By the way, I used the "wrap the thread around multiple times" trick, and it worked well for me too, freeing up my left-hand finger to more easily manipulate the cover back into place.

great tutorial ! beware the black lever to the left which acts as a guide and locks the door. you may be stuck at the bottom: if it is so 'does not work. you have to place it towards you and then enter the door. fate attenzione alla levetta nera a sinistra che fa da guida e blocca lo sportellino. è possibile che sia incastrato in fondo : se è cosi' non fa funzionare . dovete posizionarlo verso di voi e poi inserire lo sportellino. nel mio caso si era incastrata in fondo e la cosa mi ha fatto bestemmiare per 3 giorni prima di capire qual fosse il problema.

As you can see from my pics i was able to tightly wrap the tread around the hinge a few times which kept the tension on the spring and kept my left hand free. I was able to get the door installed in less than 15 seconds and then just cut the tread out very gingerly with surgical scissors. Thanks, I couldn't have done it without your video and I just hope my modification makes it that much easier for the next person. I have a similar problem,,the spring isn't my issue, it's that it won't stay closed, just springs back to being open all ofnthe time. Any ideas?
