Nothing ever will the combo of the slow 4sp automatic and the 06 and up with the Mitsubishi 225 amp alternators with decoupler clutch whines so damn loud and that spin down with a newer 4.6 that howls that sound winding up is almost sexually orgasmic for a car guy it's not fast at all but the slower they are the better they sound winding up in 1st. I'm not really a fan of many fords but the crown vic witch is basically a f250 with a car body is by far the toughest car and the final bodystlyle is absolutely sexy still looks great and something about the 4.6 sound and that bodystlyle match if that makes sense so calm and majestic yet angry and aggressive the vic will undoubtedly become the best police car of all time no not fast but like I herd a sgt say one time they are reliable as a hammer and fast enough. But I've herd ford say it's not about outrunning the suspect it's about outlasting the suspect
I've just spent an embarrassingly long time on Google Maps trying to figure out exactly where this is, and I did it! The video begins between N 69th and N 71st Avenue, westbound on W Thomas Rd. At 5:43, they turn south on N 115 Ave, and 6:32 they turn west on W McDowell Rd. the final turn is into a parking lot just before McDowell intersects N Dysart Rd--where there is a Bank of America branch. The route is 8.9 miles and Google says it should take anyone not running code 3 about 22 min.
@kooteo here that response time is completly normal. In the city the Fire department has a time limit of 10 minutes to arrive on scene, and the police normally arrives several minutes after the FD
It's MCSO Sheriff's in AZ. They take for ever as they cover a lot of land. But It's also Avondale or Goodyear PD land so there was probably units already there.
Not a fan of ford but I love the sound of the motor in that crown vic, going to suck when all police departments are done using crown vics, unless ford brings it back at some point.
Rode with a officer friend who drove a vic. Different situation but we got a medical call even though we didn't have this much distance to cover we were the furthest unit we beat the closest patrol unit, fire department and EMS department. The vic was the best patrol car they had
DAMN, 3:37 that SUV jumped that curb, that was badass! The vehicle we're riding in is going to need a full tank of gas after this run! Some of that driving was insane.
Good times, bro! I was an Explorer from '97-'04, and did dozens of ride-alongs. All we had were Crown Vics, with the exception of a Subaru WRX with the Traffic Division (2003, loaned out for 6 months, then returned), and a Chevy Cavalier (also Traffic). That Subaru was UNGODLY fast (try 97 uphill in 4th), and the Chevy was a POS ( both cars were unmarked though, so good to sneak up on people with). But I never got a chance to ride in the Chargers. They came along well after I left the Post.
Here it more or less it's the same, but when traffic is backed up the left lanes and no or just a few cars in the right lane, then we just rather proceed in the right lane or on the sidewalk than waiting until dozens of cars move to the right
In the fire service in Louisiana they have eliminated a code 2 response. We have code 1 which is speed limit response, get here when you can.... Code 3 is lights and siren and no more than 10mph over the posted speed limit. State Law.
I've done 9 ride alongs with 4 different agencies around me for my college courses. I've been lights and sirens 3 times. Once in a 2012 Caprice. Once in a 12 Charger. Once in a 13 Impala. Caprice we were in speeds excess of 130 mph, I almost pulled the door panel off, legitimately. Impala was 60 mph car was quicker than expected for a v6. But the Charger, I'm no dodge fan, but what that car can do is ungodly. We had to interrupt 10-7 for a guy with a knife. That thing can HAUL ASS
@reaperboy36 They are about equally matched, matter of fact the Crown Vic has a better 0-60 time than the Expedition. You wouldnt want to stay too close during emergency driving anyways.
@reaperboy36 Yeah man them Expeditions have some fast V8's in them. I use to have an '05 Expedition 5.4L V8 and that thing outran a lot of vehicles. very suprising.
