Been to Colorado twice and visited Gardner, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, etc. Growing up in Southern California I have to say that I absolutely love Colorado. The people are so nice, everyone is so friendly. Every town I went into people greeted me like family. I highly recommend you visit Colorado and all its beauty
I grew up there. Starting in the late 1970’s the population started to drop off. My Walsenburg High School class of 1975 had 101 graduates. The class of 2023 was less than 20. Your analysis was very spot on, in my opinion.
Walsenburg is a pleasant Colorado town and one I recall from my first time passing through it in 1968. I've driven through it many times since but never have stopped (except for gas) because after driving 3 days from the southeast I'm ready to get to my first Colorado destination, usually somewhere along the Conejos River near Antonito. If I could relocate to Colorado, Walsenburg or Trinidad would be my first choices...well, maybe BV or Salida, I don't know.
Thank you so much for your very articulate and comprehensive information. It's very nice to meet you in cyberspace and your share was very helpful. Much Aloha.
Interesting. A valid assessment on many points. You should credit the student artist that provided the pencil drawing at the 1:03 minute mark. You could contact Huerfano RE-1 for the name. You also missed the Mercantile, which is a new shopping/dining/hotel area, the Crafty Canary, and Museum of Friends.
My friend was tortured out in Walsenberg. It's far from being just a cozy little town like they want people to believe. He barely got out of that place alive. Stay safe out there people you never know who ya might run into or what could happen to you.
@@susanm436 yeah idk myself honestly but whatever happened to him there he swears a bunch of people there knew he was there against his will...allegedly again im only takin his word since ive known him many years an hes always been straight forward with me an our other friends. So idk
Been living just outside Walsenburg for about 10 years now. Your report is pretty darn accurate. Not much economic opportunity here. Decent place to retire if it's what you are looking for. But DON'T live in town. Too much crime...
Nice job on this post from an often overlooked area of Colorado.
I was born in walsenbury ( Pineda family 1890) thanks for view am the last, it was nice to view it.
Thank you for in very informative video. Looks like it is worth a short stop off i25.

Liberals are ruining the state

Moving to the area soon from the mountains.

I’ve got a cabin northwest of there in the mountains. It’s a gorgeous area, people are nice, and there’s tons to do if you love the outdoors.
came by again to visit this video ,,,,, Walsenburg ! I hope people never find it and ruin it

Same to you, thanks for watching!
Excellent video. I am related to the Montoya Family that lives there. Its interesting to see the changes that you are accurately describing.
My Mother is from Walsenburg. This was interesting to see how it looks now.
Not too different really
OK now this is my favorite one because maybe someone could live there

I want to move there
No place like home ❤
Back in the 90s, I used to live in pueblo and hooked up with a girl from there. Her dad was the police chief back then.
The town was small.
your idea of hooking up was probably asking her for directions to the laundromat. Come on man

Scary, I have land there but maybe it's not safe?

I am enjoying your videos as I am from Colorado and can not afford to live there ( said in a monotone )😂

Did not know how bad the lack of a police department made things in Walsenburg...
as a resident here I can say it's pretty bad. I moved here from Denver and was genuinely surprised at the level of crime.
Yea it's pretty bad. One my friends was held against his will out there an tortured. He barely escaped with his life.
WTF is an absurd number of prisons? How many do YOU think we should have?
Thanks for this one !
One of the places an actual real person might be able to afford in Co , if there was a vacancy , which there isn't😢
