Can I just say how great it is having you two back together? It’s been so fantastic, love it.
Agreed. It’s perfection
Yeah, every video you just think to yourself: "Yeah, this feels right".
Spoke too soon 😢
@@kswa-th7vr what happened??
The interaction between you two is so natural, just a pleasant experience watching your videos.
Love to see Ian (taylormade and titleist lover) practicing what he preaches as someone by not ignoring the numbers that ping driver produces... would love to see how the launch numbers differ with the stock weight vs. the smaller weight.
It’s so great to see you 2 work together best channel on UA-cam to get information on club/ball purchases. Looking forward to your review of new Titleist pro v 1 & X
It's funny.
In my head, my swing looks just like Ian's... then I see the numbers and I realize, it is, in fact, all in my head!
Nice to see the process. Cheers!
:)
Loving the content boys. Have to agree with the other comments. Fantastic to have you back together ❤️
Great stuff as always. Love watching you two put your heads together in the lab. That said, it would be really cool to see a little more on-course content!! Feel free to show us some moments from these trips coming up.
Very impressive the consistency of the Ping. Looks like a much more confident move through impact with it as well. That’s the biggest selling point. Ian just looked to swing with far less hesitancy with the Ping. Great video
Agreed! The numbers are just awesome, would seriously consider it if it didnt look like that.. just cant wrap my head around it
@@nicolasmorin9549 Agree. I'll stick with my M2 and Sim Max.
I went from a ts2 to a 430 max this year. The off center and low strikes were what made me switch. It really does have excellent forgiveness.
I was in nearly the same place testing. I ended up in the TSr2. (from TSi3) my winter swing is 106-110 & with the efficiency I'm hovering around 160 ball.
Always a good day when TXG uploads
I have loved the g400 max and tried the 430 max 9 deg was too low launch and spin. Previously could play a 8 deg digitally lofted g400 max no issues. Got the 10.5 g430 max and was immediately better. This club has done wonders lowering launch and spin but still remaining forgiving on low and heel strikes which is my miss. They took the lst sauce and put some in the max. Great job by ping and great on Ian for playing what works. Combo of distance and dispersion is best with this ping driver this year.
Is there anything better than a 2023 full Ping bag? Even the i230s are ridiculously consistent. Their wedges are the best in wet conditions and their fairways/hybrids are always top-notch.
My 16 year old son just got fitted for the G430 LST. He's always played Taylormade previously. His current driver is the Sim2 Max but he finds it too spinny. As soon as he tried the G430 he knew this was the club to put in his bag. Looking forward to seeing him put it in play. Thanks for showing this session.
Great video. I was hitting the Ping G410 prior and it worked very well. I switched to the TSI2 and the results for me so far have been very similar. I can’t get past the amazing look of the Titleist vs the Ping, however which was a massive factor when I decided to make the change. I love the appearance of the Titleist drivers.
I was in the same predicament & ended up going with the Ping G430 Max as well. Similar results with more forgiveness, that’s hard to beat. Be prepared to see some great on course results.
Just did a fitting with the TXG crew in Calgary. I got fitted into the 430 SFT. The dispersion on it for me was similar here, very tight on the misses. Even the normal weak power fades kept their distance and stayed "findable". If you haven't considered it I strongly wood. The revamp makes it sound WAY better than last year too. I golf with a buddy who has a 425 and it is night and day.
Loved the Ping G430. The confidence that Ian has in the Ping speaks volumes!
I had a G410 3W that I enjoyed before traded up to a Rogue ST Max last year. But I kept the Ping hybrids in the bag. So easy to hit.
Based on the strikes that you showed, I think the Ping is the driver I would choose. Spin is what has kept me away from the G410 when it came out. Still have the 3 & 5 in the bag. Have tried others but always go back. They just bring confidence to my strike for some reason. Great, now I want to check out the 430.
Tried the 430Max vs the 400 Max this weekend. 430 brought my launch and loft down and increased ball speed. Got an additional ~20 total yards, ~10 carry. But, I couldn’t get along with the Tour 2.0 65 S even though I’m coming from the Tour 65 S in my 400 Max.
Gunna see if I can try the 430 Max again with the original Tour 65 S.
This is a great video!! I’ve never tried the Ping drivers before!
i like the PING for you, i liked the graphic that showed the height difference in the air. the ping was lower and traveled the same, thats some penetrating ball flight on those windy days!