@recret177 you can clearly hear he has the pedal smashed to the ground but I'll even give you the benefit of doubt.. but there are several sense where both vehicles were at a complete stops when busting intersections an yu can hear him mash it to the floor an never get out of it and the expedition still pulled away an gained plenty ground with the vic never catching up!
that's strange; Never had any accident in the whole city and as far as I know also not in the surrounding Counties caused by our code 3 driving style. We also don't have e.g. a 15 mph over limit regulation, from time to time I see especially car based response units going twice the actual speed limit (e.g. 100 instead of 50 kph in the city)
@Erin421 Code 1 = Request for assistance with no lights, sirens, driving rules apply Code 2 = Request for assistance with lights only Code 3 = Request for assistance with lights/sirens
Well there are different factors to think of such as torque loss and lag. Comparing a 4,000 pound car equipped with a dual exhaust 4.6L Single Overhead Cam 16 Valve engine cranking out only 250 horsepower/297 pound feet of torque mated to a 4R70W or 4-speed automatic transmission with 3.27 rear end gears, and a 6,000 pound SUV with the 5.4L Single Overhead Cam 24 Valve with Variable Cam Timing and cranking out 300 horsepower/365 pound feet of torque mated to a 6R75/6R80 or the 6-speed automatic transmission and 3.73 rear end gears. You have a bigger advantage with the 3.73 gears and the 6R80 transmission in order to move the mass that the Expedition carries compared to having 3.27 gears and a 4R70W transmission.
I miss the old crown vic I miss working on them as a county sheriff and state trooper patrol mechanic il agree yes these cars are sickening slow but will take all the abuse you give it just dont let someone rearend you anyone that knows the vic knows what I mean or have at least seen a rearened one. Despite being so slow the old modular 4.6 will get angry and scream at you witch makes up for it always has made me smile especially if it has a alternator clutch. That whine loud and spins down anyone who floors these crown vics and winds that 4.6 up knows the type of thrill it gives you
I wouldn't take people's word for it on here. I would either spend some time researching it online, speak to an active duty officer, or contact some sort of public relations. It also depends on location. Many states and counties have their own rules/laws that may differ from others.
My Friends brother was going code 3 to a GTA in progress, and he got slammed by a semi.... which ran the red light. His car was totaled and he had a broken leg.....
Federal Signal Unitrol Touchmaster....Sacramento P.D. use it also, but not LAPD (they use the Fed. Sig. Smartsiren, and before that they used the Fed. Sig. Unitrol Omega)
for real? That's crazy! We can simply choose the lane where we get through fastest, and if traffic doesn't move and it would take too long to clear a lane, then you also drive up onto the sidewalk and proceed there
We dialed 911 when we saw someone getting beat up when we were leaving a concert at the local park, and when we pulled out of the parking lot, 5 cop cars pulled in goin code 3 :P.
That Crown Vic V8, haven't heard a car engine yet that surpasses that sound
I my self own a 09 cvpi p71 nothing beats that sound
Except my W204 C63 with 6,2 L engine and 513 HP ;)
Nothing ever will the combo of the slow 4sp automatic and the 06 and up with the Mitsubishi 225 amp alternators with decoupler clutch whines so damn loud and that spin down with a newer 4.6 that howls that sound winding up is almost sexually orgasmic for a car guy it's not fast at all but the slower they are the better they sound winding up in 1st. But I've herd ford say it's not about outrunning the suspect it's about outlasting the suspect
@@nordlicht9877 not even close. It sounds more like a V6 than a V8. Probably because of the crappy exhaust system.
I love hearing the roar of that Ford Interceptor.
LoL knew what it was as soon as I herd it accelerate 👌🏻
Damn responding from 3 counties away!! That was the longest response I ever seen. Lead driver was working the shit outta that truck.
One of the best UA-cam videos ever made
Hell of a drive. The distance they had to cover.
2 cities they drove through.
