Malo Fiji, im Samoan but I mix with Tongans, actually Tongans and Samoans like it strong, dark, thick mix, but it's all Love in the circle, especially the jam session, MANUIA!!....SOIFUA!! 🔥🔥🔥
Ehk “Tongans like it light” he aint lying. I had a fijian brew once and daaaaaaang felt like I had the whole tanoa in that bowl.
Great video guys. Cheers!
That's not true Tonga's like there kava strong..
I'm sure I read that Fijians drink weak kava, so they can keep drinking it all day. This is so confusing. I want actual surveys done now.
Tongan kava has different properties. It's lighter in taste, but not effect. It's also more heady, Fijan is usually more balanced or relaxing . (Think Indica vs sativa with cannabis)
😂😂😂 .. as a Tongan, you guys crack me up! Cheers with love and if any of you drop by Salt Lake City, tag me up and I’ll mixed a bowl up for more good laughs! Ofa atu toko..
🇹🇴🇫🇯💓💯🤜🤛
Went to Fiji for the first time in 87’ with my wife and kids. Had my first experience trying kava on that trip and I can say it wasn’t very pleasant the first time. I love the way Fijians can sit around the kava bowl and sing beautiful music and laugh like there’s no stress or worries in the world. We have since went back and visited your beautiful country over 15 times since 87’. So many fond memories for our kids growing up and making life long friends. BULA, TAKI. 😊
I guess it's your second home then👍🏝🌈
How is your kava experience since then
🤣 How many bowls did you have?! I’m assuming you 🤢🤮 LOL!
ni sa bula vinaka!
What do you mean "it wasn't pleasant"? Details, please!
Bula! I was fortunate enough as an American to participate in a kava celebration just outside of Nadi near the sleeping giant. It was in 1993. I was 15 years old.
That sounds incredible!
Man That was a long time ago.....fijis a lot more different now
What is the sleeping giant??
@@z.s.n. He's referring to a popular tourist area in Fiji known as the Garden of the Sleeping Giant that's near the nadi area
Me and my fijian bro got pulled over from the cops after drinking a couplee bowls of kava, the bro was driving wasted as, got breath tested and passed, we were out of there cracking up, then it dawned on me kava is Alchohol free, not that I'm encouraging you lol Chur
Well it's not fermented, so you're good 😂😂😂
I drank kava at a kava bar and got self tested and ha 0.008 alcohol lol
To anyone reading this, you’ll still get arrested for drinking kava and driving if you’re intoxicated. You might not get a DUI, but you’ll get a DWI same as someone driving high on weed or pain killers. If you can’t pass a roadside test, you’ll get arrested.
Also, it’s just a bad idea to drive intoxicated in the first place.
Very soon there will be a kavameter😂😂😂😂
I’m in south Florida and Kava is becoming pretty popular down here. I love Kava bars so much 🥰
Polys are awesome.... even the tradition is amazing.
Toko, uso, tagane
In Tonga it is Toko, in Samoa it is Uso, in Fiji it is Taci.... ✌😃
Fijians are Melanesian and not Polys Taciqu
Um I've never looked up anything kava or Polynesian cultural related in my life. But last night me and the fam were drinking and talking about kava... And today this shows up in my recommendations
Im training someone at work thats Fijian, he said he'll bring me kava. His mom is full native Fijian and his dad is Indian, super friendly and good hearted guy. Seems like a fun culture, beatiful place and people.
Almond milk works amazziingg, Vanilla almond milk takes the bitterness away and makes Kava quite a treat without needing any chasers or snacks beside fresh fruit 😍
@Micah Samuels that sounds utterly disgusting. You would need an entire 2L bottle of it to take away the flavour at the very least.
@Micah Samuels that's the worst thing I've ever heard, that's some 4chan shit right there
@@professorracc.9780 😄
Hahaha cool, wish I was there. Dude in the red is like let's drink already.
Reverence to elders like this is sorely missed from modernised societies.
Melanesian Fijians are cool people fr 💯💪
I grew up around Alot Of Fijian families man I just love the Vibe man I remember my First Kava.
My mum is Fiji and dad Punjabi and I love to embrace both my family traditions don’t be shy this is the homeland
Awesome!!!
I think it taste like cinnamon flavored tree bark lol. I do love to drink this for anxiety, it totally mellows me out
Uhhh no.
Cinnamon flavored dirt bwhahahahaha
It does
That's what it's for, to help you "settle down" and unwind.
Used to start off with 75g then now mixing 250g per mix. Love the affects it gives with the boys to spin some yarns. Half kilos to a kilo a night until morning then work. Fuzzy to be working while still being on kava. Miss those nights.
That seems like a rich person would do...
where do you buy it from? got a good website?
@@ballinblaza my question too! Would be cool to make from scratch one day as well.
I have Fijian family and I'm ashamed to say I've never been to Fiji, and never partaken in a Kava ceremony with them. This video has reminded me how much I want to do both. Vinaka!
U do it broisk u only live once I think it's just so interesting to learn about other cultures and it's amazing I wish I could go to.
just make it yourself bro you can buy it online
This video popped into my UA-cam recommendations for some unexplained reason...not complaining though - I like this interesting glimpse into Fijian culture. (Cheers all the way from Malaysia, fellas.)
Nice people with some great vibes and a good time, what's better then being with friends enjoying some kava
absolute love to all you islanders out in the pacific, big respect to you and your traditions
We like pizza too

