Watching this video at 10:30 at night and now I want to go fire up my All Wood and split some wood. It's way too much fun splitting wood with these awesome machines. Keep a big enough wrench handy. I've had 2 hydraulic lines come loose on mine and spring a leak. And boy do they leak!

Rachel, You did a fine job of utilizing the speed and wedges of this machine, prodution was great, HWM, You were a good back up man to the operator, kept her well fed with rounds and re splits, the teamwork was impeccable.

Thankyou for speaking on used gloves and the safety of the ram. I’ve seen so many operators keep hand pressure on the wood while splitting, etc. one channel I watch the lady operator always puts her unused hand on the tray to keep clear while the ram is in motion, smart safety hand placement. Two working a splitter the workers need to be aware of each other’s hands. Thanks for the safety words. I just subscribed because of it.

Dude the new ones are even faster with the auto cycle. I my self am planning getting the muscle wood splitter with all the extras. (4,6,8 wedges auto cycle and a sick neon green paint job too. ) Bobby is great to talk with,

You guys work great together. I don't have a firewood business but I want one of those splitters. I usually cut and split 8-10 cords per year for personal consumption. That thing is amazingly fast and powerful.
Thanks, yeah the Muscle Wood is probably a bit much for that unless you have some extra cash to burn lol. Bobby does make an Oak series splitter that is a bit less but built on the same frame etc.

Thanks Craig and I agree. We are still getting comfortable with it. Production will be much much higher than before. I have a few more projects in the works as well that should help a lot. Just need more time to work on them. The speed of the Allwood will definitely free up some time for me.

My goodness that splitter is fast. Even for 2 people you're hustling to keep up lol. I have been so over UA-cam looking for Allwood splitters. Not a lot of videos. This appears superior to the other brands. This may be the route I go. Thanks for the video.
Definitely tough to keep up with 2 people, and we are still just getting used to it. I enjoy putting things on my channel I can not find a lot of content on. This Allwood splitter and the Balfour Samurai have both been great for me so far!

The speed of the cycle time is amazing. I hope you can get comfortable with not having the desire to paw the round . It just seems you roll the dice with it's awesome quickness for an injury. Your production rate must double to triple with that beauty. Well done 👍

Really glad that you took my advice about the gloves and the hand position. It was a little funny that people were asking you about the Allwood while you were at other manufacturers. It probably made you a bit uncomfortable and may have put the wind up a few of the salespeople selling other splitters.

I've been splitting for fifty years. I bought an Eastonmade a while back. No regrets! ;-)) Good luck with whatever you buy. BTW If It's speed your after try keeping up with a SuperSplit kenetic splitter. It's like John Henry trying to compete with the steam hammer. I've had one for forty years. Only drawbacks are a single wedge, it doesn't have a log lift and you are always bent over while splitting. Shalom/gw

Just because I like something doesn’t mean the next guy will, if we were all the same life would be boring. I like the speed/power combination of the Musclewood The Eastonmade would have been my choice if I didn’t go with the Allwood. A super split kinetic would be awesome for re splits I bet where a single wedge is all you need.

Thats a nice splitter man, I've been thinking of upgrading to a eastonmade, but ill have to check these out and see the price difference! Stay safe.
They are awesome. I’ll be putting more videos of it out shortly. The Eastonmade splitters are nice. Two things in particular I like about the Allwood is the height of the machine. The Eastonmade units seem too low to me. The other is that you don’t have to grease the rails/push block on the Allwood because he uses T4 steal. The grease is messy and seems like it would hold a lot of dirt and debris. Had I not went with Allwood I believe Eastonmade would have been my choice.

I use those same 5 ring high totes. There is no way to get a 3rd of a cord in there, unless it's stacked tightly and mounded over.
The 6 ring high totes are a full face cord to the top.
Nice splitter! Be careful not to grab the log on the ends while positioning...only over the top.
Thanks for the comment John. Rachel is working on not grabbing the ends. And yes you need to stack the 5 ring totes 10”+ over the top to get 1/3 of a cord in them.