Still the best code3 response ive seen.
dang that was a longggg drive and people need to learn to pull over for the siren. i hate that. great video tho
I've just spent an embarrassingly long time on Google Maps trying to figure out exactly where this is, and I did it! The video begins between N 69th and N 71st Avenue, westbound on W Thomas Rd. DANG I LOVE that sound the 4.6 Liter V8 SCREAMING. Music to my Ears i miss having my crown vic :( Great video by the way
When the spotlight flips up in the air you know you're haulin balls!!!
@Dodgeguy5591--CVPI 4.6L Expedition 5.4L. although the weight difference is huge, the 5.4 throws out some serious power to weight ratio.
if you actually pay attention to the radio traffic, you would hear that there are already officers on scene.
Look at the police expedtion go that thing is going fast
Alaska State Troopers have 40 minute Code 3 runs, now that would be a long wait for backup.
MCSO - Ended in Avondale, AZ /// came across PHX into the city lines of Avondale and Goodyear.
When bae says she’s home alone
still watch this every once in a while. One of the best code 3 responses I ever ever seen on video,
Steve Anderson thanks!
😍that v8 vic baby 😩💯
GOD i love the sound of that Crown vic
@kooteo here that response time is completly normal. In the city the Fire department has a time limit of 10 minutes to arrive on scene, and the police normally arrives several minutes after the FD
Always get goose bumps when you hear that V-8 being floored
It's MCSO Sheriff's in AZ. They take for ever as they cover a lot of land. But It's also Avondale or Goodyear PD land so there was probably units already there.
lol a normal response time of emergency doctor cars in germany is above 10 minutes sometimes, sometimes above 20 or 30 minutes or no unit available.
That's maricopa county sheriff's for sure
Not a fan of ford but I love the sound of the motor in that crown vic, going to suck when all police departments are done using crown vics, unless ford brings it back at some point.
I find it amazing that those sunglasses on the dash didn't move an inch the entire code run.
Rode with a officer friend who drove a vic. Different situation but we got a medical call even though we didn't have this much distance to cover we were the furthest unit we beat the closest patrol unit, fire department and EMS department. The vic was the best patrol car they had
You gotta love crown vics when running code 3. The sound of the engine and siren is so beast you get instant thought like, "shits going down!!"
DAMN, 3:37 that SUV jumped that curb, that was badass! The vehicle we're riding in is going to need a full tank of gas after this run! Some of that driving was insane.
GOOD DRIVING....he had it right to the wood going to that call...
The dispatcher said King car 310, are you in the POSSE?
Nothing better than raw footage 👍
Good times, bro! I was an Explorer from '97-'04, and did dozens of ride-alongs. Sweet vid! Felt like I was with you guys. Got goose bumps. Thanks
damn, that expedition hauls
@ledguy315 cool. Do you know which one it was? Can send me also a link via PM
Here it more or less it's the same, but when traffic is backed up the left lanes and no or just a few cars in the right lane, then we just rather proceed in the right lane or on the sidewalk than waiting until dozens of cars move to the right

Expeditions bust ass (our FD has one) and the CVPI's V8 sounds badass. Is that a Unitrol siren? Sounds like it...
@LagaholicGaming I had no idea, out by me is still all crown vics, not sure when the department by me plans on switching either.
Anyone else notice the star shaped crack on the windshield of the camera car @ the beginning of the video?
I've done 9 ride alongs with 4 different agencies around me for my college courses. I've been lights and sirens 3 times. Once in a 2012 Caprice. Once in a 12 Charger. Once in a 13 Impala. An 8 minute code run... Thats pretty good... I love code runs
This was far west Phoenix valley, south of Luke AFB near the I-10.
Bro A 211 Call Is Alway's a Code 3 🚨 🔊 Response Bye The 🚓🚔 Police
That response time is horrible. The robber drove past them 6 minutes ago.
Jesus how far away were they!
BTW, who are we chasing?
We're not sure, but hopefully we'll figure it out before the chase ends.
that expadition can move what does it have under the hood
Great Video..Excellent Communication within the team through out the entire event....
WOW was that a ride! how far did they go to get there?
@SuperCh08 There was probably people closer who also responded. At :50 seconds an officer announced he has arrived.
