Top tip. You can get the rifle and pistol recipes looong before you can mine Pursuit ore. But! if you get a Trickster minor card from a chest you can play it in your home realm and when you kill animals they will drop ore. I have found Cobalt, Magnesium, Pursuit, Silver, Iron, and Tin from killing animals under a Trickster Card.
when crafting you can also craft guilded lumber for even more stats on the gun, dont know if you can swap other things

The Winchester has become my favorite, hits hard, 14 shots, and has good range. One thing I've noticed especially in Vault runs is that reloading tends to get interrupted after one round is loaded and you end up having to reload several times for it to fully work.
Lee chester is the one to go, 8 rounds, much more dmg than Winchester.

Ty, good info. I went Winchester and use the charm that increases dmg until you miss. Still just running vaults though so I can buy stuff and you get some great materials. I think for t3 essence, the first one with the sun giant is best because it's faster. The other 2 just have some confusing map layouts with the crystals and such. Once I spent 25 minutes just trying to find the exit door to the next area, they need to make those more visible.
In my group i'm pretty much set as main tank as it were as much as you can tank in this game while the others gun everything down so i love the Lancaster. The quad shot opening volley before i run in ax in hand is great and the dodge it has makes for backing out of the fight nice as well once i have agro and start kiting.
Metford for me. Precision over bullet spray any day. But I would say generally your right to recommend the Winchester for the average person.
Something I have done since early game, I always set my abeyance realms to easy, Slap on a blood moon card my base is in the desert, so I run around spawning bound enemies, only 3 types will spawn, Bombadier being one of them. This is were I got all my ingots for making my ranged weapons bonus miasma resistance vs + durability, same stats otherwise vs the green ore which can only be obtained at later higher level content. This is a tip I thought I would throw out since it is what I do / did.
The double barrel shotgun is insane when using the V key shot. I did not glitch ingots and it hits for ~55k crits and ~25k non crits. The only other gun I use is the winchester for the intelligence puzzles. I personally recommend buying the double barrel shotgun first. Who doesn't enjoy sending enemies to the shadow realm?
I'm fairly early on, been playing since e release but I work absurd hours. I found the vest way to cope with the slow reload speed is roll like the Whites Comanches. I carry two rifles. First rifle made with shimmering ore for the range increase and charm of the sniper, fire then roll to a second rifle made with copper for dmg and charm of the sniper, then pistol or shotgun. I enjoy it.
I know it's early days but I'd love to see a greater variety of firearms in the game and I'd definitely like to see the addition of swords. Items such as cavalry sabres and sword canes strike me as highly befitting of the game's feel.
I got the Winchester recipe but still haven't made it yet. Trying to get my clothes upgraded first so I can stop dying every time I step in muddy water lol
you should try the refined slingbow with magick marbles. its a grenade launcher
What sucks is that there is no inventory overflow. So when you get to the watch for the first time like I did with a near full inventory I did not get the webly.

1:52 Don't forget that you can put Charm of the Sniper on your pistols to eliminate the damage dropoff over distance that pistols suffer from!
And can use ingot with range modyficator, so you can "long range" pistol. Or even a shotgun.
can you give me any tips on farming einadia? i play on hard but only have found it once. i really want my next ranged weapon to have +30% damage.
Almost every forest realm you make will have at least one of these as landmark, There's no indication on map, you can only wonder around and hope to find them.
Can try to climb a really high building and use your scope to scout it.
This information would need updated with the patch from 4/3. Using the same materials on different parts no longer stacks stats.
Are there any exciting parts of this game? So far I've just done 2 hours of gathering and clubbing easily killed minions. Seems like just wandering around gathering and spending an insane amount of time crafting many many levels of upgrades.
So this guide misses a few things, 1) you can get more range rating whoch is your range and crit by varying which ore you use, Magnesium is a good one to mix especially with #2) which is you can use crafted gilded lumber to make the stock which is not an exploit but an intended mechanism in the crafting system this brings the power of any weapon that uses lumber in its recipe up a fair bit.
Not really missed, everyone is going to ha e different resources to use, it's not a best things to use guide, I purposely used the same ore so to give baseline stats, sure of course you can make guns better but at baseline everything I said is still true, some guns are better then others. For sure I am working on different builds video but obvs takes more time
i never unlocked the rifle or shotgun and i've visited the watch, also, my achievements don't say i reached the watch :( had the under the map bug the first time
your level item level is to low. Had the same problem after all of my clothes were updated to at least level 2, I received it.
