No sense of how this feels to be an animal trapped like this??? These traps sicken me. I can't imagine setting these. Why?? That animal may be lame for life. You may have just ruined her ability to feed herself, or at least left her with a life of pain. I don't understand what the camera guy is laughing about. There's nothing funny here, not even the coward who nearly killed the cat running up the tree to get away from her. Who knows, maybe he did kill her! We didn't get to see her recover after being nearly choked to death! She may have been blinded by the lack of O2. We are at the TOP of the food chain. We are here to care for the natural world and animals and for that they feed us. We're not here to torture and toy with them. If you can't feel love or empathy for fellow sentient beings, at least try to respect them. This SUCKS! I hate seeing strong men acting like they don't have heart.
Always better to get down at a scared animals level. I realize this is a wild animal but getting on your knees rather than towering over him will not be as intimidating. It's a way of showing this hurt scared animal that you mean no harm. I have been able to approach injured animals by crawling towards them at a slow pace and being patient.
When you cinch down you have to grip the pole with everything you have and put the end of the pole into the ground so you have leverage. Cats are bad about twisting but coyote are worse and if you don't shove the end of the pole next to his head into the ground as soon as you tighten it they will twist and jump and like this one probably did , hurt their neck. He didn't look too bad though and will recover.

My self and friends search for 3 days but could not find anymore kittens. New signs read No trespassing No Hunting Trespassers will be shot Survivors will be shot AGAIN.. Lizzy vibrates the hole bed when she purrs and I have trouble sleeping when I'm not home without 30 kg or 66 lb of cat snuggled up to me.
Why the heck do they catch them so they don't see that they are left defenseless at the mercy of other predators such as lynx bears or worse a pack of wolves

I cannot legally trap and tag a bobcat south of hi-way 64 here in Wisconsin. I would have to trap about 20 miles north of me and that just isn't going to happen. I was very happy to catch and video this cat but I was happier to let it go. I caught a really nice (34" boarded out) male gray fox this year too along with four red males. The gray was just gorgeous.
Are you guys sure you aren't settin' traps just for Bobcats so you can make videos?

Get a decent catch pole. You almost killed that cat. And get the base of the pole just under his neck. They choke out easily
