This guy is the new hard bop hero. Blows the competition out of the water right now. No one is close.
What I love about his playing is he have a super deep traditional jazz vocabulary but can play 'out' when he wants too while still being musical ,he has none of the "look at me I'm playing out bs stuff " some modern players do. He is a genius improviser
Amazing. Love his turn-arounds. His improv brims with so much originality. Like he's on auto-pilot. A genuine guitar prodigy.
Man, Cecil's playing is so lucid and looks effortless. Heavens
Fluid*?
@@avyay4583 it get's my fluids flowing to the right places, that's for sure
@@devostm Note to self: Don't listen to Cecil in public
Great playing, awesome tele. But what really gets me is how relaxed he looks
Beautiful playing and beautiful guitar! 🔥
Absolutely incredible!!
👍🎩👍
So clean!
You are a true jazz soul!
Great playing young man I love that tele style guitar you have again great playing .
Very well played !

Sweet!
Sick!
🔴 Jazz music it's more than music... salute..
Wow!
I'm diggin' man👍
Yes sir!!!! Benson right hand style.
Donna Lee is bop
You sound great.
There is SO MUCH WONDROUS VOCABULARY compact in just such a short moment that leaves one (at least leaves me ) very well astonished & captivated 🤗🙏🏽
Has me like … WELL … TIME FOR ME TO GO BACK TO THE OLE RAWING BOARD AGAIN
after so long away from ….
Time timer-begin … to break out a ‘note lad’ once again …
To get back to SWING 🤗🙏🏽
(Surely there are so many wonderful forms of music to enjoy and explore through out life … But SWING is just so WONDROUS 🤗🙏🏽 …. And it takes quite some focus to get it all in accordingly … )
I can’t help but feel like hearing CECIL play on a nice hollow body guitar as well , sometimes 🤗🙏🏽
I just love his playing …. His phrases … his articulation … swing … slurs …. Etc… and just crave to here it all in a nice hollis body ‘Jazz Box’ Guitar as well , sometimes 🤗🙏🏽
Super nice! 0:15 reminds me of "If you could see me now"
isn't that a lick from miles davis 'four'
@@say-cred Ah yeah, that one too! 👍
So easy ! 👍🎶
SO ARTICULATE …. And yet SO SOULFUL …..
(Never mechanic )
🙏🏽🤗🙏🏽
Nice lines
Nice
does he even looks at his fretboard! great playing!
I love how easy Cecil makes it look. He has a great instructional video. Very humble guy and I’d like to hear him soar higher like benson or Wes or joe pass on the for Django album. He stocks to the middle emotionally too much for my taste but great player.
👏
Wow
W.o.w. ❤
Super ,,îmi place mult 👍🎶🎶🎸🎤🎶🎶♥️🍂🍁🎸🎤🎶👋
Kills great tone love the tele (have 4) what kind ?
It might even surprise some of many if CECIL were to say his vibe came from listening to more horn players then guitarists such as PAT MARTINO &/or GEORGE BENSON ….
But if it were to be so … it would certainly make much sense to me ….. if so 🙏🏽🤗🙏🏽
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Bro is too cool he didn't break a sweat
Somebody please do a transcription 🙏🙏🙏
He sporting the Allan holdsworth guitar .....good stuff
Wow, what kind of telecaster is that?
Certainly there would be this elf us who would really want to know what lead Cecil to play as he does … (I knownI do 🤗🙏🏽)
Just like I wanted to know what lead my No.1 Guitar Hero (GEORGE BENSON) what led him to play the way he play 🤗🙏🏽
It’s all just so amazing …. MUSIC …. And how it transpires 🙏🏽💥🙏🏽
Of course , I think for most of us we might at first just think like, WOW … GEORGE BENSON &/or PAT MARTINO …
Then I remember hearing GEORGE BENSON mention how his playing took another level after listening to CHARLIE PARKER …
So maybe there could be some of PARKER reflections t by re as we …. maybe 🙏🏽🤗
(Or some other horn players as well …. Maybe 🤗🙏🏽)
(Wish if BRO CECIL could comment on matters himself even … right in this posting 🤗🙏🏽

Why so short?
It's an étude.
Lennie Tristano line up vibes
no looking at the fretboard
0:44 very pretty
NO GUİTAR PRO FİLE???
"Shit". ( I meant that in a good way).
Sounds awful, yet feels full of life and beauty. How ?
You mean the tone, right?
@@jonathanaguirre6508 honestly idk
First time listening to music?
i think hes saying it sounds awful in the way people say that jazz sounds like random notes. but if u know whats happening this is actually pretty cool. i think hes stuck in between somewhere
@@judah142 First time listening to jazz, probably lol. There is nothing awful about this if you know anything about music
He looks like a guy watching a guy play bebop, half interested
This man looks bored playing with a play along
