One day I heard a preacher preach He said this world we're gonna leave And when we die we'll either go To heav'n above or hell below I bowed my head confessed my sin Invited Jesus to come in The savior turned me from the flames And with a word he locked the gates He locked the gates of hell behind me And then he threw the keys away He locked the gates, o give him glory There'll never come a day I'll have to enter such a place For the day that I got saved He locked the gates Now I live a life so free Knowing Jesus lives in me And when I fail I plead the blood Alive and well it's still enough Then when the devil comes my way And says in hell for sin I'll pay I point him to a rugged hill And say thanks to Jesus I never will He locked the gates of hell behind me And then he threw the keys away He locked the gates, o give him glory There'll never come a day I'll have to enter such a place For the day that I got saved He locked the gates
One of the best blends of quartet music ever. Tenor, lead and bass are fantastic and the baritone helps that rich sound, And let's not forget the message - WOW - good all around.
I really enjoy this song so very much. I have just started singing it. The words are so true. Thank God that HE locked the gates behind me and saved me!
Incredible group, amazing how they are not famous nationally. Some of the old groups like the Oaks and Statlers did gospel as well but became famous through country music. Maybe they should dip their toe in that.
Watched this videos a couple of times and more I watch more I like. The instrumental is just amazing. The drummer, bass and piano player do a job like nobody else do. The singers are the best.
I never really paid attention to the ending until I read this comment. Thank u for pointing that out. Arthur rice is probably one of the top 3 lead singers out there today
Quick question, are you promoting "once saved always saved?". Not looking for a debate, for I will love the group just as much either way. I'm happy with a yes or no.
All I know is that Arthur Rice is Baptist. Baptist believe that once you are saved you cannot lose your salvation. I don't think the group is promoting one way or another.
I'm going to add my two cents worth here there certain core issues that I believe everybody has to accept, that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God and he was died and rose again and we have to repent and be baptized to be saved. Everyone has to believe in these core issues. this one saved always saved is one of those issues that I don't believe is a core issue, whether you believe once saved always saved or you don't believe once saved always saved is a moot point. the point is do you believe in Jesus Christ and if you accept him as your savior and do you have a close personal relationship with him. That's really all that matters. Now just for fun and for the sake of the question I don't believe in once saved always saved just because I believe you always have free will to choose to follow God or not I believe in the verse that once you belong to God no one else can take you out of God's hands but I believe you always have free will to choose.
9 years and 365 days later...the Blood is still enough!
One day I heard a preacher preach
He said this world we're gonna leave
And when we die we'll either go
To heav'n above or hell below
I bowed my head confessed my sin
Invited Jesus to come in
The savior turned me from the flames
And with a word he locked the gates
He locked the gates of hell behind me
And then he threw the keys away
He locked the gates, o give him glory
There'll never come a day
I'll have to enter such a place
For the day that I got saved
He locked the gates
Now I live a life so free
Knowing Jesus lives in me
And when I fail I plead the blood
Alive and well it's still enough
Then when the devil comes my way
And says in hell for sin I'll pay
I point him to a rugged hill
And say thanks to Jesus I never will
He locked the gates of hell behind me
And then he threw the keys away
He locked the gates, o give him glory
There'll never come a day
I'll have to enter such a place
For the day that I got saved
He locked the gates

guitaristssweetheart Oh alright. Thank you!
God's Word makes it clear. However, we can only go by the Fruit.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28
