I went from a plate carrier with plastic plates, wanting to look cool and modern and everything, to a tactical vest, and ended up loving to wear chestrigs...which is very strange, cause' I never ever thought that I wanted to wear one. But once you try it in airsoft, you realize it has the most benefits of all the other carrying systems. For starters you sweat a lot less which doesn't affect your goggles as much with fogging.
Definitely would love to see a comms breakdown, specifically focused on the meshtastic system!! Thanks! Love this video, I've been looking at different chest rigs for a while now so this was very helpful.
@PhoenixFeatherAirsoft how to get others to start using Meshtastic, or how easy it's to use. Also, I'd be interested in how to get a field or host group to start using it, or if there's ways to make setup easy for users?
One thing that always allows me to buy the real deal rig and gear in general, is that they hold their value over time much better than the cheap knock off ones. Especially if you buy them already used, the biggest drop in price is already behind and you can most of the times use the gear for many years and even then sell it again for the same price you bought it for (unless if you bought it new). I am also taking a part in military training regularly, so the gear need to hold together well. A good quote from a friend who does HALO operations is also that "the warranty means nothing when you jump out in pitch black darkness" meaning that it won't help you if you have cheap gear with lifetime warranty. If the gear breaks in wrong moment you are officially screwed even though you can get a new warranty replacement later on. Therefore if you need to choose between reputable manufacturer with limited warranty or even no warranty at all or cheap manufacturer with lifetime warranty, I would go with the reputable manufacturer every time. Also when you have new setup for you next big event, always test it before hand in weekend games. Its just so easy to think about all the great pouch placements in your gear at home and when you actually start using the gear you find out that you cannot reach all of your mags or the radio or the antenna pokes your neck when in prone or what ever the case maybe. So even if you don't need 6+ mags and a big backpack for your two hours weekend skirmish game, test it there and you probably find out if the gear works good for you or needs a changes before the bigger event. And lastly one big thing to remember: When you buy lets say spiritus systems high end gear you don't only pay for the gear, but also for the research and development work they have done before that piece existed. Most people forgot that the cheap chinese gear is just big middle finger to original companies that have done the prototyping and testing of their products that normally cost so much that you cannot even add that to the final price of the product at all. So if you want to have clean conscience, get the real deal one. Everyone who runs their own business knows how much it mean to them when ppl buy the original product you have designed and how much it sucks when ppl give the money to chinese copy fuckers that just copied your idea and your product to eat your revenues. Only moment when I kind of understand that you buy the cheap knock off's is when the original piece is always out of stock. At that moment the manufacturer should know that the ppl who wants the product that is always out of stock might end up buying something similar from somewhere else and that they loose customers because they cannot meet the demand that there is for their product.
Great comment dude thanks so much: To point 1: I absolute agree! Though I try to balance it out. Of course I am not jumping out of the rear of airplanes, but if I would I would definitely go with the real deal, for exact the reasons you were saying. The point is more towards the casual player of Airsoft. But good point non the less! To point 2: Absolutely! I was not doing that enough and I was getting annoyed at my stuff. So I changed that and it made a huge difference. Trying out different stuff and just tinker! You will find stuff that needs changing! Every single time! To point 3: This goes with so much stuff. For Example Wedding photography. You are not only paying for the expensive gear they are using, but also for their experience to produce good quality even under pressure or being professional in the first place. This is transferable into a lot of fields and examples. Yes, I went that way that I looked somewhere else to find what I was looking for. Just happens. Maybe they focus internally onto other stuff and cant keep up with the demand. You'll never know.
@@PhoenixFeatherAirsoft Ya the demand thing in products is kind of hard thing to do. Like when corona hit the worldwide hard and travelling was banned for couple years, ppl were left with a lot of money they normally spent for travelling the world and they spent it on their hobbies instead. Therefore demand for many products rapidly increased over the limit you can produce. You could hire up more ppl and ramp up the production big time, but is the demand temporary or is it going to stay? You don't know. And because of that many manufacturers sold just "out of stock" for half of the customers, because if the demand suddenly drops then they first make minus from that and in the end need to sell machinery and spaces and fire ppl and all that not so fun stuff. Also what I think Spiritus for example is doing, is that they keep their products kind of rare but not too rare. So there will be interest to their company all the time. Ppl keep checking the website regularly and spot new stuff etc. Its a tactic to not fulfill the whole demand all the time. And the photography business is just horrible. New comers are afraid to charge the price that would make their living and the ones that do, are "over priced" in most customers eye's. In the end you get what you paid for. Especially in weddings if you are not photographing two models you really need to tell them what to do, to be able to get those amazing photos of them. Ofc you should direct models too, but at least they know what to expect from a professional photographer. Okay enough of that off topic back to war :D
hahahah! Yes you are right! Spiritus is for sure creating demand and being kinda rare. Its part of their overall thing. Being kinda gucci :) And yes you always get what you pay for! And if you buy cheap, usually you buy twice!
Interesting ideas and video. I built a chestrig setup using a Condor Ronin chestrig, and a battle belt. I cobbled them together by creating the connections myself, trial and error on that one. Now the chestrig functions as a form of suspenders keeping the belt up and close. Also modular as heck as I can switch out the belt for another or re model them enterily.
I bought an MK5 micro chest rig from Spiritus Systems via Brownells and added some pouches from Krydex because the originals are expansive and not available in Germany. I haven’t tasted it jet but I’m very existed to wear it for hiking and jogging (I hope next weekend will be more snow, so it gets more exiting). I also plan to build my own mashtastic set up and I plan to build some robotics projects for Airsoft as well. Nice to see other tech nerds in Airsoft.
@@PhoenixFeatherAirsoft On the long term I want a kind of robot Dog/cat (Projekt is called LYNX) that is able to follow me, detect enemys with object detection (i think it will be a pipline with YOLO and OpenCV and so on) and gives fire support and can carry a few extra mags. It will have a two point sling, so i can also carry it like a sports bag. I already have a robot base chassy as CAD Model but i am not satisfied with it jet, some basis rough calculations about motor requirements, concepts about the design and I'm currently learning the programming basics for AI and so on. But there will be a long way until it is finished. I first start with smaller gadgets like sensors, DIY Airsoft equipments, an auto turret and develope my skills further. I'm by the way the guy who made cheap DIY NVGs out of action cams. We had a short conversation on Insta DMs a year ago or so.
Nice Video, i got my Chest Rig from Templars Gear because of the problem with the hpa tank on the back. With the Templars Gear Rig you have a Little Molle Panel on the back, so I can fasten a hydro pouch for the hpa bottle. On the front you can choose your Panel for every mags you’ll need. I love to play with it, without to use a battle belt or a big chunky plate carrier ;)
Thanks for the info! I was actually looking at the Templar Gear Straps for the backpack. Maybe thats something that will help me, make the Minimap a bit more secure on the bottom part!
You should look at the Viper vx buckle up, spiritus systems mk4 copy and the viper charger pack haley flat pack copy been using it for while with hpa both clip together as and when needed.

Nice vid 👍🏼 Pls use next time a mic on ur body and ur both hands will be free for the staff. Sometimes it looks very difficult with the mic in ur hand… 😂
it is just fun to have a mic in your hand. Honestly it gives your hands something to do - but yes it gets complicated once I want to show something with my hands!
