@@RyanN880EP The 287th MPCo was on the same side as the Signal folks when I was there. The 42d was closer to the theater/laundromat/barber/and the small PX.
Our barracks was right next to Det.A. & let me tell you, them Det A guy's would get really pissed when our guys were partying & playing music wide open those days
I was supposed to live in Andrews during my time in Berlin '70-'72, but some friends and i got an apartment in an attic at 39 Drakestrasse to get away from the mickey mouse in the barracks. I enjoyed my time in Berlin and spoke a little German at the time. I've never been back, since the places I worked are all gone now. Those were good times in my life, and I miss them in a way.
But the place sure has changed a lot since 1983. Our motor pool was down on the left side from the main gate on Fickenstein, at that corner. I remember when that huge building on the left side was empty & vacant. My roommate and i went in it then, had busted glass & damage everywhere. But had all kinds of cool murals & drawings on the hallway walls. Kinda spooky too at the time, I'll never forget that.
I spent 2 years , 7 months, and 13 days living at Andrews back in the mid 70s with the 287th MP Co. Good times and memories.
I was there, 81-83, 42nd. Engineers my man. Same barracks I believe as the 287th, right next to Det.A

Served in 272/287 MP companies from 1956-1959. Not surpriseingly it’s really changed since then. Thanks for the memories.