Played PING for decades - TSr3 was the only driver to beat it in a fitting last fall. Once outside I couldn’t get over the glare of the mirror finish on the Titleist and sent it off for a new paint job! Most $$$ I’ve ever spent on a single club 😀
glad this came now as going for a ping max fitting thursday ,and for a senior i know it should be fine for me good show again
Great video. Can’t discount the confidence the Ping gives you. I’d still go with TSR3 myself. Keep the WITB videos coming!
I tried both drivers recently and really wanted the TSR to match my Titleist irons but the G430 LST driver was so damn forgiving. I wasn’t losing anything besides more errant shots. The TSR has a classic look with a glossy top and it distracted me for some reason. The matte finish on the G430 is awesome! Oh and the sound of the 430 is so much better than the 425.
As expected, another great video boys… definitely a great problem to have in deciding between the Ping and Titleist. I’d love to see the Ping out on the course. Let me know where y’all are headed… I could use a break from the winter we are having here in Denver. 😉
I was thinking the same thing..."when's our flight?"
Enjoyed the video...I was playing the G400 Max because I didn't like the acoustics of the G410 or G425. I purchased the G430 and believe it sounds a lot like the G400 but it is amazing how much higher and further the ball goes...Great Driver!!
The 425 3W is one of the best clubs I've ever owned. Its outrageously forgiving and accurate. Took me from never considering Ping, to serious considering them for my next driver.
Agree. I have the 5 wood gunned down to a 16 degree and the 7 wood turned down to 19 and it’s like cheating. Flying and holding greens from 230 to 260 with those 2 clubs like never before.
I never owned a Ping club in my life until I bought G410 driver in late 2019. Then I bought the 425 and soon I'll buy a 430. Never swinging any other brand of driver again, they're that good. I wanna get that 3 wood also
agree i have the 425 lst its a monster,,,, have the stealth but thinking next golf season back to the 430
There’s no such thing as Ian’s driver. It’s an incessant rotation of the one he’s playing now, the one he’s testing, and the one he’s always building in his head.
The driver of Theseus
Agreed, and I was mostly joking. But for now he’s a Ping man.
His driver is like a calendar year - a swing for all seasons. 4x tinkerer
i thought he was playing the stealth+ from last year still haha
I see donkeys every year at my club with new drivers. Always hit them exactly the same. Sometimes worse.
Never say Never Ian, You are quickly becoming TXGCC Best Customer LOL... I Must admit, like you I am surprised to see you romancing the New Ping Driver, But as you always say "The numbers don't lie" what impresses me most is that this club is allowing you to eliminate one side of the fairway, it is minimizing your miss with almost no loss of distance. Love It !!!
I love seeing the WITB videos for you two!
Great to see Ian choose Ping! I think his next choice should be his Ventus vs the new Stock Ping Tour Black shafts. I think Ping has had them designed to compete with Ventus.
Great video. Ian have you tried out the TSR2? I tried out the Paradigm, Stealth 2, Ping and the TSR2 in a fitting. The Titleist TSR2 w HZDARUS Black Smoke 6 shaft outperformed all the others for me...better ball speeds and in the short grass more often. I liked the Ping alot but was just losing some ball speed compared to the TSR2.
The TSR3 is still pound for pound the best in the business. Built with the right shaft, It is an absolute ball speed monster. 👍💪🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏💯💯🔥🔥🔥
a new video of the LST vs MAX for Ian would be interesante
funny to see him make the change already. over/under on next change :) in the end its all about getting fit.
You guys are awesome
hmmm. strike strayed a little more on the tsr3. more strikes up the head which will reduce ball speed. ping was lower on the face which would increase ball speed. maybe a little added weight to the tsr3 would help that. both look like great options though.
Absolutely love TXG and these videos
Thank you Brandan!!
@@ianfrasergolf I wonder if you went heavier in the TSR better dispersion like the ping. But same number ping is best. I’m surprised with the blue you didn’t like the Callaway.
Ping looks great . I have the titliest but tsr2 and I love it very forgiving without sacrificing distance
The video we've all been waiting for
Having a TSR3 as a practice driver = goals. You are the man Ian Fraser, swing looks great
I got fit and the winner was the 430 lst. I haven’t played a ping in a decade. Not sure if I’ll end up buying it. But it is a very impressive product.
Just got fit for the Paradym triple dooming with a Fujikura super speeder shaft cut down an inch. Was either that of the stealth 2 plus just couldn’t get along with the ping and absolutely hated the cobra
I have never had a Ping Driver I didn't like. Always super easy to hit. My most consistent varsity golfers shoot in the mid 70's and they all hit PIng drivers. I currently hit the Rouge ST Max but I am thinking about going back to Ping.
