I got the model in a store when it was new. This was before it became popular on UA-cam, discontinued and hard to find…. When I got it I think I paid $12 on sale, but this was over 20 years ago :-)
Soooooooo funky music yeah man!!!!!!! And, that`s a super great multitude of the damm sinkin ships man, 5 star like for me ya man. Thoroughly enjoyable!!
Entertaining video, but I recently got the revell USS Arizona model and was wondering what glue you used to put your models together. There is a problem with attaching the hull on the model (like everyone else’s) but I can fix it. Anyway, I just wanted to know what glue you used.
All the glue I used back then was Testors, I like the liquid kind for as much parts as possible. I used that and their tube glue and likely some tape to create a makeshift weld on the inside of the hull. now adays I also use gorilla crazy glue gel - but you have to work quickly! Lol. The ships I put in the pool I use regular gorilla glue for the hull - to date the best water sealing bond I know of! That USS Arizona model is a beast to put together, definitely will keep you occupied this winter!
If you mean where I got them no, most of them are really old kits that came from hobby shops, I just pulled them off the shelves and bought them over many years…. Hobbylinc.com is a good source if you are looking online :-)
I like how Queen Mary just has such an iconic bow and hull shape that one can instantly tell it apart from the Queen Elizabeth even without the funnels
I understand the vintage titanic is crazy expensive on eBay, but the painted titanic/Britannic you used looks perfect. I’ve been desperate for a realistic titanic model that floats, prebuilt or not. Please at least tell me the brand name of the briannic/titanic you used
It’s a Revell 1/570 scale kit of the Titanic That I painted to resemble Britannic (it’s not a completely accurate Britannic as it’s just a repainted Titanic - but it does looks the part) Thanks for the compliment:-)
At 12:16 the split on the titanic was the most realistic split on the model I've ever seen. It doesn't instantly split. Only when the sturn lifts suprising high, it splits. Too bad it's far from the camera
The Titanic model is around 20 years old, I bought it 20 years ago (I was lucky to find it) it came with a book that I bought from a store…. Today the only place to find them is eBay, but people ask to much money for them!
Making model ships sink, my secret obsession. I even added lots of watertight compartments so that it would sink slowly and like Titanic. Was not easy to get a smooth sinking process. Also added compartments into these ships?
I got the Titanic over 20 years ago at a store in a mall that is long gone…. I bought it long before UA-cam made it incredibly popular, I got it on sale for $12.99…. I was very lucky!
True, Olympic had such a great career, but is so often overlooked…. If only she had been saved as a museum ship, but people looked at ships a little differently back then…had she been saved She may have them been lost during WW II. But that is something we will never know… I actually have a rare Revell model kit of Olympic but I have not built it yet.
The history of the 3 ships of the OLYMPIC CLASS is very interesting, the best known has always been the TITANIC, and she is indeed an incredible ship with a tragic history, the BRITANNIC on the other hand never made a commercial voyage and was wrecked on the coast of Keya in a place shallow and practically intact, it should also become a Museum and be better known by TITANIC enthusiasts, OLYMPIC is the most incredible of the 3 Brothers for having had the longest history and also of course having survived all kinds of advents, as I said it was dismantled but in my opinion I also think it should have been turned into a museum and carry the legacy of its history and that of its younger brothers 😁
This super good! All though that is not the muritanina.. that is a ship called Lusitania . She hitted a German torpedo. And sank in atleast to 40-18 minutes. Great video although some mistakes with ship names.
Hi there, thanks for watching, I know this seems strange but it is actually a Mauretania model, I sank it like her sister Lusitania. If you look close in some of my other videos you can see the name. The kit is made by Airfix :-)
You need to make the hull watertight with glue and then glue something heavy inside so that it is balanced and has weight when it floats, drill a small hole under the waterline and it will sink
It’s a Titanic model painted to resemble Britannic, it is not an actual Britannic model so it is not completely accurate (to my knowledge there isn’t an actual kit available) so most Britannic’s are home made - some more detailed than others, I just made mine to resemble, so it looks the part but is not fully detailed to the point of true accuracy, but I think it does the job :-)
@@ourdogzippy Well, Britannic was exactly this any way.... Is one of the 3 Titanic twin sisters. It was painted like this because it served as a medic ship in the WW1, originally Britannic had the same colors as Titanic & Olympic. And, for those who didn't know: Olympic was also overpainted in WW1, but with a camouflage pattern, was used to transport soldiers and resources.
