I have the same IR Strobe. Instead of reversing the battery I slipped a small piece of plastic trip at the +contact with a small rip cord which allows for immediate deployment.
thin piece of plastic in the bottom fixes the ND issue with white light, or a square of cardboard, electrical tape over the hot end of the flashlight also work, plenty of work around so you can keep the light

Mixing solid earth toned colors, or earth toned colors with a set camo pattern is fine. Where things get retarded is if an individual mixes different patterns. The mishmash will tend to stand out more to the human eye.

My SF 6PX defender works well in my CR. The half turn lockout isn't annoyingly obtrusive in terms of deployment.