i haven’t ever had a proper kava ceremony, because i definitely don’t want to disrespect islander culture, but i use kava tincture mixed with juice after i get home from work instead of alcohol, and with my friends :)
Great video! There's a lot of videos about making kava, but this is the only one I ran into that includes the cultural stuff. Very interesting!
Always such a great sense of humour !!!
Mahalo from Cali , I’m half samoan 🤙🏾
Mahalo from Hawaiʻi!!
Good Job Guys! Excellent demonstration ✌
Thank you guys! I am using Kava to help with anxiety as well as to help me cut back on caffeine. Great video!
Never thought I'd see you here
Does it help? Am looking for help with anxiety.
@@patriciam4123 It sure does, any islander would tell you how it helps relax the mind and calms the stress after a long day or rough week.
@@patriciam4123 Did you try it? I wouldn’t drink as much as they did. 🤣 How was it?
I love drinking with my Fijian Brothers. Malo Boso
Y’all are so chill lol. Thanks for the vid
I can honestly say I'm one of the few people that I've met in my lifetime and I attend A Kava bar daily that truly loves and enjoys the taste and flavor of kava

thank you just tried kava for the first time today and am looking forward to brewing up my own batch. this stuff is amazing.
I absolutely love Kava! Im from Savaii Island in Samoa. I wish my Fijian buddies were here to drink with me. My local boyz here can only drink about 4 to 5 bags max.
Jesus Christ !! Like sandwich bags? Or duffle bags?? 🤣 🤣
We do have a tendency to drink about 10-30 bags to a full kilo depending on our numbers 😂😂😂
Educational. Thanks for this.
Very informative video
Really enjoyed watching! Hopefully use can put more content up, i had a smile and a half on me, youve got yourself a new sub

Im Tongan, but I've mixed with my uncles once and I gotta say kava makes you relaxed in a type of way lol.🤣🤣
Drinking Kava for the first time in my life while watching this. What a great feeling! Wish I was there, but I'm grateful to have Kava and see you guys having a good time. Bula!

Loved it guys!! BULLA 😍
They are so cute
These guys are Awesome
Very informative!
great video, thank you!
great vibes
Hella cool to see how fiji does kava
I'm so glad I found your video. My friend brought me a bag of the kava in your video from his homeland Tahiti and I literally had no idea what to do with it. He tried to explain it to me but we were rushing around and I didn't get a good explanation. I've been afraid to try it so I've added a teaspoon to my almond milk in hopes of helping my pain and anxiety. I would love to participate in a Kava Ceremony though. Thank you for the video.
Hi i know it has been a while since you posted your comment but since nobody said anything i will
Just in case you didn’t know, you don’t want to consume the powder/plant material itself. It’s like coffee or tea where you don’t want the whole plant but just what is dissolved.
That was a cool guide
Awesome delivery guys, am making some as I am watching this, to learn from the experts! Bula!
Thanks! Love it
that was beautiful
Think us Samoans need to drink this more than alcohol to calm the anger issues lol jks bula my taganes 👏🏽👏🏽
This brings me back to going to fiji and having kava for the first time
omg love this video!!!!!!!!!
I’m hawaiian. Love the content. 🤙🏽
Great video! I am always trying to be an ambassador of kava to the USA
Great video, brothers! ❤🐨✌
Thank you guys. I was wondering if I was making it right. I get a nice dark color mix. I have been using kava for about 2 years. Well I used it for about 6 months straight then stopped because I couldnt find the time to make it. But I'm back to drinking it and I love kava. I especially love mixing it with kratom. Best combo ever.
Thank you so much!
"Tongans like it light so they could go all night ;)"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice one Rok & Cav
I love this video 😘👍
Nicee I love it Vanuatu Ali'i kava the best I'm fijian/Black originally from Chinatown Hawaii I definitely would love to see more from you guys! BULA!!
😂 LOVED THIS VIDEO FROM BEGINNING TO END
I love my Fijian traditional drinks...
Super cool 👍🏾
Great video. I’m trying Kava for the first time while watching this video and I can say it works well. I think it can be compared to Xanax
i love all of your energies!! ~ hoping to open a sober bar in my city and use Kava 🙏🏻 really appreciate the traditional knowledge, as well (i’m comment 333 hehe✨) much love
awesome 😎
this is an really good learning experience for me, cause, I have never been oversea at all
