I grew to love St Bernadette after seeing the movie 'Song of Bernadette' as a child. What an inspiration she is - regarding how to live, and how to endure suffering and bravely face death. Thankyou for this fine film!
I saw the body of St Bernadette in Nevers when I was 8 years old. I had the privilege of being in the presence of her relics in the September 2022 at Salford Cathedral in the UK. I feel truly blessed.

I watched this in 2011 when I was around 7-8 years old..... This movie made me have a great faith in mother Mary watching this beautiful movie in 2022 it's so nostalgic 😭✨

In that way she has saved me more than once when I thought all was lost. She is full of divine grace, as stated in the Hail Mary.

How is it possible for God to have a mother ? Such a blasphemous statement. God is above His creation and only One Who can hear you calling out, not a dead person no matter how pious they were in life.

Very good movie, well depicted the life of St Bernadette.
When she entered St. Gildard, she was by no means illiterate and uneducated. In fact she had been teaching younger children in the hospice at Lourdes. By 1861 she wrote, in French (not her native language), her account of the events at the grotto.

Where in the Holy Bible does it say to pray to other people except Jesus Christ? It doesn't. Jesus is the only one to pray to. No one gets to the Father except through Jesus Christ alone. Why do Catholics pray to Saint's, the virgin Mary etc.? It is not written anywhere in the Bible.

This story for me showed a young lady wanted to please God and recognised His sacrifice to pray to her is wrong
I don't remember if I have already seen this movie before, but it is true -- GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS -- I was led to this movie this time (02.28.2023). Just like the movie I finished yesterday, Jesus of Nazareth (Robert Powell as Jesus Christ), He once more said, "Do not be afraid ... I am with you every day, all the time". This movie brings back good old memories of my life and I can only thank God for them. ST BERNADETTE, PRAY FOR US!

I rembet seeing this documentary when I was a chilfd.
I wonder what happened to the audio that was on the original DVD version. The voices were so much different. Beautiful movie though, glad to see what made that is so accurate.
Is the original in French? It seems to be a French production. GAld it was dubbed to English
@@anairenemartinez165 That's what it was! I watched the French version, and the voices were so much better in that one. Sydney Penny's voice was dubbed in the French version. She sounded a little too hard for the part, and she once said that she thought the director didn't like her version of a Pyrenean accent, and to this day I do not know who provided the voice of Bernadette in the original. Thank you so much for saying something -I had forgotten I watched it in French. All the best!
