He was proud. One, he was hunting men with connections to JFK assassination, and two... Someone tried to kill his friend, and he was gonna do what he could to make them pay and give his friend the revenge he deserved.

This scene was so well-directed; the music, the cinematography, the dialogue and the acting were all pitch-perfect. I know it's kinda missing the point to praise a game for its cutscenes, but this looked like it came straight out of a Hollywood movie.
It's not missing the point honestly. I play games for storylines. Be it far cry 3, half life series, especially bioshock using science and real life physics to make the game more realistic. When I was in college, in one subject of virtual reality, there were 4 types, immersive, semi immersive, non immersive and one more I don't remember right now, but point of me saying this is, the execution of this whole cutscene was to immerse people into the real life incidents of black, Italian, and people from other races suffering because many people were racists in that time period, they were showing what's real, even if the graphics were not as amazing as crysis, what immersed people into not skipping the cutscenes is the execution of the storyline. The background music, the emotions on the characters faces, the depth of voice of each scene. It's all realistic inspite of not being realistic. So in terms of virtual reality, this shit did a damn good job according to me

I think he had an inkling of what Sal could do to him based on Burke and well, racism but I believe he ultimately chose to approach Sal in good faith due to him having all of the money he owed Sal plus some extra. I believe he thought that Sal would be more likely to backstab him if he didn’t have all of the money. But sadly the money wasn’t Sal’s main interest in the heist, and Sammy, Lincoln and Ellis would be possible stumbling blocks on the way to his goal, so he decided to wipe them all out after getting his primary objective taken care of. Like Donovan said, Sal had always planned to double cross them all.
The story of this game was incredible, also props to portraying the racism of the times accurately, sure it's not nice to hear but it's true to the times and makes the story even more enjoyable because it's so believable.

Mafia 3's prologue is one of the strongest 30 minutes or so I have ever seen in a video game. This is up tehre with The Last of Us no doubt. If only the game could have maintained this level of raw awesomeness throughout the entire narrative. Unfortunately, the reptetive mission design absolutely kills this game. But man, this intro was fucking STELLAR. I remember seeing this for the first time and feeling something I had not felt while playing a video game in a long time
If you can't get immersed enough in the prologue to be immersed in breaking down the mafia piece by piece then you missed out. Ghost Recon Wildlands is another game that's repetitive in said fashion and every moment is fun.
ItzSilentStorm the story was amazing and all the cutscenes where strait phenomenal its a shame that it was kinda tedious at times but it’s always worth it when you beat the mini bosses. I agree with you tho, this is also one of my top story games up with the last of us and uncharted 4.

They should've cut out the tedious chores in Mafia III and just give us more story: more cutscenes, more story-centered missions. Because damn it, game's far from perfect, but the story made it worth playing from start to finish. This has got to be one of my favorite cinematics in the entire game.
I wish Sammy had survived so we could see his inner badass emerge...and what he'd fucking do to Sal and Giorgi after they killed his son and burnt his home down...he's this wise older man but I imagine he was a killer aswell. Him and Linc together could have gone after the Marcanos and wasted every one of them. Keep Donovan as the intel guy...but that father-son relationship should have been developed
Later when sal finds out Lincoln is alive he yells at gorgi " YOU SHOT HIM ONCE"' I feel like sal has had some experience with 1 bullet not being enough so that's why he uses more

What made this betrayal scene hit so hard was seeing how close they all were before. Laughing, drinking, looking out for each other. Giorgi was their friend. Have to wonder if he'd known all along he would screw them, or if Sal had to twist his arm to do it at the end.

Little thing about GTA SA; originally, it was going to have Turf Wars in not only Los Santos, but also San Fierro and Las Venturas as well. You also would’ve been able to fight the other gangs (The Aztecas, The Italian Mafia, The Triads, etc) for these territories as well, as they even had their own color-coordinated territories in their respective city. For whatever reason, they didn’t keep those in, though, I mean for the Aztecas and Triads, it would make sense because they’re like allied with you, but they could’ve at least kept the other gang turfs in, so we wouldn’t have had to wait So Long for Gang warfare to turn back on!
AlastorDarkAngel what I did is I killed all the guys at the bottom of the list then went up to the more important guys like tommy, Olivia. And Lou if thats how you spell it. So basically, I did exactly what linc said he would do. I toke them out from the bottom to the top. And I killed marconno by throwing a frag gernade at him cause I dont wanna be normal.
Mafia 3 is perfect for fans of the GodFather the game 1 and 2, Scarface the world is yours and GTA Vice City. And also for Assassin's Creed fans ( Systematic Killing and Story ). In mafia 1 you are a member of the Mob and nothing more. Mafia 2 is the Same thing. I want to grow up / evolve inside of the Mob, like The GodFather the game ( 2006 ) Or build my own criminal empire, like Scarface the world is yours and GTA Vice City. That's why mafia 3 is a good game. The best way to take down an empire, to make sure it stays down. Is build another empire right on top. 8.5/10 And Jonh Donovan is the best secondary character of 2016.

