Thank you Dakic. Still looking for a short bit of music to go under the section News, Weather and Event headings. It's a journey. :-) Thanks for the encouragement.
Thank you Kristina. There is a lot of good work around SCTLD and we are particularly hopeful for the bacterial probiotic being researched by the Smithsonian. Unfortunately, it does look like it will be around for a while longer, however. Get in the water while the stony corals are still there! :-)
Thanks again N Lay. We're glad you enjoy the content. This new format is quite fun for us as well, since it is a great reason to get more knowledgeable about the larger diving community here. Thank you for subscribing!
Yes, it is. We went snorkeling this morning and saw a few infected corals. It is currently a very small percentage of the overall reef, but it does appears to be increasing. Reef Renewal is doing some great things around propagating corals and strengthening resistance. We'll highlight that in an upcoming story.
Sadly, CTLD spreading is a certainty. It will be interesting to see if that leads to a larger number of closings given a significant portion of visitors come specifically for the diving. The economics behind closures will almost certainly enter the debate at some point similar to the town meeting in Jaws. Stay tuned...
One Episode at a time... Improving 💪

Great video! Excited to get back and dive!
Thank you Bobby. C'mon in...the water's fine! :-)
Love this video update so much - but so sad about the stony coral loss disease.

Very sad to hear about the spread of SCTLD

We usually dive from Den Laman every other December. Concerned that SCTLD will have closed even more sites by this winter.
