I love this respectful channel. Very constructive criticism but also very positive and encouraging. I didn't hear anything that would make me cringe if I found out the skaters were watching! I love that, keep up the good work! 👍👍❤️❤️

Evelynwashere 1 that’s the goal! We love figure skating- there’s no reason to be negative or hateful about anything having to do with the sport. Everyone is working hard- there are just some things that we enjoy more than others :)

I totally agree about Papadakis and Cizeron. They never seem to be thinking about their movement. Sometimes I look at skaters and it seems they are concentrating really hard on what they're going to do next. On top of that Gabby and Guillaume's moves are so complicated and intricate. I am amazed that they are able to completely immerse themselves in the emotion and do the elements at the same time. I agree with the lift that was low to the ice. They were at such a sharp angle to the ice that it looked like they would topple over. It was so precarious, yet you look at their facial expressions and arm extensions and soft hands and they make it seem like it's nothing. This is my first time seeing your show, and I love it!

sue cavanaugh totally agree and glad you enjoyed. The ease at which P/C always do everything is so amazing.

Who needs messy quads when you can watch Jason Brown - his SP was phenomenal and not only the components but technically he did really well. Gilles and Poirier were really disappointed after their FS and I do feel for them.

I can watch Jason Brown all day compared to other skaters. I have no interest in watching quads and the over emphasis on them just ruins it for me.

shofmanova11 I love Jason’s skating, and agree I can watch him all day doing what he does. However, IMHO, if he doesn’t get a quad in his program, to me he will always be that top tier 2 skater. It still doesn’t affect how much I enjoy watching him tho. And I think Jason wants to push to the next level. I support his journey towards this goal even it means there will be some bumpy rides on the way.

shofmanova11 I think so too. I know that’s one of Jason’s biggest goal with the coaching change, which is why I’m slightly disappointed with him not going for the quad sal in the LP here. I believe he will be able to nail it if he consistently challenge the 4s in competition, even it might take a few more trials. Last thing I want to see is for Jason to scale back and take the conservative route, I think it was one of his biggest setback in the last cycle.

@@nataliejenkins3031 Absolutely true and I agree with you, he needs a quad to be able to compete internationally. Let’s hope Brian and his team know what they’re doing and he might give it a try at CS Golden Spin.

My strongest memory of James' & Cipres' trademark free skate ending pose was when Morgan dropped Vanessa at the 2014 World Championships in Saitama. I saw that competition live and in person, and man, everyone in the building felt it. That fall must have hurt.

G/P always have cool concepts and elements, but they just don’t have the line due to physical limitations and their edge work doesn’t give them any extra point (there’s no oomph to their strokes).

The James/Cipres ending is a different lift this year - I know that its similar to previous years but I feel they are doing enough variation. Also they've spent two years pushing themselves on the throw quad and the new system doesn't reward them, so they've understandably dropped it. I think they are pushing hard for that world championship in other ways.

Totally agree with PJ that Gilles and Poirier were underscored and should have won silver.
    Other than the Russians twizzles.

I think P/C’s SD from 2014-15 clearly showed they can deliver a tasteful and in-character technical program. The 15-16 and 16-17 SDs were a little bland maybe.

Agree about Sinitsina-Katsapalov. Great skaters given a boring program...Zhulin gives this same music and same program to every team he works with (I think he also skated this same program with Usova). It's stale. He needs a new figure skating greatest hits CD.
