I know the M40i has the highly-desirable B58 engine, but the B48 in this 30i core model is absolutely and totally fine for most people. 0-60 in 6.2 seconds is not too shabby if you ask me. Plus you get a bit better fuel economy and a bit more balanced ride to go along. I think the B48 engine should get more love!!!
I agree. Solid option for most people. I'll be buying the M40i when the time comes since I like that power. The true M version is a bit overkill. I like that sweet spot. But these 4 bangers aren't bad at all
Really good review. I think the 2 liter 4 cylinder may be topping my list for my wife’s next SUV. I’m old and was a young man when I discovered the incredibly smooth BMW engines. Owned a 1971 Bavaria and a 1977 320i, both with very nice engines. I’ve not owned a BMW since 1986. I prefer to avoid hybrid and mild hybrid as long as possible. This engine is that. The choices are getting thin.
It's a good option to go with! I just bought an X5 plug in and love it! Over 400 miles combined and more power than a standard one! Just depends on what you want!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I just went with the latest 30i LCI model. Not much fan of idrive8 systems, so I see no point in waiting. I like a covered speedometer. Gives you more of an engagement feeling.
So, I have the X3 M40i. It’s great… however… I live in Colorado. So it’s only practical in the warmer months. I have the 21 inch wheels as well, which is hard to find snow tires for! It’s nearly impossible, so I’m downgrading to the X3 xdrive. It’s more practical for driving in snow and with the smaller tires, you won’t have a problem finding snow tires for it.
That’s interesting to hear! I’ve never had to buy snow tires but yeah 21's aren't too common. Check out fitment industries. They might be able to help you track a set down!
To me this a “quick” SUV. It’s subjective but when you step on the gas it’s feels pretty fast. Obviously it’s not a sports car and weighs about 4,000lbs. My concern with the M40i is that it will drive too stiff and have extra firm suspension which will result in a jittery ride on less than perfect roads. I’m bias because I just got the X Drive 30i. It’s has 20” wheels and is quick with a smooth ride. The M40i has 21” wheels with a firmer suspension. Anyway it’s all subjective. Mine is loaded with the M Sport package. It’s MSRP was about $60k. The M40i does have a more powerful engine and is over $70k. They are all great vehicles. Beautiful and not too expensive for what you are getting. Great review!
That’s where I bought my X3 xDrive 30i MSport. Still haven’t decided how to attach my front license plate, without drilling holes in the bumper. Any ideas/options available?
Ordered one in blue same trim levels except black 20" m wheels. Motor is very strong and hp is underrated! Great video the of the best showing all the features of this car.
I have the same exact spec 787 wheels alpine white on cognac. I spec full size spare and other stuff sticker was 55k which is not bad for the overall package! 8 months now and I love mine
I have the 2023 in BK grey with the red and it's more than plenty. Yes the 40 is the more fun engine but the 30 isn't to shabby either. I did 115 like nothing the engine is built to pull and push no matter the power. I love it, it's stiff even for a 30i so I can only imagine the 40 and up lol. NY with a speed camera every 2000 feet isn't for fast cars these days lol.
Depends on what you like in your car. I like the 40i the most. That's the sweet spot for my budget and desires. I like the extra power but don't need the M. So just depends on what you want. The normal X3 is a fine car if you're not looking for a crazy amount of power
@Bros FOURR Speed When I compare them to an Audi Q5, they just don't do anything for me... but obviously it's a very subjective thing. Good luck with it.
This is the best audio we have had, not sure what you mean. We have the mic close to our mouth right on the camera. Using $100 mics, so it’s good audio.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I will say, the volume difference between POV and the other segments is jarring, but otherwise I think the audio is not bad in the least.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Makes sense. Two different microphones. Anyway I appreciate your videos, really like the format and how concise they are. Wife's thinking about an X3 but I might have watched this anyway. :D

My wife's G20 330i has the B48, and it is impressive. Smooth, strong at all RPMs, and fuel efficient.

Oh nice! One of the best 4 cylinders to be honest
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I had a 2020 x3m and it was ridiculous to drive. A lot of fun. Too impractical for me. Just sold it and have an m40i on order

This is my most favorite BMW Mid-size SUV.
Brilliant job with your content as always bro.
Thanks! Yeah I like these a ton!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Welcome bro.
Awesome spec, I recently picked up a 2022 x3 m40i I’m in love with it. Perfect daily driver
Oh nice! Awesome SUV and I'm planning on buying one next year!
I'm looking to get this. Is it a smooth drive? 😊

Nice! It’s going to be very interesting to see the redesigned X3. I’m guessing kind of a larger X1, which wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Yeah really. This is so nice tho, don't see anything they need to change lol

In Europe, they get the xDrive30i X3, but we don’t have it here in the UK.
Oh cool

If you live in NC you don’t need one. But I’m sure there is a tow hook adaptor you could use. That would be the best bet.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I bought my X3 at Hendrick’s of South Austin TX
@@robingeorgetowntx Ohh, I thought you meant this dealer.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed sorry, no.
Tow hook adapter. Thanks. I might not have considered such.
Loved I wanna get one😅

Well at least I don't have to go to Google directions anymore great vehicle
Really nice SUV for sure!
talked myself into getting an M40i instead of NX. Hendrick only has white/gray models. It's like nobody in Charlotte likes colors
I know right! I want to see more bold colors!
A great daily
Oh yeah! Very nice size and good price
No offense, you remind me of the hero of ‘Ambulance’. Handsome!
Lol, I don’t know what that is but thank you!
I’m trying to build it but it doesn’t show carbon fiber mirror cap option.
That could be a dealer option. But it should pop up in accessories or something. Might depend on zip code too
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I see, thanks!
When is the redesigned X3 due out? Guessing 2025 since the X5 is coming in 2024.
Probably a bit. This is the facelift at least
Pretty nice choice for a daily driver! 😎
It would make for a great daily for sure!
Excelente. Gracias!
Thanks!
i though model 2023 will have same interior with 2023 3 series
Usually the SUVs and sedans have different styles!
Will probably have it for the 2024 redesign
still no hud?
Might be an option. Not too sure tho
Revving up a cold engine?
Nope! I do the rev clip after the cars been warmed up and then put it after that start up. Beauty of editing!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed 👍
Doesn't look like much has changed from the 2022, I bought x3 xdrive 30i in Brooklyn grey, I only wished I had adaptive cruise control

Yeah, that's an option.
👍
Thanks for checking out the video!
Air dynamics for the engine? This is where i stopped watching
I mention cooling for the engine and aerodynamics for the car itself. What’s wrong with that?
The design is about as interesting as the box they shipped it in.
Lol, what’s the box look like? 😆🤣
@@BrosFOURRSpeed A typical box... squared off and boring.

Yeah just get what you like. Q5 is another good choice. Not as sporty as these in the way they drive tho
Too much plastic in the interior and still that small central screen. Come on, it's 2023 BMW! Even a cheap Chinese SUV has a better interior.
The 2023 has this new screen tho. It's pretty big.