Mark so far I have no complaints! Sure there may be a few tweaks here and there but nothing but impressed so far. I will be trying to feature different things in upcoming videos. I will run the 6 and 8 way wedges. I also have some 36” oak rounds to test the lift and splitter!

Lools.like.a great wood splitter. My question though is if your working by yourself can u.stack.the logs on the side your standing where your wife.was.splitting or.do they need to be on the other side and.need to.walk around the splitter.with the log to split.on the other other side ..thanks
Joseph, check out the videos with the All Wood table. It allows you to easily split 1/3rd of a cord at a time without ever having to re load!
Any videos of the custom 8 way? I plan on using the 8 to make the wood for my bags that I sell at my wood stand.

Absolutely, so far I’ve been nothing but impressed. Haven’t been able to put the hours on it like you have yet but I’ll get there.
Glad that you all are considering the implications of this splitter especially considering the speed and the auto down and back. Hydraulics are totally unforgiving.. I see your wife is struggling to keep her hands off from the wood as she always had it on top before.. Starting out I wouldn't do to many of these speed trials it's really how people can get hurt. Giving her time to adjust to using this much faster machine would be my personal suggestion.. BTW I love your content and from another MIchigan man love to see you guys out doing this together, btw you said in one of your videos that your wife is a hottie, I agree..
Thanks Nick, we are definitely still getting used to it. We weren’t racing here but trying to go quickly to see what it could do. It can definitely keep 3 guys busy. A lot of our upcoming videos will be a more casual pace while we get more familiar with this splitter. I’m glad I have a wife who will work outdoors with me for sure. Funny you say that about my comment on Rachel. I just got in trouble with my mother in law for that comment lol.

7;20 was the first time Rachel reached out with one hand for a round. That is how she should have done it every time to keep her hands off of the ends of the logs. It is easier and safer. I agree with your tips on learning procedures (violated by HWM).
I believe you should try the 6 or 8 way wedge on it. The rounds look big enough. You and wife could keep up with it if you had a convoyer. Have a great day be safe.
I thought about it but we hadn’t even run rounds through the 4 way yet. I think I am going to run the 8 way to split up the N&N dump trailer load of maple I cut up in my previous video. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Takes longer for 2 people to toss the wood out of the way then it does for the cycle time to reset 🤔💭🙉
It definitely put out some wood. Once we add a conveyor we’ll truly reap the benefits of the speed.
I believe the correct amount of increase from stacked to thrown in you should add ~25%.

I watch to motivate myself to get out and split. Unfortunately, what took you both 18 minutes will take me a good hour (with a back break in between) on my box store special 😢. Rachael spoke of cradle height, what is the cradle height? I’ve no clue as to your height, but to me, one of the most important features on any wood splitter is ergonomics. I’m 6’2” and the cradle on my splitter has me constantly bent over.
The height of the rail of the splitter. I am 6’ and both Blue and the new Allwood allow me to work comfortably without bending down. I used to take an hour to split a 1/3rd cord as well. But with Blue once I made the upgrades and now with the Allwood time to produce the same amount is way way less. Hopefully you’ll be retiring your current splitter soon 😉
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors that’s great to hear 👍🏻. I’ve a pile of big rounds I’ve been dreading to do. The picture as my avatar is when I was 17 and has been colorized. I’m certainly not 17 anymore and the hard life I’ve led has taken a toll. It’s disheartening to admit it took me 2 hours to do 3/4 of a tote today. A rank (face cord) down here goes for around $75 - that was a lot of time I spent trying to make $75 (and came up shy).
If you want that lift installed I’ll see if my buddy can help me get it done I think it’ll come in handy. Or I can bring the stuff and you can get it done eventually up to you.
Hi Mark - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I agree that correct table height is crucial for sustained working. I am 6ft 5inches and and I welded up an extra table on my vertical splitter to enable me maintain a straight back. On another splitter I made a plinth to get me the correct table height.
Couldn’t agree more. The height of this splitter is great for both Rachel and myself. Blue was a good height too. My previous splitter was a bit low though and it makes a huge difference! Thanks for watching and commenting.