A course tryout is for sure needed! Given the new sound, I feel Ping new ling of woods has come a long way....soo good on them. However, the top-down look is still not appealing to me. TSR2 is sexiness :P That said, given the 4 key factors for me, (look, feel, sound and performance) TSR still should be in your bag Ian. Looking forward to a course vlog :D
Can’t beat those missed from the ping. I hit the LST a few times and it went right in the bag.
Golf is a results-oriented game. Club fitting is all about the data. If there was absolutely no performance differential (on the downside) I'd be inclined to say go with the driver you prefer the look/feel of but you can't ignore the numbers the G430 is producing
I’ve gamed the 400/410/425 all LST. Its so shocking to me that the Max could produce manageable spin numbers. Thanks for the demo!
There is something special about Ventus stable tip and a forgiving driver. Misses just go away. Not the longest but you get the same thing every time. My G410 lst and ventus black 6x not going anywhere.
I had a Ping G15, went miles, sounded terrible and could go anywhere, replaced it with a TSi3 last year and love it. The Ping sounds far better than what it has done and looks a gamer, but i really like the TSR.
Geez the ping sounds good this year, would be keen to try it!
Ping looks very good in address position. Like you said, it feels a bit shorter and looks like it will be easier to hit straight.
Great video!! The look of the crown always steers me away from ping
I really wanna try this driver! Looks outstanding
I played Ping for years and the G400 Max was as good as it gets for me.... I moved to the G425 and it didn't go well so I tried a TSI3 and it's been in the bag since..... I'm hearing great things about the G430 but my club ho days and buying the latest shiny thing are cooling off.
Ian’s Carry was 285 with the TSR3 when speed was around 110. I suspect when mid season form kicks in the TSR is the one. But G430 may be perfect when speed is down. Having both covers pretty much the whole spectrum. May just have to do the same myself and get the g430 to compliment the TSR3. With both one will always work that’s for sure.
Ian just curious if you gave the TSR2 any whacks? (Just on paper it’s the more “comparable” one) or viceVersa the LST?
I always thought you couldn’t get over the look of the ping at address… things change!
Confidence is key with all clubs. Probably especially driver. That’s what you go with.
Ian something you said near the end should drive your decision. You said you were "coasting" with both. That being the case if the dispersion is noticeably tighter with the G430 now it only stands to reason when you ramp up the speed into the season your dispersion pattern with both will get wider. It seems to me the G430 at higher speeds will save strokes that the TSR3 won't. Just food for thought.
SICK!
Have of a selfish request as I have almost the exact same setup (except my ventus is a TR Blue). How much of a difference does the weight at the back make to spin rate (I.e. does reducing it to 16g make spin drop)? A video on this would be so interesting
I find the same thing with my G425 Max - the thing just wants to go straight!
Talk about striping it down the middle. I've always been a Titleist guy but the Ping is impressive. Nice job. Go get the sun in your face. LOL
Great video... was the ventus counterbalanced or just as is? Just bought a g430 & have a ventus 5S so might experiment
I can hear the corks popping in Pheonix, Mr Fraser in a PING Driver, who'da thought it👍👍
PS It's been bugging me since he joined United that Lisandro Martinez reminds me of someone and watching Ian I realised that he and the Argentine Butcher look like twins
Hello Ian….how did the Paradym triple diamond testing go? Thank you for the great content.
I am a club fitter in Florida. Stealth had fastest ball speeds last year. This years Triple Diamond is right there with it, If not faster. Very forgiving with the heavier 14 g weight in the back! My new gamer
As an owner of the G430 I can’t recommend it enough. I’ve had G410 and G425 and the improvements are noticeable
Really enjoyed the video. Just wondering if you could now compare the ping to some others so we can see the pro and cons of others. It is helpful to know that the ping, now goes as far as the T3 and is more forgiving. Curious to know how many yards it may lose to the Stealth2,(if any) and how much more forgiving it may be.
That dispersion circle with the Ping is less than 1/2 the size of the Titleist!!! Come back to Orlando anytime gentleman?!?!? Lots of sunshine here!
I have recently got a G430 max
Hitting way more fairways
Handicap has come down by 2.4 in 4 weeks!
Choose the Ping. Would be interesting to see how it holds up in your opinion and your numbers when used outdoors over a year.
Ian is a Ping man! I'm celebrating today.
Here’s a tip:
You want to make a driver look short mentally? Put a contrasting colour grip on it. White grip for black shaft and black grip for light colour shaft.
So a question. How is the sound compared to the Titleist? I had the Fortune to test the 425 lst on 2 different times and hit it solid and in reasonable distance compared to my tsi3 gamer without a fitting (during a event, hit a ping driver and use it if better sort of thing). But i would not for anything in the world switch due to awweful sound from the ping side, actually rather hit 3wood instead 🤣 so how does it sound?
