Unfortunately, the presence of grey squirrels is completely related to human activity. They were imported to the UK as pets and then furthermore released into parks in London and across the country.
Lovely piece of work. Actually saw your wex version first and both a pleasure to view. Here on the I.o.W there is a reasonable population with no greys but road fatalities not uncommon. Look forward to watching more of your presentations. BW.
Hi Alexander, thanks for watching. I’m heading to the I..O.W in April to see the population there any recommendations of other things I should look out for?
Hello Drew, very sad that this happens to many species who are mostly threatened by bad behavior of humans and overpopulation. Thanks for showing this interesting video and story and the fantastic images of high quality!!! Greetings Gijs
@@maxhammer4067 it’s a moral conflict because the greys are only here because humans brought them here and they are just doing what they do but there obviously isn’t room for both species without compromise
Enjoyed this video with my friend. Good job
Thanks for watching!:)
It’s because of grey squirrels. Not humans.

-it is, hopefully the actions we take now can help to make a dent in the damage that’s been done.
They ate mainly getting replaced by grey squirrels.
as a teenager ive only ever seen 1 red squirrel..
I didn’t see one until I made this film so you’re not on your own.
@@DrewWebbWild - We still have a lot of them in Poland, I do hope they won't disappear.
👏👏💪
this is well put together
Thank you Andy really appreciate it!
There where red squirrels everywhere in the uk in the 80s 😢

@@DrewWebbWild
Why did humans bring them here,
I believe initially they were introduced to England as pets/zoo collections and over time they became naturalised. @@maxhammer4067
