@Niklas S Cleveland has a few. All very different and unique in their own way. I've lived in some major ones; NYC, San Fran, Charlotte... Cleveland neighborhoods are a bit different in a good way!!
I grew up near Cleveland. The company that my Dad worked for had an office in the Arcade building. Mom would take us downtown, meet dad, and go to a restaurant in the Higbee building-great memories-welcome to Cleveland, Adam!
Hilarious to see you in Cleveland! I worked at the Galleria when I was young & beautiful Now I too am retro - no longer young or beautiful! Winkelman's - every woman working in that department store with me had an abundance of style and grace!
I was in Cleveland in 1995 for the ignaural year of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I visited the Galleria then and it was bustling and beautiful. Your vlog brought back memories. Thanks for taking us along.
Good morning Adam. Oh how Cleveland has changed since I was a kid. And the Tom Hanks movie was The Da Vinci Code (2006). Thank you for sharing your adventures in Cleveland with us. Brought back childhood memories. Have a wonderful, magical and blessed weekend.
Being born and raised here, I want to thank you for this great video you put together on the downtown area. I learned a couple things I didn’t know, and thought the city looked good. Also, it was nice to not hear any Cleveland negativity for a change. Thank you. Sorry the game didn’t go your way. Hope you enjoyed your stay.
Thanks for the tour of downtown Cleveland! It brought back memories of my childhood. In high school I would take the rapid transit downtown for 35 cents and sit in the bleachers at the old Municipal Stadium for 50 cents to watch the Indians several times a year. Great memories, even as much has changed. I think that empty mall had just opened shortly before I left Cleveland in the early 80s.
Remember going to the muni for games, youth group or union member dependents taking a bus up from Summit county. What, 80,000 thousand capacity. And an announced crowd of 7, 8 thou. Trying to slide down to the foul line boxseats and maybe get a souvenir. But only got chased out by ushers. What if George S. had stayed home? Go ahead and make your $ however you see fit? Yes the Yanks have a fine history, but the Steinbrenner's could have brought it all back home.
At the very beginning, you're on Euclid street. I was just touring Cleveland not too long ago and I love that area! Cleveland is awesome! Excellent video!!!
I lived I. Downtown Cleveland in the 70’s. It was comparative vibrant at that time. I still haven’t gotten over the fact that Columbus is the largest city in Ohio now! COLUMBUS !
Very cool. I love where I live now but the 10+ yrs I lived in Cleveland were some of my best years of my life!!!! You captured the vibe of the city on an early Sunday morning perfectly. It's hard to believe that just a few hours before you shot this, the city was alive with crowds! Fri and Sat nights are a ton of fun with all the restaurants, bars and night clubs packed with people having a blast! When the Browns are playing downtown gets pretty wild ( or it used to, I haven't been there in almost 20 yrs). W 6th St used to be insane before and after the game. Then Browns sucked and lost ALL the time( not much has changed in that deparment!). However, if they somehow managed to win one, then the party was really ON!! It's funny seeing downtown all quiet like this and it shows you how cool the architecture is. It's a GREAT city! A lot to do and see there!
Thank you for showing some of the great parts of the city I was born and raised in and still live. I worked in downtown Cleveland for 28 years, in the Justice Center. I watched lots of movies being filmed during my lunch hour, ate at Tower City, the Galleria and the Old Arcade. hope you enjoyed your time here. Had I known I definitely would have tried to come meet you and thank you for your great content, always, in person!
Adam, the funny thing is, Cleveland would actually be a great location to have a second home for you during the summer months and early fall. We are in the heart of baseball country and there are many MLB ballparks within a reasonable days drive from here. Pittsburgh: 2 hours Cincinnati: 3.5 hours Chicago: 6 hours Philadelphia: 7 hours Milwaukee: 8 hours New York city: 8.5 hours Boston: 10 hours Detroit: 3 hours Plus, Cleveland would love to have the Woo ! 😎
What a lot of beautiful architecture in Cleveland. I would love to see those malls come back, much better than the newer ones. Our mall is trying to come back. I see more and more people there when I go. I give my mall my business first whenever I can. I love this vlog as I had no idea what was in Cleveland. My favorite is Superman too. I was disappointed they put marvel in California Adventure and took out Bugs land for the little kids.