Was one of the police women on the radio at 8:32? It sounded like Deb Moyer.
that's strange; Never had any accident in the whole city and as far as I know also not in the surrounding Counties caused by our code 3 driving style. @Erin421
Code 1 = Request for assistance with no lights, sirens, driving rules apply
Code 2 = Request for assistance with lights only
Code 3 = Request for assistance with lights/sirens
Wow long response time.Where the hell is this? Arizona.
@Hbryant188 oh wait, I just read the original question and I'm stupid...the Expedition does NOT have the 5.0, it has the Triton 5.4
What siren is this, seems to be really popular on the west coast.. LAPD and Sacramento PD use it too
Touchmaster delta, used in the opening car chase in the walking dead as well
Anyone eles notice that the Crown Victoria was having a hard time keeping up with the expedition
@reaperboy36 it's called safe distance and brakes. would be quite embarrassing for a cop to rear end a fellow officer.
I like how you almost took him out arriving at the call haha.
There wasn't anyone closer ?
@seserbcp At the end was he about to run into the back of the expidition or something because of the way he swerved.
love that engine sound
how fast were guys going at some ponits
I miss the old crown vic I miss working on them as a county sheriff and state trooper patrol mechanic il agree yes these cars are sickening slow but will take all the abuse you give it just dont let someone rearend you anyone that knows the vic knows what I mean or have at least seen a rearened one. the old modular 4.6 will get angry and scream at you witch makes up for it always has made me smile especially if it has a alternator clutch. That whine loud and spins down anyone who floors these crown vics and winds that 4.6 up knows the type of thrill it gives you
That Expedition was leaving you in the dust in many parts of the video.
I wouldn't take people's word for it on here. I would either spend some time researching it online, speak to an active duty officer, or contact some sort of public relations. It also depends on location. Many states and counties have their own rules/laws that may differ from others.
Shit, that Tahoe is leaving the crown vic behind!
good video man... man i cant wait untill i become a state trooper..... but good video i also like the police interceptor good car
Gotta love that P71 sound+ the siren.
yea, but in LA, theres fewer people. and its less crowded.
@Hbryant188 no problem....although I wish it had the 5.0
Should've had a charger hemi??
These aren't the first units to respond. Listen to the radio chatter. Other units were already on-scene.
@386obc well they are a sheriffs dept
Maricopa County SO?
My Friends brother was going code 3 to a GTA in progress, and he got slammed by a semi.... which ran the red light. His car was totaled and he had a broken leg.....
Full sintetic tune up will make it catch up faster...
you planning on making any more code 3 vidoes?
Federal Signal Unitrol Touchmaster....Sacramento P.D. use it also, but not LAPD (they use the Fed. Sig. Smartsiren, and before that they used the Fed. Sig. Unitrol Omega)
for real? That's crazy! We can simply choose the lane where we get through fastest, and if traffic doesn't move and it would take too long to clear a lane, then you also drive up onto the sidewalk and proceed there
@modernmosaic87 ya except its being out ran by the expidition which is pretty sad. although i do like crown vics
Long run. Casualties?
is it me or is that faster than they ran it in?
Did they do this just to play with the siren? the speed, the danger, for what?
I probably should have mentioned the video starts in Glendale, AZ and ends in Goodyear AZ.
why didn't they just take the 10?
you have got to love the sound of that engine
MCSO if I'm not mistaken?
We dialed 911 when we saw someone getting beat up when we were leaving a concert at the local park, and when we pulled out of the parking lot, 5 cop cars pulled in goin code 3 :P.
no matter how fast they were going they missed the cannon ball run by 20 years
you are haulin ass!!! how fast did you go there? 90 -100+ mph? awsome skills.
I love my P71 Crown Vic :) Wish I could drive around that fast haha
were was the roberry in another staete? sheeesh
It's Maricopa County (Arizona) Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Joe!
what kind of siren is used at the crown vic you rode with?
