Toaks sell titanium wood stove cross bars that fit across the stand on the left (and right), this allows even better stability and the use of smaller pots.

At this point I have taken to using a titanium foil windscreen with a different cook set. The cross bars sound promising.

Although I have the TOAKS TI stand, and the TOAKS siphon burner, I have never had a problem with the flame being smothered out. I noticed you kept the pot supports in while covering the top. That may be part of your problem. I also use HEET, in the yellow bottle, not alcohol. Try the HEET, and remove the pot supports when not being used, and that will probably fix your problem. I use a kettle a lot, it covers the top, and I just don`t have that problem. I hope I have helped you out, thanks for the video.

Does the small screen fit around the Trangia when you use 3 segments, and would that work better for the smaller diameter pots?

Neither screen works with the Trangia burner, using 3 segments. There are smaller burners that will work however. Smaller pots should work too. I didn't try because everything is scattered about at the moment.