That was very surprising to me, even if I was quite naive to think that an open world game could begin with the protagonist having 2 million in his pocket. But when Sammy looked suspicious, when Marcano brought his helper in and when Marcano had eye contact with his son, it was clear to me what was about to happen. Hangar 13 has done a first class job of telling the player with such details that something is wrong here. The story, characters and staging, including the music, are a masterpiece. It's a shame that the variety in gameplay isn't that convincing.
I'm telling everyone in the comment section right now, I got this game today, hands down one of the best stories ever...and gameplay and car mechanics are amazing as well.
The only thing I don't like is that the story slows down after the beggining :( I think it could of done without having to take over districts or maybe even being linear...? Just a bit more like 2
This game ... OMG I love this game! Played it for about 50 hours and after completing everything (including the DLCs) I got depressed and want to start the game from scratch for another playthrough! People complain it's grindy ... but with the outstanding combat system, I don't mind having a whole bunch of side missions to do. In fact I welcome them! 10/10

What made this betrayal scene hit so hard was seeing how close they all were before. Laughing, drinking, looking out for each other. Giorgi was their friend. Have to wonder if he'd known all along he would screw them, or if Sal had to twist his arm to do it at the end.

That's actually what people from New Orleans sound like. When I was younger, I couldn't pronounce my 'R's correctly. Growing up in North Louisiana, the kids my age thought I was from New York, and the older folks thought I was from New Orleans.

The second I saw that look, and camera shot.I knew it was a betrayal, it gave me a spine chill and my stomach dropped. Awesome story.
This entire cutscene made me feel gutted and completely utterly betrayed even though this game was iffy this scene made me push until I could kill the bastards that scene saved my game from being deleted
I always wanted to play the full game. Little did I know there would be a betrayal scene that would not make me delete the game because I was going to delete the game because of the combat. Well not anymore I wanna kill them.

Little thing about GTA SA; originally, it was going to have Turf Wars in not only Los Santos, but also San Fierro and Las Venturas as well. You also would’ve been able to fight the other gangs (The Aztecas, The Italian Mafia, The Triads, etc) for these territories as well, as they even had their own color-coordinated territories in their respective city. For whatever reason, they didn’t keep those in, though, I mean for the Aztecas and Triads, it would make sense because they’re like allied with you, but they could’ve at least kept the other gang turfs in, so we wouldn’t have had to wait So Long for Gang warfare to turn back on!

Mafia 3 is perfect for fans of the GodFather the game 1 and 2, Scarface the world is yours and GTA Vice City. And also for Assassin's Creed fans ( Systematic Killing and Story ). In mafia 1 you are a member of the Mob and nothing more. Mafia 2 is the Same thing. I want to grow up / evolve inside of the Mob, like The GodFather the game ( 2006 ) Or build my own criminal empire, like Scarface the world is yours and GTA Vice City. That's why mafia 3 is a good game. The best way to take down an empire, to make sure it stays down. Is build another empire right on top. 8.5/10 And Jonh Donovan is the best secondary character of 2016.

This game and all the mafia games has some of the best stories in gaming history
That was very surprising to me, even if I was quite naive to think that an open world game could begin with the protagonist having 2 million in his pocket.
But when Sammy looked suspicious, when Marcano brought his helper in and when Marcano had eye contact with his son, it was clear to me what was about to happen.
Hangar 13 has done a first class job of telling the player with such details that something is wrong here. The story, characters and staging, including the music, are a masterpiece. It's a shame that the variety in gameplay isn't that convincing.

This game ... OMG I love this game! Played it for about 50 hours and after completing everything (including the DLCs) I got depressed and want to start the game from scratch for another playthrough! People complain it's grindy ... but with the outstanding combat system, I don't mind having a whole bunch of side missions to do. In fact I welcome them! 10/10