I haven’t been to Cleveland in almost 25 years. Lots of cool history in this video. Never understood why people in the north east would malign Cleveland as the mistake by the lake. People I met while I was there were always kind to me.
So glad to see someone enjoy these places. But having memories of when those places were packed with people , my heart breaks seeing how dead my city is.
Yay! home town area! The Arcade has a Hyatt in it. You can stay in rooms overlooking the inside (at least pre-pan). Cleveland is so underrated. Tower City at Christmas back in the day was beautiful. It's kind of sad to see it so barren. I hope you go to try some of the great food while you were there, Ohio City, Lakewood etc!
Love your travel vlogs, even at the airports. Thanks for taking a break on the Disney, a little of that goes a long, long way. Thanks for taking us on your Rays journey. #GoBraves!
As someone who worked in downtown Cleveland for many years (years ago, when all of these shopping venues were thriving), this depressed the hell out of me. But I can't get over well they seem to be maintained -- they aren't falling apart -- they are just deserted and sad.
Yes COVID killed downtown Cleveland and many other major cities too. Hopefully they can take care of these buildings in hopes of it returning eventually.
Hi Adam, welcome to CLE! Some info on the Galleria. I had one of the last retail stores in there. The mall was built by Dick Jacobs, previous owner of the Indians and why the ballpark is still called "The Jake" by locals, and it was a total luxury gem of downtown shopping. You could buy from the national chains and the mall would deliver to your house later if you wanted. However, all the leases for the big stores came up for renewal at once and the mall found it hard to continue. Fun fact: the Hard Rock was interested in putting a restaurant in there because of the proximity to the Rock Hall of Fame but the mall was still posh and dynamic and the owner did not want a spinning guitar in front of his building. A new owner took over and he was also a great guy. I am a big supporter of public transportation and the city has done wonderful things, but one of the things that created the biggest challenge to us surviving there was when the city did major construction to create new bus lanes down Euclid Avenue, basically bisecting the city for a long time while it was being done and making it difficult to serve many of our customers. At the same time they took all the street parking along the mall and turned it into a bus lane. Sales were very challenged during those times. But we hung in there until our space was repurposed as part of a new YMCA. But we loved being a part of downtown CLE for 30 years and I still exist in suburbia.
I shopped in Cleveland often when those stores were active. I love how Cleveland keep the old structures because they are so beautiful. I would love to live in the places in an apartment conversion.Beautiful.
I used to eat lunch in that Galleria food court. That mall was the "bees knees" back in the late 90's.. So sad to see it and Tower City empty. We do have some really beautiful architecture here. I used to go downtown at Christmas at the Higbees building. It really was as exciting as the Christmas Story movie. Hope you enjoyed your stay! Cedar Point isnt to far away 😁
Thank you for showing the Galleria. My family used to go there when I was a kid. I honestly thought it was a fever dream because hardly anyone remembers it.
Man that arcade was fantastic! I'm glad you and Ryan were able to experience that game together although, it didn't go our way. It was still a game for the ages. I've gotta get up to Cleveland in the warmer months and check out some of that vintage vibe.
I never realized Cleveland's architecture was so beautiful! Thanks for sharing this one. And sorry 'bout your Rays. Now the Guardians get to come to Gotham and fight my Yankees in our house!!!
I love the look of The Arcade. So pretty with Victorian elegance 😍 I got a little of the Grand Floridian vibe in there with the shape of the building and the upper floors. Maybe I am the only one that sees that.~~The Tom Hanks movie that you both could not remember was the Da Vinci Code. Good movie 🍿
That was a real heartbreaker of a way for the season to come to a end. But I just want to to say thank you Adam for taking us along for the ride on all the great road trips to the different Ballparks this season and being our tour guide for all the great cities and sights it’s been a fun ride. Let’s do it again next year.
