Considering a lot of wizards are using Ephemeral Visage and speeding up other damage effects, seeping procs pretty often and as long as you're under the buff also causes the poison ticks to increase in frequency. While 4% chance is pretty low, its best applied with a build that's going to have frequent hits landing in rapid succession. Also a substantial amount of potency vs target is going to be required to really get the most bang for your buck. While losing the ability to interrupt bandaging hurt the gem, the application of trapping multiple people on an idol with a sped up Blustercrux wind and meteor of preference isn't something to frown at when the opponents explode and spread it to their nearby teammates.
This isnt a trash gem by any means, but you need to have a proper setup to really maximize its efficacy.
I don't understand why people ignore the second ability of this gem. And they only focus on dmg, and if it's not in the first place, it means it's garbage. "This poison spreads to nearby enemies if the victim dies. " this utility is huge, combine it with Starfire Shard and you have a factory to produce CC, without your presence in the fight.
Do you know how many times I lost a PC because someone ran to where the Defenders teleported to, trying to heal, died from dmg, Seeping Bile then jumped to the people who had just teleported, causing to refresh, and since 20 seconds had already passed, this caused chain reaction of all his gems, including Starfire Shard, which knock up the people who had just teleported, hindering their defense, and thanks to this the Attackers were able to push the Idol to the end.
So it makes me laugh when someone says that this gem is no longer useful in pvp.
This gem acts as an "Activator" for all other gems. And because it can jump to others, in theory it can cause a chain reaction straight from the Factorio game.
Even in a purely PVE game, sometimes there will be a few NPCs you miss, and it's this possibility of Seeping Bile jumping over them and killing them that makes this gem solid.
Seeping Bile is in first place with damage with poison gems. Ppl that don't understand the gem get stuck on the 4% thinking it doesn't proc. With full gear Bile procs under 2 secs every time single target and instantly in mobs because everything sets it off. ALSO the slight delay actually helps you not waste poison and a 20 sec cooldown on something you're just running by.

Mothers Lament
Vipers Bite
Blood Soaked Jade
Bottled Hope
Roilling consequence
Star fire Shard
Seeping Bile .
He is almost 2k resonance.
And gets MVP in Battle Grounds quite often .
I think seeping Bile is a great Gem . Especially with the added crit .
Running the Helm that increases dot tick speed
Along with the chaos orb.
And arcane deputy

PA and seeping need a rework. they've been devalued way to much for 5* gems

AND, BTW. If we are discussing trash gems let's have a discussion about zwensons. I finally sold my 5 star zwensons at the lowest cost.
The test is fine and everything, but this should be tested with 5k power and up; At this point in the game everyone should know that DOTs work with high potency, I have over 5.5k potency with a dot build and SB does good damage, it is more than obvious that if you do not have a Dots build or have potency less than 2k will be of no use to you but that does not mean that the gem is "trash"
In this comparison its trash, more potency in the setup isnt going to make it better.
It only gets better (compaired to VP) if your'e able to level it up and at 5k, you probbaly have a r10 Bile.
@@zombieunicornasaurus My SB its rank 6 im not a haeavy spender but i have quite good secondary stats and it works fine, we all know that apollyon doesnt have good SS as a 4k reso player, thats why I say thats potency helps this kind of gems, try getting 7k potency and SB plus agmet set will melt you in pvp.
All that potency for 1 extra tick of damage.
Blizzard needs to rework a lot of gems not just the 5* there's a lot of thrash gems that nobody use
There would probbaly be alot of upset people that trashed gems if they make overhaul stuff.
My problem is I want a mothers lament, vipers bite and seeping bile. But I only really have one slot available. At the moment I'm favouring mothers lament. My other 7 slots are all 5 star gems (BSJ, Bottled Hope, Starfire Shard, Gloom Cask, Void Spark, Blessing of the worthy and Maw of the deep). Not sure what to keep or swap out.
Can swap out Blessing of the Worthy, for seeping bile.

Depends on your class! I'm literally building a blessing of the worthy to swap out a 5/5 rank 5 bile. I'm a melee class and bile is pretty useless for me in pvp.
Exactly. Never been a big fan of blessing even though at the time I was running with it. Still sits in my bag
To add to the person's comments about reading ALL of the things SB does let us not forget it also slows enemies as well.
U need to check breakdown since it actual shows gem damage instead of u just looking at overall
Seeping is decent for ranged classes. But for melee classes it makes zero sense other then farming to run a dot build.

From Week 1 of this game, Seeping Bile has been considered as only gem second best to BSJ.
Now, because people discover the cheaper Viper's Bite, SB is no longer good?
I'm not buying it. I keep my Seeping Bile.
It doesn't end with 312 u didn't go to breakdown...
Viper works on every single target hit, immediately with first hit from anything. Bile rarely procs. Really griefs people who invested into the gem. Nerf viper or fix bile.. one has to change.
While you compare seeping bile with viper's bite it seems you're not taking in account that your seeping bile has +200 res and it still hit meh, this gem is basically for spenders, who can lvlup this gem to high rank to have more res(more damage thru stats but not from the gems dots) this is the only benefit of this gem. It's still good in OW with Viper and 1* dot gem and maybe pvp but players with high resistance will make all dots to tik less so less tiks less damage from set bonus. In raids(this one needs clarification) people say that only one seeping bile dot can be present on a target if it's correct then it's meh in the raids as well.
You're not taking into consideration the Vipers is R10, the correct way to test is gems at the SAME RANK.

We are so much more damage now compared to even 3 months ago that makes Seeping Bile useless for additional damage source. In my case I was doing around 600-800K dps. With the new update that jumped to 1.1-1.2 million dps, I am low level 1600 Res player.
With the new 5 Stars, SB is thrash for the Barbarians Class.
Not a trash gem it procs alot more then 4%

I have to disagree with the last comment that SB is trash for melee. As a dolphin/God only knows player, every bit of DOT matters for both melee as well as ranged class. As a sader I rush in, proc my skills and with the right secondary base both my SB and my vipers triggers. So even if and when I die it is still performing its duty. I can't even count the times when I'm on CD and see I just killed 1 or sometimes even 2 players thanks to SB. You must look at your build as a whole to make this awesome gem. In my opinion this is a must have gem for ranged as well as melee. Hizziest101 heavens server. Peace 😊
Dot builds as a melee is a complete waste especially as a sader when you're job is to tank/buff. Dot builds tickle whales so you must be playing in a really low bracket to actually be killing people with a sader Dot build as a dolphin 😂. Dot builds are based on dps which only demon hunters and wizards are consistent enough per second to be useful..git gud
Damage is damage no matter how you cut it. If I can dot players as well as tank, cause dots on the other team as well then I have done my job and helped my team gain wins. Again. Damage is Damage no matter how small and miniscule it may be as a melee. It's still Damage. At the end of the day that is what we all strive to achieve. @@seanphilter1884 it's a waste of gem slots when you could use damage reduction like blessing of the worthy or frozen and sit on the idol longer so your team can actually win.
That is true but blessing is meh but it is in my bag. As far as my other gems, frozen, gloom, BSJ, bottled, starfire, AND believe it or not Chip are part of my builds relating to melee BUT. I still run SB cuz again. Damage is damage right? BTW, it's nice having a nice conversation with someone like yourself :) wish everyone could have a stable conversation like we are having. Cheers
@seanphilter1884 botw 16 percent flat damage reduction is more then meh for a tank.
