- May was too kind to us with eight more first time captures including a couple of Cuban aglajas, an umbrella corallimorph, a post larval queen triggerfish, two spot cardinalfish, Atlantic giant cockle and a colorful moon snail.
We were also able to capture a number of unique behaviors like a flounder/box crab hunting team, a club-tipped anemone catching a bloodworm and a crawling murex. Of course there were a number of uncommon animals we don’t usually see on the reef as well, such as a music volute, Atlantic thorny oyster, jackknife fish, spiny brittle star and a web burrfish.

UNCOMMON SEA LIFE AND FIRST TIME CAPTURE IDENTIFICATION
We primarily use two sources to validate sea life we don’t recognize. The first is Florent's Guide To TheTropical Reefs which can be found at reefguide.org. Its free and has lots of pictures, but is not comprehensive. The second is “The Reef Set: Reef Fish, Reef Creature and Reef Coral (3 Volumes)”. The box set can be found on Amazon; however with all our travels, we also purchased the eBooks (fishid.com/stor...) so we don’t have to carry an extra five pounds of paper in our luggage. :-) We also reference other sources from time to time as well.
Here are some links to more information/images about animals from this video.

Awesome! Thanks.
YES!!!! Saving this to watch with wifey tonight during dinner!!! :) - I already know this will be awesome.
Hope you like it! :-)
@@TropicLensjust watched!! Fricking awesome. See y'all soon.
Great seeing your content.. what a life :) aspirational!
Thank you so much Jennifer! We're glad you enjoy the videos. Indeed, we have been (mostly) blessed/lucky. :-)
Really awesome video and of high quality! Thank you... Smiley face 😀
Thank you Dakic!
Nice video, David! The moon snail was very cool. Thanks for the info on the salp, I've always wondered what that was darting through my dive light, lol
Thanks Chris. Sorry for the delay. We moved, got our building permit (finally) and have been meeting with the architect to finalize plans to begin construction. Indeed, the moon snail was an awesome find and salps are great as well, but so hard to capture sometimes!
@TropicLens That's exciting news to get the house process moving along! We will be back August 17th-24th, although from reading your other comments, looks like we will miss you this trip. Have a great trip back to visit family!
Love the highlight videos! We're headed back to Bonaire here in a couple weeks and would love to dive with you guys if you're on island! Would sometime during July 14-20 work for you? There's the cleanup day that I think we're signed up for as well. Just going to be hot!
That's a very tempting Ben, but we are actually leaving to visit family in the US for a month from mid-July to mid August. (Sadly, that means no new videos for some time as well.) We haven't been home since January, so it will be a welcome trip. Unfortunately, it seems anytime we go, we miss opportunities like this. Not sure how often you get to Bonaire, but ping us the next time and hopefully we can get meet up.
@@TropicLensWill do. We were there last December right before Christmas, I think while you guys were stateside as well. One of these trips we'll manage to meet up for sure! We sure enjoy watching your videos and it seems to keep drawing us either back to Bonaire or at least to jump back in the water.
