    For those wondering why the run by Forsett wasn't reversed, this was just after the rule that all TDs became automatically reviewed was implemented, and when they created the rule they added a piece that if you tried to challenge a play that was eligible to be automatically reviewed it was an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and the play immediately became ineligible to be reviewed. If he hadn't throw the challenge flag it would've been automatically reviewed and the call would've been changed, but because he did they play couldn't be challenged. The rule was changed that offseason to avoid situations like this

All they had to do was win against Indianapolis in Week 17, and they’d be the Number 1 Seed. But they choked, and lost to New England in the Divisional Round 41-28. That’s life. Good luck Houston. The Lions are known to get screwed by bad calls and officiating on Thanksgiving, I feel for that fanbase. That bad call with Forsett clearly being down and they still ruled it a TD, thats more bad luck cause their coach shouldn't have thrown the flaf to challenge that call when all scoring plays are automatically reviewed. That infamous coin flip fiasco against the Steelers in 1998 and they ended up losing that game too. Just a snake bitten franchise. Haven't won a division since 1993, havent won a playoff game since 1991, havent won a championship since the 50s. For anyone who is a devoted Lions fan I respect you and your loyalty, I don't know how you do it.

    • @BetleyIsland36
      @BetleyIsland36 3 роки тому

      @@victorbarrientos1906 yeah I'm not really sure what the logic behind it was. I don't really get what the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty is supposed to be for. I don't know if they maybe thought it was wasting time for them to challenge it went it was already being reviewed so that's why there's a penalty, but even if they wanted to use that the play still should've been reviewable. This was just a stupid rule that thankfully didn't last

    I feel like this game should've happened in 2013 because the NFL should've redid the interconference rotation like this:
    2002,2006,2010,2014,2018,2022
    AFC East vs NFC East (Patriots,Dolphins,Jets,Bills vs Eagles,Redskins,Giants,Cowboys)
    AFC North vs NFC West (Steelers,Ravens,Browns,Bengals vs Rams,49ers,Seahawks,Cardinals)
    AFC South vs NFC South (Titans,Colts,Jaguars,Texans vs Buccaneers,Saints,Falcons,Panthers)
    AFC West vs NFC North (Raiders,Broncos,Chiefs,Chargers vs Bears,Packers,Vikings,Lions)
    2003,2007,2011,2015,2019,2023

    How is that a td?

    • @BetleyIsland36
      @BetleyIsland36 3 роки тому +1

      It wasn't. The reason the call wasn't changed was because this was just after the rule that all TDs became automatically reviewed was implemented, and when they created the rule they added a piece that if you tried to challenge a play that was eligible to be automatically reviewed it was an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and the play immediately became ineligible to be reviewed. If he hadn't throw the challenge flag it would've been automatically reviewed and the call would've been changed, but because he did they play couldn't be challenged. The rule was really stupid and was changed that offseason to avoid situations like this

    What was the nfl thinking putting in a rule that said automatically reviewed plays could not be reversed if the challenge flag was also thrown.
    The unsportsmanlike penalty I get but not being able to fix such a horrendously bad call is inexcusable.
