- Bradlynn has femoral anteversion, an inward twisting of the thigh bone (femur). This condition can cause a child to have a pigeon-toed appearance. Surgeons at Shriners Hospitals for Children - St. Louis helped Bradlynn by inserting rods into her femurs and plates in her hips and ankles.
I'm 30 and getting all of these surgeries to correct this and living with immense daily pain. Please get this done for your children early.
PLEASE get this done for your kids as young as safely possible. 23 yrs old untreated FA and it's extremely painful.
I agree I’m 22 and it’s not good
@Meily If you haven't tried yet, I highly recommend trying beginner ballet for treatment.
I was 24 when I was finally diagnosed with femoral anteversion, and only ballet has given me results. It has cut down the days I'm in pain enough to make the commitment worth it. Hopefully, it will be the key to helping you feel better too.
Yeah it's far too late for me now. I'm 27 and my FA and MTA of the foot BAAAD
I had FA surgery at Shriners back when I was 8-9 years old due to my feet turning inward really bad. I do not remember everything due to me being such a young age, as I am now 23, but it is really good to see this being talked about.
I have this, not as bad as her, I dont trip, I might get made fun of, added on to the fact im out of shape and running is a struggle, i went to pt and it didnt do shit, i dont have much pain as i have had it my entire life and it is in my family on my moms side, she has it and her aunt has it, we all just call it the funny leg and sitting cross legged was always a struggle and hurt like hell and in like kindergarten i didnt understand what it was that i had so they would force me to sit like that, and just it helps to know there are others who see this, they told me the exact name when i was 11 and told me they would have to break my femur to fix it and it would be a long recovery and a shit ton of money, so figured ive dealt with it, and so what glad to know there are others out there.
I have the same condition, but I have to wait until I definitely stop growing before I can get surgery. It's gotten to the point where I can't do PE anymore because it hurts to walk, run or even stand anymore
If you have femoral anteversion and haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend ballet as treatment! It hasn't cured me, but it has greatly reduced the days I am in pain. Just the basics is all you need to know.
I had mine when I was 10 worst pain of my life had both femurs done at the same time
The surgery's aslo failed 😢
Wow! These are big surgeries. It must have been staged into at least two parts.
I understand everyone is different but my left leg went out 90 degrees and her foot looked barely and I’m only 5 months post surgery and I had CHRONIC PAIN FOR 3 YEARS
I have retroversion (opposite) really bad, it takes a LONG time for this to heal, 3 failed hip surgeries prior. Hope you're feeling better, I'm 9 months post OP from 1st one and 3 months from 2nd, still use 1 crutch. Hip issues have easily cost me $75k from missed work and medical expenses and took college away from me.
Im thankful physical therapy worked for me 🙏 that shi looks painful ash😭
How to fix this pls help 😢😢😢😢😢
The best thing the doc says..you sure it's not just for the money
