I love the song I'm so glad I was saved on January 9th of this year the lord has been so good to me I can't thank him enough for what he has done I may have sinned but the bible says we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God I'm so glad when the lord looks down on me he's not looking at the sin I've done he just sees if the blood is there for there is a song that says when he sees me he sees the blood of the lamb he sees me as Worthy and not as I am I thank him so much

      P. S.-With attitudes that some Southern Gospel music vocal and band members have, is it any wonder that at least some groups have such a high turnover rate, when it comes down to the membership of some groups? The Kingsmen, for example, have had one of the highest numbers of past and present members that I've ever seen! I love the Kingsmen, but I cannot believe how many people they've had in their group over the years. What's going on here??? Triumphant Quartet, on the other hand, has only had 1 line-up change since their inception, and that was when Jeff Stice left back a few years ago. The Collingsworth family? Yet another fine example of group stability. They live, by all accounts and appearances, good, Godly lives. I've seen, however, so many groups that look like, and act like, the world, that it's simply NOT to be believed!! Give me Triumphant Quartet and the Collingsworth family any day!

Arthur Rice...what a Lead Singer! He was with The Kingsmen Quartet from 1984-1989. Tell ya what, though:I have no idea how he put up with Jim Hamill pickin' on him...night after night after night after night! I'm pretty sure that it was all in good fun, though. Jim Hamill was a Laff & A Half, though, so...I guess it is what it is...or was...or whatever. The Kingsmen Quartet sure had a load of fun up on-stage....Bless their hearts!
Johnny Parrack was with The Kingsmen Quartet from 1971-Early 1977. After that, they picked up this little feller...by the name of Ernie Phillips. He was 5 Foot, 2 Inches tall. Weight? About 102 Pounds. They had to take a Boy's size Buster Brown Suit, and cut it down, just as far as it could be cut down, just to have a suit small enough to wear! (Well... according to Jim Hamill, who was quite a storyteller, and a supreme Jokester)!
Good Ole Jim Hamill! He passed away in 2007, but his memory lives on, still!!!

    • @CharlotteAhlemann-gu5nm
      @CharlotteAhlemann-gu5nm Місяць тому

There was another co-writer. Tony Richardson wrote the opening part. There is a word change. The second line should be: EV'RY WORK OF MAN, SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN EVER SAVED ONE SOUL FROM HELL. The change from "ever" to "bever: is extremely offensive to the Cherokee. Tony Richardson's father was Chief of the North Carolina Cherokee.

We have never seen all through History
That a man could save himself
Every work of man since the world began
Never kept one soul from hell
Gut God looked down in grace and love
    And met our greatest need
By his own hand and his perfect plan
We are free, yes free indeed
What we needed was a savior pure and sinless
dying for the wrong we've done
What we needed was a Holy Sacrifice
    God's only begotten Son
When the World all around was bound for Hell
    All earthly hope was lost
What we needed was a grace and mercy
God provided on a rugged cross
Many men have tried to be satisfied
By the things this world affords
They have placed their faith in another way
    And rejected Christ our Lord
But the father longs to reveal to Him
    What they needed all along
It is there to claim in Jesus' name
at the Cross it's standing strong
What we needed was a savior pure and sinless