I know it's going to be a good day when Adam takes us for a stroll through Americana! I believe Adam did a better job pointing out the interesting features of Cleveland than what the Chamber Of Commerce could ever do! Stay safe my friend! And travel on! Travel on indeed!
I had alot of fond memories of Cleveland, i stayed downtown and worked by the airport, so i could take the rail line. It is a great town if people give it a chance
I can confirm that those escalators were used in "Winter Soldier," as I worked as a background actor in that scene. A few other scenes were shot in that building also . . . Cheers!
As a teenager I loved shopping in this magnificent arcade. The May Company Department Store building was used in the opening sequence of The Drew Carey Show. Drew is from Cleveland! My kitchen floor has the original linoleum tiles like the ones that can be seen in the movie The Christmas Story.
Glad to see you came up for the game! I was at the game yesterday and left after the 11th. I sat 3rd base side lower level. Thanks for all the shots of downtown Adam, pretty cool you got the arcade! They still have weddings inside there every now and then, not cheap though.
Nice video Adam.Always great to see a city that I've never been to before. Thanks for all the great views of the city.👍🙂Have a awesome day Adam.Hey ,you and your friend could be cousins. You guys are great together.👍👍👍🙂
I love this place! I stayed at this hotel and mall several times during my labor day weekend stays in Cleveland Ohio! Brings back the memories of my stays here! I usually go to Cleveland every labor day weekend to go to the Cleveland National airshow and have gone to the musuems as well! Thank you for sharing! Love this video! Interesting to note to that this was birthplace of Superman! Never knew that until now! Thank you for video and history of the Arcade hotel Mall!
So sad to see it. Malls were such a staple of life when I was a boy in the 80's. The arcade, the seasonal decorations...so much. We were at Muncie Mall a few years ago and it was so beautiful, yet dead. So sad 😞
The large plaza area with the Lincoln statue was the site of the 1936 Great Lakes Exposition, a minor world's fair that extended from that plaza, down to the lake and along the lakeshore.
Terrific vlog! We live 20 minutes outside of downtown CLE and have not seen most of the the history you got to explore! What a game! A fight til the end.
Thanks for taking us on a tour of Cleveland, a place I have never been. So sorry the Rays lost, but sadly all good things must come to an end. Wait 'till next year! I grew up in New England and as a Red Sox fan we said that for many years. I moved to Tampa in high school, so I also root for the Rays. They almost made it to win the World Series a couple of times and I believe next year they will do it!
This was a wonderful video! Thanks for a great positive tour of my city. Sad to see the Galleria at Erieview empty. I ate at the food court often. It was always busy. Great stores like Eddie Bauer there also.
I go to games up in Cleveland from time to time, being a fan of course. But it's actually been a long time since I stepped into Tower City or The Galleria. Wow, did that bring back some memories. I definitely need to pop in those places and check them out for myself sometime. It's been forever.
Thank you so much for showing what a beautiful historic city we have. We have great food diverse neighborhoods little Italy. Slavic village. Parma pierogi. The east side and west side are completely different vibes. We’ll done friend. .
As a Cleveland resident originally from Buffalo, I enjoyed this and the video you posted from the game on Friday. Really nice job and I love your demeanor, along with your buddy as well.
Way to go Adam, your video's at the Ray's games proved that there are Ray's fans in Tampa-St. Pete. Thanks for the great tours of all the ballparks I couldn't get to yet. Cleveland had a great in ballpark meal which was really good and for ballpark food was really cheap. Chicken & Ribs with potato salad. When I went, the park was named after the owner, David Jacob's. Great fans, love the largest video board in all of baseball.
Very informative video. Thanks for taking us along. Another city I will probably never get to see except through your videos. So thank you and Ryan for filming it. Be safe and Happy Trails
William Packard the creator of Packard electric in Warren Ohio, about an hour south of Cleveland created the very first street lights. Warren ohio had the first street lamps in America. By the way it was nice meeting you at the game yesterday.
