too :)
I came across your channel from the first few "instructional" videos too
"gift that away~ gift that away~ gift that away~" LOL
Thank you:)
Danke :)
💚
You weren't cringe as all!!! Those were really good for being your first couple of videos!!
Thanks :)
💜💜
I love your cat 🐈 he’s adorable!! 🥰
He is!!!
Mandela Effect !?!?
I definitely, 110%, KNOW I've been watching you for more than two years now !
(Coz my dad was still here (alive))
I've been on IG for about 5 years so maybe that's where the wrong memory comes from :)
So glad the music is gone. I found your channel when yor where in that apartment without a garden and I was getting into aroids
Bedankt
Vielen dank :)
Yeah! Zweite!
tell kitty hi for me!
You weren’t at all cringy! I’m about to try filming my first videos and I guarantee they’ll be worse. 😂
