I love how they didn't use smoke out of the fourth funnel considering it was always just for looks and was never a fully functioning one. The builders of Titanic thought adding a fourth funnel would make it look a lot more powerful. However despite being fake it was still useful for ventilation of the ship.
the four was olso use as smoking area for the workes as well let some freash air in the lower part of ship

I love how they stuck to detail with the funnels. Only three functioned as smokestacks while the fourth was a dummy funnel, used for ventilation.

@@conflict7269 They all colapsed while sinking somehow but the "dummy" was the 4th funnel. It was there were she broke appart.
Whoever made that model of the Titanic did the most amazing job! It's probably the best handmade model ship I've ever seen. I liked the couple that had real whistles on them too. That was cool.
It just looks like someone bought a 1/200 trumpeter Titanic kit for like 500bucks and made it into an RC ship like many other did before :D

Many years ago, my dad and I went to watch a model boat show at Spreckles Lake in San Francisco. One of the ships was a model of the Titanic. Unknown to him, his best friend came up with an RC Iceberg and when the Titanic sailed, he put the iceberg in the water and chased the Titanic, it was fun watching all this.
Would've loved to have seen that! XD

@@dakotaplayz3988 I know the forth funnel was use for other exhaust as well. Just not for the burning coal from a boilers is what I meant :)
@@dakotaplayz3988 It might have been some sort of air intake for the boilers and fire room, fire uses a lot of air and that has to get all the way to the bottom of the ship.

The fact that the last funnel didn't come out smoke is amazing because the real titanic's last funnel was a false funnel for some reason..
I think that it was really an air intake to the engine room, Hid it as a forth funnel.
Might have also been for venting kitchens and other such things from some of what I have read.
@@benberlin57 they eventually made the fourth funnel as an exhaust for the kitchens. But it was a last minute thing

Fun fact Captain Smith, served in the royal naval reserve. After his service he commanded plenty of ships before he was brought at the last minute to command the RMS Titanic until Titanic took his life on his last voyage, he was allowed to fly the royal blue flag on any ship he sailed and commanded. Titanic may have flew this flag at one point during her maiden voyage, it's possible that she didn't. But! You will notice some model kits come with the flag. If it's accurate just a small but big dedication to the legend of E.J.

Most ships don’t account for the slight curvature of the top deck. How the bow and stern curve up and the middle stays flat. Very good detail.

The first three funnels vented smoke from the boilers, but the fourth funnel did have function other than aesthetic appeal. It provided ventilation to the galleys, kitchens, smoking room, and other public spaces on board. Occasionally you’ll see a small amount of visible smoke being emitted from the fourth funnel on some photos of Olympic, but certainly not the billowing black smoke created from burning coal.