Adam ty 4 coming 2 Cleveland you did incredible job on our city hope you come next year stay safe out there XOXO sending you tons of love prayers support and hugs cheers 2 guardians
@Adam if you’re still around check out Castle Noel in Medina (not far from the airport) they have a ton of Christmas related movie props including the original Cousin Eddie’s RV! The slide from Macy’s in a Christmas Story, many ELF props. Lots of toys from Christmas past on display as well.
Thanks for the video I live in Cleveland Ohio . And I never paid attention to alot of things down there. I haven't been to that library in years great stuff.
It’s fun to see a new place. I literally fly into the Cleveland airport today, the 9th, for work. I’m actually going to be working in Sandusky for week, but hope I’ll get a small chance to look around.
@@danip3270 Cedar Point? Oh definitely! It’s one of the best amusement parks in the country, especially for roller coaster lovers. They have their spooky event, Halloweekends, going on this month too.
Cleveland is great, "a small Chicago". River, lake, sports, culture. Rock ,n' roll hall of Fame! 🎶🎼👍🏡 Train 🚂 from airport to downtown. Terminal tower had a Woolworth store & winter ice rink !!
Thanks for the tour of my city! My husband and I both work downtown and it is a great City( better before Covid) thanks for showing us some things I didn’t know were there! Glad you had fun, sorry your team lost😢
It’s nice to see how well kept those buildings are. Cleveland is an underrated city with some great cultural. Thank you Adam.

The heart of rock and roll is in Cleveland
Cleveland ROCKS!!!!!!!! I seen Mary Poppins movie at Arcade when the movie was released. 60’s. The rooms are nice there also.😊
So crazy to see you all the way in my city!
This was a great and quite interesting video of Cleveland. Thanks for sharing this video with us Adam. As always another great video.
Hi Adam, that was cool to see the history and souvenirs of Superman!:)
I just adored this vlog. As a long time lover of DC, this was just ❤🎉.
Very informative video. Thanks for taking us along. Another city I will probably never get to see except through your videos. So thank you and Ryan for filming it. Be safe and Happy Trails
That was one of the best pitching and defensive games I've ever seen.
William Packard the creator of Packard electric in Warren Ohio, about an hour south of Cleveland created the very first street lights. Warren ohio had the first street lamps in America. By the way it was nice meeting you at the game yesterday.
Cleveland also had the first traffic lights in the country
I loved this tour of Cleveland, etc. It was very informal and enjoyable. Thanks, Adam... 💛☀️🤠
Hey welcome to the land 😊
The Arcade is an awesome building. I first visited it in the early 90s. Kind of a hidden gem.
It’s beautiful
Beautiful arcade. Sad it's so empty and can't believe how dead the mall is now. Hope it makes a comeback somehow
Adam ty 4 coming 2 Cleveland you did incredible job on our city hope you come next year stay safe out there XOXO sending you tons of love prayers support and hugs cheers 2 guardians
Pretty cool city! That empty mall was definitely giving off Stranger Things vibes!
Please go to the West Side Market you will love it I promise.
Yes that place is awesome. It's a must see.
Sorry about the Rays!!!! Thanks for the downtown tour. Have a great Sunday!
Adam you and Ryan's voices, could do great voice overs
Thanks for the video I live in Cleveland Ohio . And I never paid attention to alot of things down there. I haven't been to that library in years great stuff.
Welcome to my home town!!! Moved about 16 yrs ago but live there through my early 20s!
The Mall segment was surreal, sorry to see your Rays come up short. Excellent content MrWoo👌🏽
One of your best, Woo! Thanx for the tour and baseball game!
It’s fun to see a new place. I literally fly into the Cleveland airport today, the 9th, for work. I’m actually going to be working in Sandusky for week, but hope I’ll get a small chance to look around.
Sandusky is a cute town! It’s always fun to watch the crazy Cedar Point crowds from afar.
@@ghoularty2030 I looked the town up online and noticed the park. Is it worth a visit on a weekday night?
@@danip3270 if you like rollercoasters, you HAVE to go!!
@@AdventureswithChristine I'll have to look into that 😁
@@danip3270 Cedar Point?
