Euro Nymph for Steelhead

When I couldn't get any bites on my floating or sinking line on 7wt rods, I pulled out my euro nymph rod and hooked up with this nice Chromer.
The lightweight euro nymph line allowed me to get the fly deep with minimal drag. The light rod and reel allowed me to elevate my ESN line above the fast current- What I wasn't able to do with my other rods.
Is this a good way to fish for Steelhead? It was for me on that day.