As always, love the uploads from you guys!
Ping all the way. Even non-flush strikes flew very well with decent distance.
Dispersion obviously better with ping but more than anything it seems Ian can really get after it more with the ping and feel confident it will yield a more playable result than what he would get w TSR3
This totally makes since as the new LST model is very low spin, this one fits in a nice spin window not previously for ping
Ping G430 Max is the best driver I’ve ever played. Already tried the Titleist TSR2 & 3. Ping is best combo of length and forgiveness out there.
Got my fitted G430 in yesterday and it’s been life changing. Ridiculous forgiveness, not the longest but the size of the sweet spot is legit insane.
It’s hard not being seduced into a driver that is a long bomber! I got pulled into that trap last year playing a low spin head and low spin ball. My tee game went into the toilet because any mishit put me in trouble or lacked the spin needed to stay airborne. This year, I’ve found my happy place with TSR2 and Pro V1x.
SAME TSR2 9.75 (addi 6s) + v1x = sweet
With the best drives being near equal, and the Ping managing the slight mis-hits better, it seems a no-brainer to me to put the Ping in the bag.
I own tsr 3. I find it spins up easy. If it wasn’t for that, it would be the perfect driver. Looks and feel are incredible
So true but so much better than the TSi3. I can’t find a shaft combo that works well and feels great. In a Kali white and three weeks in all going well. I can’t stand the ping turbulators like wtf. I wish Titleist would make the crown paint finish more durable. In the UK winters that finish picks up so much head on/off scratching.
@@colinboxall2692 I play the Graphite Design Iz. I struggled to adjust to it. I only played titleist clubs for almost two decades. As time goes on, I am going in different direction. I love this driver. Not sure how many more titleist clubs I will play
Ping seems to have the edge on performance. Sound/Feel? If the cosmetics were as good as the TSR3…!
Ian . I switched to this driver but Im always -9 down. It’s just the form that I’ve found, since it’s been around.
With drives that straight, there’s no downside. Confidence is key, and you seem to have found it in the Ping. Can’t wait to try it myself.
It is tempting!
I’m a titleist guy, but I would go with the ping. Thinking about testing one myself
Never been a big ping fan, but you cannot deny the consistency in that set…the ping won that matchup
I have the same feeling. My ping seem so short in my hand but when you compare with other, it’s the same. 😂
Would love to See Ian tee that ping g30 just a hair higher. Think the numbers would be even better.
That ping seems like a much more course friendly set up.
Exactly!!
Hey Ian what kind of Beer do you drink? Does it and or gambling help your game?
Was thinking of adding a few vices. Thanks.
I have the same titleist driver Ian. The writing is on the wall I thought the Ping flew better especially on mis-hits.
I think you go with the PING. For all of the reasons you shared. What I find most interesting is without some real testing I think the average UA-cam review or recreational golfer would be left with the perception that the Max belongs in the high handicap golfer's hands and not the player that you (Ian) are. Here is an example that once again supports getting a proper fit for performance. Maybe this Max means, Maximum performance for all golfers? Cheers gentlemen.
If the driver head has a weight track...it's a possible gamer for Ian! Loves an adjustable weight. Onya big man.
Interesting. I'm using the 430max with Kali X shaft. Im extremely happy with it. Just wondering about the weight in the head, I'm still using the 25g, would there be any benefit in trying the lighter weight
Great video as usual!! I was fit for the LST over the weekend but my fitter never had me hit the MAX. I trust his judgment but makes ya think. Thoughts? Ian, MAX just fit you better than the LST? Thanks guys.
I’m in the g410 Lst, it’s amazing honestly
“Spinsistency” love it. Watch out Taylor made will use that for next years campaign.🤣👍
Surprisingly I think the Ping is the best driver for you. I was surprised that you didn’t compare them with the same shafts.
Seems no contest, surprised a g430 max gave those numbers? Great stuff. Which shaft on the tsr3?
I tried the tsr3 recently with stock hrzdus 6.0. Very similar speed to Ian but noticed lie on gc4 was around 7.0dn consistently on the 2 swings I recorded. Basically straight ball. Aoa 2-3up. Launch 13 deg. Loft was 10 deg for 1 swing 15 deg on the other. 2140 spin.
What's up with that lie angle? And how did loft have a 5 deg difference yet only 1 deg at most diff in aoa and launch?
I see people asking about the TS2. That club doesn't have a moveable weight which Ian puts on the toe.
