Beautiful, it’s wonderful to have your own personal portal back in time. My own car, I’ve made no concessions to modernity, steering, brakes, tires, it’s just like stepping back 55 years.
I swear I can smell my ol 69 in the hallways where I live even if the garage is on the ground floor and I live in the 3rd. When you open that door .. woa! People even noticed how my clothes smell the same.

I live in Chicago and in the summertime at six in the morning I would start here on the north side of the city of Chicago and drive it all the way down to the southside on Lakeshore Drive along Lake Michigan by the time I would come home my face would hurt because I would be smiling the whole time, it was a great drive.
Of all the vintage cars that are out there , it is nice to see that the parts availability for the bug is still there. This car has such a rich history around the entire planet. Simple basic transportation that is easy to maintain.
This is REALLY beautiful. There was quite a grand house near where I live, and they had one in their drive. Nice car in the drive of a nice house. Looked great together! That car looked special, because it had been re sprayed GOLD. But This one must have been gold from the start - because it is gold INSIDE as well! Even nicer!
Wow, what a gorgeous Beetle that is, and in such an amazing colour! Beautiful. And I can so totally relate to the sweet feeling of getting behind the wheel of your beloved classic!!! Only thing, I wish we also had nice smooth roads as you seem to be having over where you are.. ours are pothole ridden!
I remember those sounds well. Shifter side to side, etc. I bought a 62 in 1972 for 135.00 dollars that wasn't running. It had a valve keeper come off. I overhauled it with the book " How to keep your VW alive " and drove it for a decade. I still have the book.
That Volkswagen beetle brings me back a lot of memories, when I was born in 1957, Those Volkswagen beetle were the ones my father had those Volkswagen beetle since 1952 to 1966
Hearing that engine sound just gives you the feeling of comfort and security knowing the old bugger will take you anywhere you need to be without fuss.
My former brother in law had one back in the 70s and I borrowed it for a weekend. It was fun to drive. My dad had a 57 with the oval rear window. He pulled the engine in the garage and rebuilt it, used it for a few months then sold it.
