@@JesseT86 he went for the onsight and ended up doing it second go. He also said that before trying BFOBB he had never been on any overhanging offwidths.

I'm underrating it, can anyone explain? I get how impressive the physical effort is but I know nothing about climbing and don't understand why she had to go upside down there.

For context, Ondra said about this route: "Belly Full of Bad Berries 5.13 on my second go today, one the biggest fights of my life."
As demonstrated by the wideboyz though, Ondra sort of muscled through it with iffy crack technique.
@@joestevenson5568 Mostly iffy foot technique. He is a solid crack climber but I don't think he has done many off-widths.

@@joestevenson5568 to me it seems that one major difference is that she was capable of resting hanging on her feet. Adam couldn’t do this and tried resting hanging on his arms. He is specifically commenting on the trouble this route was causing to his legs.
Is it at all sensible to compare two physically different climber‘s? If yes, I would love two see a direct side by side comparison of their ascends.
@@hartmutbraun6712 low body weight is a real advantage when it is time to hold by feet in a inconfortable and painful situation, the painful pressure is less.

The tension during the ascent... the silent that a massive scream broke... the detailed hand and leg work... insane core work... I had to pause the video to get my chalkbag. This is massive, this is huge! Big congratulations Mari! As Pete always says "Good effort!" but that was way more than that! This was insane. I need a nap.

I had to rewatch the power scream at least 5 times! Seeing the look on Mari's face when she clipped the chains made me as happy as I was when Tom and Pete sent century crack. So stoked for all of you! What an amazing trip!

That is absolutely insane. I did my first offwidth a few days ago and got completely shut down on a 5.7. I can't imagine how insanely challenging this is even when you do know proper technique. Mari, you're an absolute beast and an inspiration

My grandparents were in the circus, the feats they used to perform are, to me at least, beyond comprehension for normal people. There are videos in existence, black and white.

Seeing videos like this gets me so inspired to go climb. I'm quite a beginner still. Only climbed roughly ten times and I am still BEAT from climbing four days ago and this made me feel like I was never even sore. Im so ready to go climb tomorrow now. Those screams give me the damn goosebumps. I'm over here struggling to stay on an overhanging V2 for more than 30 seconds and this shit went on for at least ten minutes. That is just incredible.

I think Mari will downgrade it to 5.10, as you can climb it with open laces no problem.

🤯 such a fight ! Bat hangs (that training after the failure bat in Magnus gym really payed off) and endurance, blown away by Mari she is a beast and should be recognised more for her "good efforts", also on sighting this was epic too. Top quality video, music and editing too.

You can tunnel inside and it's a squeeze. Not massively intersting and has some loose stuff it doesn't look overly exciting...
